This is a fun way to use your hands like a kid again while engaging with locals (Oumnia and Khouloud, in our case) to learn more about their culture and way of life. This was one of this highlights of our stay in Chefchaouen.
This was a terrific experience. The owners both shared their time and family stories with us during the entire class. The pastries we made were sensational and included the walk to the neighbourhood wood fired oven for the actual cooking. An absolute great way to meet local genuine people.
This was a truly hands-on cooking class, mixing much of the ingredients by hand. :-) we made three absolutely delicious and different cookies, baking them in the community oven, over a wood fire. we were warmly welcomed into their family home, and left feeling like friends. This was the perfect way to spend an extra three hours in Chefchaouen! And we took home plenty of cookies to share.
I recommend this Moroccan pastry class to you. Not only will you learn how to make 3 delicious pastries, in sufficient quantity to enjoy them for several days, but you will have a very pleasant time chatting over orange juice or mint tea. Time went by much too quickly on this terrace.
