Snorkeling trip

The boat crew are absolutely fantastic and go out of their way to make sure the guests are happy and enjoying themselves. One even gave his sandals to a passenger to use because she did not have any water footwear and the ground was filled with rocks.

Bad experience

The guide was not very helpful just on his phone and talking to what appeared to be family on board. Our seafood lunch was left out in the sunshine for about three hours on the boat before lunch so we didn’t eat it for fear of food poisoning It was very difficult to get on and off the boat at the two islands we stopped at the first island there was no option to get off at all We did a couple of trips in KL last year and they were excellent. This trip was expensive and a waste of money and a days holiday

Food left out for 4 hours in hot weather. We did not eat it in fear of food poisoning. Contacted supplier who stated no other tours had reported an outbreak but I’m sure they will come tomorrow

Absolute Disaster – Unsafe, Disorganised and a Total Rip-Off

This was hands down the worst tour experience I have ever had, and I strongly believe it should be removed from Viator immediately. To start, we were picked up 1.5 hours late with zero communication. No message, no update, nothing. We spent a fortune making phone calls just trying to find out if anyone was coming. When we finally reached the port, it was the same story — no one knew what was happening, no instructions, no organisation, and no atmosphere whatsoever. Lunch was an absolute health risk. The food was placed out on the table long before we were told to eat, sitting in the hot sun for hours. We didn’t eat until 1:30pm, after it had been sitting out the entire time. Completely unacceptable and honestly unsafe. The tour advertised three islands included, but when we got to the third, we were told we had to pay extra to go there. That is false advertising and a blatant rip-off. The boat itself felt unsafe. The motor did not work properly, and it took us 1.5 hours just to get back. We were literally the only boat out on the ocean, which made the whole situation even more frightening. Passengers were genuinely scared, and I honestly felt like something could go seriously wrong. On top of all this, staff spoke virtually no English, so we couldn’t even communicate concerns or ask basic questions. There was no professionalism, no organisation, and absolutely no regard for safety or customer experience. Do NOT book this tour. Ever. It was overpriced, poorly run, unsafe, and completely misrepresented. This operator should be investigated and removed from the platform.

Fantastic day out from Cebu City

This is a great day trip if you are staying in Cebu City. You will have to spend some time getting from your hotel to the port, and back, at the end of the trip, but this is completely normal, anywhere. Don't believe the negative reviews here. The driver is excellent, as are the guys on the boat. Lunch was excellent! I had a great day and very much enjoyed the trip. It was worth the money.

Good tour to discover 3 islands from Mactan

The tour was fairly well organised and in line with the description. The time on each stop was appropriate, the lunch provided was tasty, and our captain was nice. Things to know: - The tour starts from Cordova (southern tip of Mactan Island) which is far from most hotels (30 minutes' drive from the Shangri-La) - The crew speaks very little English, so do not expect a lot of explanation - Bring your own snorkelling equipment: the one provided is low quality - At the first stop, a fisherman/lifeguard (?) oversold us on fresh seafood. Just skip it, not worth it.

Unfortunately, this tour was a major disappointment and not worth the price. Around 90% of the trip was spent traveling. The boat was extremely loud and in poor condition, making the journey uncomfortable. Due to strong waves, snorkeling was only possible for a very short time. The trip to the island took almost two hours each way, not one hour as advertised. We stayed on the island for only one hour instead of the promised two hours. Because of the late return at 5:00 PM, I missed another tour that I had already planned and paid for. The tour also mentioned water or soft drinks, but no choice was given — only plain water was provided. Overall, the experience did not match the description and was far from worth the money. I would not recommend this tour unless major improvements are made.

Very big group, not very organised, driver picked up 1 hour late with no notice given, had to wait, then didn't speak much English and didn't tell much where we were going next. But overall still had a good time on the islands. Best to go on island hopping with local providers instead.

As stated in the tour description: Gilutungan Island is a marine sanctuary stop for snorkeling only, and guests do not enter the island itself. Nalusuan Island is also a snorkeling stop at the sanctuary, with no beach landing. Caohagan Island is the only island with a white-sand beach, where guests can go ashore. Please note that beach access can depend on tide conditions and season, which may affect docking and time spent on the island. Regarding the duration, the 6-hour estimate includes boat transfers, snorkeling time, and allowances for sea and weather conditions. Actual time may be shorter if sea conditions are favorable and transitions are smooth. Misleading tour not worth the money

The description is misleading its not 1 hour on each island to explore and it’s not a bbq lunch. One island you can’t get off and just do some snorkelling near it (average fish viewing). The next one is so small you can only sit for an hour and do nothing - the snorkelling is off the pier not the boat but there are a lot of fish there. I bought a fresh pineapple juice which came from a tin of blended tinned pineapples! The last island you have to pay extra to get a small boat if you want to spend time on it - worth doing as the beach is lovely but again not much there so you just sit there for an hour / walk along the beach. Our boat was old, engine incredibly noisy and it kept breaking down so we had to stop while they fixed it. The guide didn’t really do much “guiding” either. I Didn’t eat the rice/meat as it was pre cooked and then left out in the sun for hours before we were told to tuck in! One bottle of water provided per person in 6 hours. Would not recommend. Other tours we saw had music on the boat and they looked more modern and the people were having a great time.

Island hopping - not

Terrible experience on Cebu Mactan Islans hopping. We are supposed to visit three islands and we did two. First island I snorkeled was full of floating trash, plastic bags , clothing articles, soda cans were all around me. Some plastic bags I thought look like jelly fish. I got bitten with sea lice in my leg and arms. The snorkel equipment was in terrible condition. They didn’t provide a lens cleaner to prevent from fogging your snorkel mask. I had to use soap on the second island to clean the snorkel mask. Lunch was not enough for the five of us. They had catered lunch but it was really meant for me and my wife. We felt bad because they had mostly a lot of rice and not much else for the rest of the crew. I would say our overall experience with Cebu Tours is terrible and I would not recommend anyone to sign up for an irresponsible tour operator like Cebu Tours.

An islander day trip

I visit Cebu frequently for work but I always take a few days to relax and experience Cebu. The island hopping experience is nice because it's not too far from Cebu City where we're staying so you get to maximize your time riding the boat, hanging out in the islands, snorkeling, etc. Although you are at the mercy of nature like high tide low tide but your driver/guide will give you advice which islands to go first. The lunch is as authentic as it gets - chicken BBQ, fish BBQ, Mangoes, and rice of course. If you want to further immerse yourself with the culture, the workers are very friendly. Coincidentally, I've had the same driver and guide 3 years in a row and he has been a good contact to keep me updated with current events, food recommendations, things to do. Makes the experience more meaningful. If you get Jomz, he's the best. Really great experience and would definitely come back here again.

It is not 3 islands....it is a stop for snorkeling, and then 2 other islands. Only one island has an actual beach area, and is very crowded. The guys and crew were very nice, but just an average tour at best. Bring ear buds as the boat motor is very load. Decent island hopping but this is not a tour that will wow you in anyway. Lunch was decent. Good thing it was not an all day tour. You got back around 330-4pm and had the rest of the day.

What a magical day! Our guides Nanie, Milchon & Peter (so sorry if the spelling is wrong!) were lovely, so much fun and hilarious. The freshly caught seafood cooked on the boat engine was delicious (and innovative/resourceful LOL). The snorkeling was pretty average fish-wise (not much variation of species, lots of the same ones) but it didn’t matter because the water was so clear and beautiful it was like glass, so it was magical regardless. One tip from us, go as early as possible to avoid the crowds! Otherwise we had a magnificent day, being on the boat was so relaxing and calming. We would definitely recommend this tour 🌺

Terrible rashes caused by parasite in the water

The snorkeling on the first island is ok since there are way too many snorkelers in a small areas surrounded by lots of boat. The second islands snorkeling was amazing. The only issues we had is that something in the water bites us where our skin was exposed. After the snorkeling trip, my wife is covered with bite rashes that itches like crazy. The nurse at our hotel told us that this is due to parasite in the beach that caused these skin rash. My wife is miserable since she can’t continue to enjoy exploring other island due to the rashes. We wish someone or the website would warn us ahead of time so that we can wear protective clothing while snorkeling in these waters.

Nice places - unpleasant crew

The spots you visit were nice, especially the last island. But unfortunately the tourguides and the boat crew are not friendly at all. You dont feel very welcomed and they just try to rush you through the tour. It was written that youd be on the boat for 6 hours, it were like 4-4,5h. The nature is great but the people really could do a better job. The vibe was quite unpleasant so that I can recommend going there but maybe with another tour.

A good day with visits to 3 islands

There was only one participant in this tour, which was me! I was able to enjoy this privileged trip to the fullest with one guide (driver) and 3 boatmen. What else could you expect with 1-4 tour? In addition, lunch provided by the tour operator was the most delicious meal I had ever had in the Philippines. The cooked seafood was prepared by the mother of the company owner. Thanks for the homemade Philippine food! I loved it.

The excursion was relaxing and beautiful! As advertised, the tour went to three islands. We left the itinerary flexible, focusing more on beach time than snorkeling time. We travelled with our son who is almost three, so the flexibility was great. The lunch on board the boat exceeded expectations. If you’re looking for a quiet tour at your own pace, filled with the beauty of the open seas and small and quaint beaches, this is for you.

Refreshing Snorkeling Dive

The snorkeling was definitely the best part. Our guide kept throwing rice in the water to attract more fish. I saw a green sea turtle on the ride to the next island as well.

Crew was good, not very talkative but nice. 1st island had lots of trash in the water so we didn’t snorkel. 2nd island was VERY NICE, lots of fish, easy snorkel and water was beautiful. 3rd island was very nice…. Beaches were nice. Vendors not Too Aggressive which is always nice.

I'd use another company unfortunately - Not worth the price

This was a half day trip to some islands close by. We had a tour guide that picked us up from our hotel which was nice. They driver seemed pleasant. Upon arriving at the docks we got on a really old open air boat with ya tarp. They crew were really nice and helpful and there were two of them. The captain and his mate were awesome. However, our tour guide buried himself in his phone and kept falling asleep during the entire time. He did not explain anything to us nor did her really participate in any of the activities. The first spot we got to was saturated with jell fishy so we head to head to another site. The fishy at they next site were plentiful and beautiful but once you saw them that was it. Not really too much to see but not horrible. This is where the captain kind of took over and was VERY helpful and acted as the tour guide. He got in the water with us and started showing my girlfriend how to snorkel. HE was awesome, while our tour guide stayed on board, which was fine, but he was buried again in his phone. Lunch was served after being left out all morning. I chose not to eat but I saw the tour guide stuffing his face with all the good stuff (Shrimp, chicken, rice and fruit). My girlfriend told the captain "hurry up and get some food because the tour guide is eating everything" At the end of the trip my girlfriend and I felt kind of cheated out of an element the tour guide could have filled with information about the area and native things. In all I would say go on an Island tour but use another tour company.

Hi we are very sorry for what happened , and thank you for your honest review. We will call the attention of the driver / guide for this tour and we will surely suspend or terminate him for what he did. They are always told to brief the guests which island to go first , next and so on and most importantly, they should take care of the guest (guide while you swim and go to the island) and never fall to sleep. Again, we are sorry about this.
