Cancelled at midnight the night before

I booked 11 days before the trek. When I hadn’t heard at 8pm the night before where to meet (as promised in the booking confirmation) I messaged him through the app. No answer so called Viator customer service. They called him and said I’d hear from him soon. At 23:07, after several attempts to message him, he told me the trek was cancelled due to the weather and I should have contacted him sooner… He then told me he hadn’t received my booking despite confirming it and receiving my money. Finally agreed to refund me gone midnight.
