Bohol is beautiful. Dress comfortably with good walking shoes. There is lots of walking so carry a sun hat, sun block and sun shades. The historic sites are very interesting. Chocolate Hills was amazing. The terrain is very unusual and beautiful. The floating Resturant luncheon was a buffet on the boat. You eat lunch whilst entertained to music and dance. The skipper takes you along the river for about 90 minutes. It was a very interesting tour. I can recommend it.

Ghosted me the day of the tour and then wouldn't give me a refund

Zachary_M, Mar 2026
They gave me a pickup time the day before and then completely disappeared the day of the tour. I waited outside the main entrance of my hotel for 90 minutes trying to get ahold of someone to see where the driver was. No one from the tour agency has reached out to me since this happened so I tried to get a refund through the app. The customer service forwarded me a picture that the driver sent of the back door of my hotel and said I wouldn't be getting a refund since the driver had come by. I don't know how I'm supposed to know to go to the back door if neither the driver or tour operator will communicate this. Don't use this company. At worst they're scamming you, and at best they're not making an effort.

Efficient way to see...

Jason_C, Mar 2026
Efficient way to see Bohol's major sights, but it felt rushed at times. The Tarsier sanctuary was a unique experience although we were ushered through with little time to really enjoy the sightings. The lunch cruise was a pleasant surprise as I didn't read about it ahead of time. Chocolate hills were beautiful, but the stop there was odd - 45 minutes was too much time to climb the stairs to the viewing platform and take photos but not enough time to comfortably do the nearby ATV experience (although some people still did it).

Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, organized, and welcoming. The tour moved at a good pace, but still provided plenty of time to see and enjoy each area.

Ferry was late going back...

Joyce_B, Mar 2026
Ferry was late going back due to weather but it was great as a day trip from cebu . Tour guide made it happen on a timely sensitive tour to make it back to our ferry to cebu

What an amazing experience. I'm not sure which I like most about that tour. The buffet/ River boat cruise was amazing. On the river cruise the food was amazing and the scenery was breathtaking ,Seeing the small primates were really cool. The chocolate mountains were inspirational a bit gimmicky. But still worth the visit I wish I could spend more time with the primates. At the beginning of the tour you spend about 10 or 15 minutes of this old church. Even if you're not religious, it's really pretty with the artwork. I've never been to the Bohol before and thanks to this trip, I'm definitely going to come back. I might even book this tour with a special someone.

It was ok

Paul_R, Feb 2026
It was a pretty good tour. The drivers and tour operator were really happy and genuinely cared about us. 10 stars for them. I felt it was rushed a little bit because of schedule and the distance we had to drive. But I would have liked it more if we weren't. Food and entertainment was amazing. My mistake but I thought that we would tour around Cebu before we go to Bohol but I jumped to that conclusion because I have never been here before. I read the reviews when I got home, I suggest you read them first .Now bad to worst. Poor communication. When we arrived in Bohol we were to meet up with our tour guide and she would have a sign with the tour name or our names. There is a lot of people at the pier as well as people trying to aggressively sell tours. I went through a few people with signs before I found her. She had a piece of paper in her hand and our names were on her phone. No who, where to find her or what she looks like. Take a simple picture or make a sign to hold up far enough to see. Then when we arrived after ferrying beach to Cebu we had to find our driver. No communication on where he will be, who he is or how to find him. You gave great instructions for pick up at hotel. License plate, name of driver, but nothing about the guy picking us up at the pier. My tour mates found him so I followed her otherwise I may not have found him. There was 11 people in our tour van and 7 came back in the van. I can't recommend this at all.

Great trip to see Bohol!!

Lance_M, Feb 2026
It's a very long day first of all. The ferry ride from Cebu was 2 hours each way. The there were a few 20 min to 1.5 hour van rides. The countryside of Bohol was beautiful and the island is much cleaner than other areas we have visited in the Philippines. Our tour guide, Ronald, was awesome. He spoke perfect English and was very informative and funny. He has a great sense of humor and lots of information regarding Bohol. This trip is definitely worth the trip and expense if you want a general overview of Bohol. Also the river trip was really fun, had a great entertainer singing, and the food was terrific!!

Great experience

Jessica is a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide. Everything is timed perfectly for a full day in Bohol.

All Day Tour in Bohol

Sherry_B, Feb 2026
Great tour although it is a very long day. Got to see a lot in Bohol and enjoyed every activity. The Tarsiers were so tiny! River cruise with lunch was fun and relaxing and the food was good too. Ferry ride was long but a good way to nap on the way back to Cebu! Transfers from the hotel were smooth on both ends. Our Tour Guide in Bohol was great and very informative.

Traffic is complicated....

Traffic is complicated. Lots of work to prepare. But, it's worth. Staff are helpful and polite that makes everything happy

Great day trip!

Great day trip to Bohol. It's a long day but worth it. Our guide was lovely and funny. Lunch on the boat was great.

Too short

Nancy_V, Jan 2026
The river trip was too short, it needs to be two hours. It was so relaxing to be on the river I didn’t want it to end.

Lovely river cruise....

Anna_M, Jan 2026
Lovely river cruise. Beautiful views and good food. The stop to watch the dance was lovely. The view at the end was spectacular

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for the review! Glad you enjoyed the river cruise, the scenery, the food, and the cultural stop. Happy to hear the final viewpoint was a highlight too! 😊

Enjoyable and cognitive tour

Alexander_F, Jan 2026
It was really interesting, "Explore Cebu Tours & Travel" did good job. The small issue was at the begining - the pickup shuttle arrived to my hotel with the delay of about 30 minutes and later I understood why - we continued to pick up other participants and waited for pair of women for 20 minutes - there are non-responsible people. After all, we arrived to the ferry on time, passed all terminal procedures ourselves, boarded the ferry and met with the tours operator on Bohol. We learned so much during the tour, but the most interesting part was the Loboc river cruise lunch which had a real vegeterian dishes - not just rice and fruits what are widely considred standard vegeterian food in the Philippines. At the end of the tour you get a nice small suveniour. The tour is totally worth its money.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thanks for sharing your experience! We're glad you found the tour interesting and worth it, and that you enjoyed the Loboc River cruise. Apologies for the delayed pickup — coordinating multiple guests can sometimes cause slight hold-ups, but happy to hear everything ran on time afterward. Thank you for touring with Explore Cebu Tours & Travel! 🙏😊

Long and very meh

Raquel_R, Jan 2026
The guide was very very knowledgeable he deserves a 5 star. The tour was a 2 star, a 2 hour boat ride each way from Cebu and the only stop that was actually very good was the river boating the rest of the tour was not worth the money. To see the monkeys you follow a long line of tourists and the only way to get a really good picture is to have the workers go across the fence and take it for you. For a 14 hour tour not worth it at all.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re very glad to hear that you found your guide extremely knowledgeable and deserving of 5 stars. We’ll be sure to recognize him for that. We’re sorry the overall experience didn’t meet your expectations, especially with the travel time and certain stops feeling less worthwhile. The long ferry travel is required due to the distance between Cebu and Bohol, but we understand that it can make the day feel long. We also appreciate your comments on the tarsier sanctuary and overall value—this helps us improve how we set expectations and refine our itineraries. Thank you again for taking the time to review. Your insights are truly appreciated.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your recommendation! We’re glad you enjoyed seeing Bohol in a simple, smooth, and fun trip with stunning views. We appreciate your kind words!

Tour good. Pre-tour communications poor.

Nina_R, Dec 2025
Very poor communication from excursion provider prior to trip. I reached out to them multiple times over a week prior to departure via both email and WhatsApp (their preferred communication), explaining that I would like to confirm final details. They did not respond until I was already en route and only then did they vaguely indicate there was a dress code to dress “modestly”. I assumed this meant cover your shoulders/midriff, etc. and was turned away from the church because I was wearing short pants (mind you, it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit). This was annoying, as admission to all sites was prepaid. I easily could have worn something else and fully participated in the excursion had I known and received the communication in advance.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

We sincerely apologize for the poor communication and the inconvenience it caused during your tour. You’re right—guests should receive clear instructions, including dress codes, well in advance. We appreciate your feedback and will improve our pre-trip communication to prevent this from happening again. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Amazing tour!!!

Definitely a great tour to see the island of Bohol! The Tarsiers were the best! Our guide Dolly was especially knowledgeable and funny making the tour Fun with tons of laughs. She mentioned and ATV tour which we added at the last minute. It was a hot mud bath and and adventure hahah. Def a must book experience!!!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re glad you enjoyed the tarsiers, the laughter with Dolly, and that spontaneous muddy ATV adventure — sounds like a blast! We truly appreciate your recommendation and are so happy you had a fun and memorable time in Bohol.

I will 100% visit Bohol again based off of the great tour & the amazing staff.

marialutgarda_g, Sep 2025
I would consider this day one of the best days of my life because of 1) seeing four tarsiers in person, 2) enjoying many beautiful sights (forests, chocolate hills, beautiful blue water) in Bohol, 3) eating and enjoying live music on the Loboc River, 4) our amazing tour guide Dolly and driver Mark. This was a small intimate tour with my boyfriend and sister & we packed in so much during the day and it was well worth it. Travel booking & getting to Bohol from Cebu was seamless as they provide all of the instructions prior to the tour. Our tour guide Dolly is so funny & very knowledgeable with many stories to tell. We were nonstop laughing at all of the little jokes she cracked throughout the day. Very much Filipino humor which is the best type of humor. We were fortunate to visit a tarsier sanctuary with very few visitors. It felt like an exclusive tour/mini hike with our guide. The sanctuary is protected and the tarsiers are searched for in the morning by the local team to help ensure that visitors are able to see a few during their visit. This was the best part of our day as those tarsiers are so cute and mesmerizing to watch. We got amazing pictures and videos that I cherish so much. Later in the day, we snuck in a last minute ATV tour before our last stop at Chocolate hills which was very fun and veryyyy muddy. I highly recommend this tour and certainly Dolly and Mark for their professionalism and light heartedness to keep the energy up & the tour entertaining.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Wow, what an incredible review! We’re so happy to hear this was one of the best days of your life. Seeing the tarsiers, enjoying the beautiful sights of Bohol, cruising the Loboc River, and even squeezing in an ATV ride — sounds like the perfect adventure! We’re thrilled Dolly and Mark made your day extra special with their humor, stories, and care. Thank you for highly recommending the tour — we can’t wait to welcome you back for more unforgettable memories!

Really a great tour

Andreas_P, Sep 2025
This tour covers all the sights of Bohol. My highlight was the Loboc river cruise where you go on a float up and down the tropical river. There is also entertainment on the boat as well as from the kids along the river. Our tour guide Janis did a great job. In case you are tall you should request an upgrade to business class on the ferry between Cebu and Bohol and back.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the full Bohol experience, especially the Loboc River cruise — it’s such a unique and lively highlight. Happy to hear Janis made your tour even better! Great tip as well about the ferry upgrade for tall travelers

Wonderful "one day" trip to Bohol

Gregory_C, Aug 2025
It's a full day with a stop at an historical Church in Baclayon, a tasty lunch while cruising the Loboc River, an informative visit to the Tarsiers Conservation Area and sightseeing the famous Chocolate Hills of Bohol.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re glad you enjoyed the highlights of Bohol — from the historic Baclayon Church, the relaxing Loboc River cruise with lunch, the adorable tarsiers, to the stunning Chocolate Hills. Sounds like a wonderful full day indeed!

Bohol day trip experience from Cebu

Joseph_B, Jul 2025
An excellent day from start to finish. Well paced, with lots to see and do, but never feeling rushed. We had an excellent guide and driver. Pick up from the hotel was exactly when they said it would be. I was kept up to date through WhatsApp and my ferry tickets were sent to me the day before I travelled, exactly as promised. The tarsiers are wonderful and we even got to see one with its eyes open. The views from Chocolate Hills are stunning. Put this on your to do list now! You won't regret it.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We're really glad to hear the day went smoothly from start to finish and that you enjoyed the pace, sights, and company of your guide and driver. The tarsiers with their eyes open are such a rare treat — lucky you! And yes, the views from Chocolate Hills truly are unforgettable. Thanks again for the recommendation — we hope to see you again soon on your next adventure!

Great opportunity to see the Tarsiers! Everything else is unnecessary.

Tomasz_S, Jun 2025
Tarsier monkeys are fantastic! Bohol roads are narrow and congested especially after a rain. We missed our return ferry after longer than expected travel back to the port. Weather is not in any tour operator's control, but communicaiton about the alternative options is. And this was not optimal. In retrospect - the lunch on the boat is unnecessarily long and seems like a major tourist processing machine.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're so glad you enjoyed seeing the Tarsiers—they truly are special! 😊 We're sorry to hear about the challenges with traffic and the missed ferry. You're absolutely right—weather and road conditions can be unpredictable, but we take your feedback seriously and will work on improving our communication in such situations. As for the river cruise, we understand it may feel a bit too long for some guests, and we appreciate your input. We’ll keep this in mind to better balance the itinerary. Thank you again for joining the tour!
