What a fabulous day! Cristian went above and beyond to ensure we all had a fantastic experience. Informative, efficient and ensured our two young children were also comfortable along the journey. Navigating the busy Christmas market traffic, he got us to the ‘front door’ each time and was ready to take us to the next destination every time. A special mention - at the spur of the moment, he even organised a restaurant reservation for the whole group to dine together, which was lovely. Highly recommended.

This was one of the best days of our trip. We really enjoyed exploring the villages around Colmar. We were very lucky to have Christian as our guide and an incredibly lovely group of people that were on our tour. The villages that Christian took us to see and the information that he told us about each place was incredible. We really appreciated how he would drop us close to the centre of the town and then show us some sights and / or provide information. We then had time to explore on our own. Christian would then meet us at the end of our exploration.
This was such an incredible day where we got to see so many little villages surrounding Colmar. We could not have done this ourselves, even with our own car as we would have had to park much further away.
Christian absolutely went out of his way to ensure that we had a fantastic day. This tour exceeded our expectations.

Christian provided us with an enjoyable day of Christmas market visits. We loved visiting the small Alsatian towns and their markets. We also enjoyed learning about some of the background history of the area. Christian really made the region come alive for us.

Lovely day in small villages in Alsace. Learned a lot and saw amazingly old buildings and lovely decorations. The Christmas markets were quite similar to those in Colmar and Strasbourg. But smaller and with a few different items if you are shopping. Our guide,Laura, was lovely. I believe you will enjoy this. But bring extra gloves and an extra hat.

Christian gave us a great tour!! He was very polite and courteous. He drove five of us around in a small van and we saw the towns around Colmar. We saw the beautiful Christmas decorations and Christmas markets, but Christian, our tour guide, also told us about the history of each of the towns that we visited. After visiting the towns we had a great wine tasting in a wine cellar. It was a wonderful day out and everybody enjoyed it!

My expectations for this day in Alcase were far exceeded! Christian was an amazing tour guide! He made the area come alive for us. He was extremely polite and tried very hard to ensure that all of us on the tour got what we wanted out of it. I couldn't be happier with Alcase Original Experiences and feel like I got my money's worth and more!

The villages in Alsace were amazing. Unfortunately, the organization and the guide were very poor: A)over an hour waiting for the other cars -it would have been easy to suggest us to visit the village while waiting for the others. B) the guide should had explained the program in advance- the group was asking it all the time c) poor coordination for lunch time., and that happened just because some people were asking g for it d) the guide gave his contact in case of need, unfortunately when I called him during the excursion he didn’t pickup the call (in one of the villages)

Due to the unexpected absence of two guides, last-minute adjustments were necessary, which unfortunately impacted the overall experience.

Unfortunately, this tour was not worth the time and definitely not worth the $150 per person price tag. Very unorganized, poor time management and communication, and missed itinerary stops plagued this experience. Our guide was nearly an hour late for our pickup due to traffic. I understand circumstances happen, but he did not even contact us to say he would be late until 15 min. after the scheduled start time. When he arrived, there were no introductions, we were just hurried straight to the vans. Yep, vans, not van. This tour is listed as a small group, 7 person tour, but there were 3 vans and at least 21 people which contributed to additional communication issues and time delays dueing the day. Because of all the delays, we only completed 2 full stops out of the 4 on the itinerary where we were able to explore the towns of Riquewihr and Kaysersberg for at least an hour each. We stopped in Eguisheim on the way back but were only given about 20 min to explore which meant we didn't get to see much. Additionally, the tour was very disorganized. So much so that 1 person asked the guide what the plan for the day was to which he responded "we don't have a plan". And considering how the rest of the day went, that was definitely true. It was very disappointing to pay such a steep price to only end up spending meaningful time at 2 markets. I gave 2 stars because the traffic delay was an unforseen circumstance, but the lack of organization and communication was evident and caused a lot of confusion and frustration amongst us and other guests. I'd recommend you save your money and just take the provided Christmas shuttles from Colmar (€9ish) to all these markets on your own.

On that day, two of our guides were unfortunately absent due to health reasons, and to avoid canceling the tours for several participants, Christian stepped in at the last minute. We understand that this situation may have impacted the quality of the experience.
That said, our guide and both drivers did their best to make up for the delays in the morning and catch up with the program by the end of the day.

Great tour! Our driver/guide, Christian, knew his way around the area, found great parking places near the markets, and gave us historical information along the way. He was concerned that we weren’t going to get our money’s worth because one of the villages did not have a market scheduled that day, so he scheduled an alternative activity for us. We were very satisfied and hope to return for a trip in the summer. Merci beaucoup, Christian!

We were sent a text early in the morning to give us a pickup time and our driver arrived right on schedule.
First stop was to the 12th century Koenigsbourg Castle where we had time to explore & take in the surroundings. The castle was spectacular especially in the early morning mist.
From there we travelled to several small villages which were fresh out of a story book, small cobblestone streets with an abbundance of Christmas lights and decorations. The places were quite crowded but our driver Christian managed to drop us in the villiages before finding parking. The bus trip between the villages was also most pleasant with our driver pointing out places of interest. We were finally dropped back at our hotel door which ended a very memorable and interesting day. Full credit to our driver Christian who went out of his way to ensure we were fully catered for.

In case of medical reason like noticed in the short message, difficult to make differently, when the decision has to be make on security purpose for the passengers and by having no other driver able to replace the scheduled one on the spot.

Visiting the small towns with Didier and Christian was a highlight of our trip. It would have been a shame to be in the Alsace region and not do this day trip. Everything was perfect. The places were charming and our guides had great information. Highly recommend!

Had to cancel due to sudden illness of my travel partner which needed medical treatment . Communication with local organizer were extremely difficult and unresponsive. Organizer did not try to communicate to see if anything could be done or offered. Very disappointing to say the least. Keep away.

Best tour I’ve ever done, of many.We could never have done this on our own, even though we speak the language and have traveled often in France. Our guide Christopher was superb. He gave us detailed insider knowledge, like the local son of the region that he is, which added a deep and precious dimension to the experience. He expertly navigated the heavy traffic and challenging lack of parking, dropping us off near the markets so that we could have max time in them without worrying about trudging back to the vehicle. He made sure we were comfortable with a roomy van, water, WiFi, and cookies. We went to four towns with four markets, each unique and fascinating. The stop for wine tasting was superb because we learned a lot about an excellent business, well managed.The markets are truly unique. Much is handmade and locally crafted. I saw no junky commercialized crap; all was lovely and intriguing. Great street food on offer: pretzels with melted cheese, spaetzle with mushrooms, potatoes with sausage. Save room for the hot mulled wine in darling souvenir glasses. Christopher is a wonderful guide, very patient, generous, knowledgeable, friendly. Viator is lucky to have him and should give him a raise! Merry Christmas!

This was one of the best tours ever - and Ive taken a lot! The most important thing is your tour leader, and Max was fabulous! He is Canadien, now living in France, so that was a big help to 2 American ladies, he was easy to be around - very important for an all day tour, and he was knowledgeable about the area. We were driven to 3 fabulous Christmas Market towns: Eguisheim, Riquewhir, and Kayersberg - each better than the last, and they were all fabulous. Alsace Originals, the tour operator, uses a Mercedes Van with Wi-Fi, so we were extremely comfortable. Staying in Colmar for 3 nights, and using it as a base, and having someone else do the driving and helping with the schlepping was an excellent decision on our part! I cant recommend this tour and tour operator highly enough.
