Jacob was very attentive and was able to provide a tour at our pace. He is very knowledgeable and the whole family appreciated his interpretation of Canmore's history.

Very enjoyable, pleasant walk through Canmore. Our guide was absolutely delightful. I would recommend this tour as a nice introduction to the area.

We took this tour in early October and it was sunny and no snow, so maybe a bit lucky, although a Jacket was still required. The tour starts at the Rec center, goes along Bow river, by an old mine, across a couple really cool old bridges, then down through the center of the historic down-town area. Our guide knew about the geology of the area, the ancient history of the natives, the settlers of Canmore including some of the prominent figures in the area historically, the economic and political forces that shaped the history of the area, and are still shaping it. We had a great time.

Really nice walk around Canmore on the trails and very interesting details about the town history. Wish we could have seen an old coal mine. Ben was really friendly and easy going

Thank you! It was a pleasure to meet you. The old coal mines are cemented closed due to methane gas leaks. They are not setup for touring. But thank you for the feed back! We are looking to develop a longer History Walk in 2025 to the the area further! It will be longer in distance and time, less family friendly - but build for the History Explorers like you!

History of Canmore. History of town including 1883 railroad tie. Stories of cowboys versus coal miners.

The Cowboys and Coal Mines Tour is a History Walking Tour that is all about the local history.
We do offer a 2hr Nature Walk that is more suitable for viewing and videos of nature.
Joyce Wiedman from Alabama's group did seem to enjoy the tour. Giving a handsome tip and doing the "Alabama fist bump", as they described it, at the end of the tour. We would offer a refund if the group did not enjoy the tour. But that did not seem to be the case.
We are just a small family company and reviews can hurt or help any small family company. Positive reviews sometimes are the motivation needed to push through hard times. We appreciate them greatly! Thank you for booking with us.
If you have an issue or did not enjoy a tour please contact us for a refund. We appreciate your business and feedback.

Our Canmore Trails and Tales guide, Jacob, was personable and knowledgeable and thoroughly interesting and entertaining. We are looking forward to taking part in another Canmore Trails and Tales tour in the future. We highly recommend Canmore Trails and Tales.
