Itinerary

Receive a pickup from the Cape Town port timed with your ship’s arrival. You’ll then spend the rest of the day aboard an air-conditioned coach, exploring the numerous scenic attractions of the Cape Peninsula.

Start the day by driving through the upscale Cape Town suburbs of Camps Bay and Sea Point, admiring the views of the “Twelve Apostles” mountains in the distance. You’ll continue the drive by passing through Hout Bay, where you’ll be able to join an optional boat trip to observe the Cape Fur Seals on nearby Duiker Island (time permitting, at own expense).

Proceed on your Cape Peninsula adventure to Cape Point Nature Reserve, home to more than 17,300 acres (7,000 hectares) of native plants and animals. Scout for local creatures including Cape Mountain zebras, rheboks, baboons, elands, and bonteboks. You can also admire the local population of tortoises and a diverse range of bird life.

Continue to Cape Point, allowing you to straddle the point where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans merge, feeling the cool winds of the “Cape Doctor” (a local breeze) on your face. Then head to Simon’s Town, known for the local population of penguins that hang out at Boulders Beach, before exploring Fish Hoek and the coastal city of Muizenberg.

Make a final stop at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens for a walking tour before continuing back into Cape Town, where you’ll pass by the Rhodes Memorial, the University of Cape Town, and the Groote Schuur Hospital before getting dropped off back at your ship.
