This trip will take you to see Pelikan Rock and the Arch, and an optional drop off at Lover’s Beach for snorkeling. The guide told us a few facts about the places. Overall good value for money, BUT… When I arrived to the camping chair that made up the company’s office, one of the guides tried pressuring me to take their 3x1 trip with whale watching. I said a firm no, and he accepted. Then he took a picture of me which I still don’t understand why that was needed. We were only 4 tourists onboard the boat. When we took off, one of them was mounting his fancy camera gear, but I noticed that he wasn’t taking pictures unlike the rest of us. When we arrived at the Arch, he suddenly stood up and asked us to take off our life jackets and head to the front of the boat, clearly getting ready to take pictures of us - and discuss how much that “service” would cost afterwards. I immediately said no, and the other tourists followed after me. The camera guy clearly was not used to that, but he accepted after looking confused at the captain who also seemed to accept. When we arrived at Lover’s Beach, a man came to help us off the boat. He started telling how our stuff would be safe under his umbrella and made it sound like it’s unsafe to leave your stuff while snorkeling. Again I said no thanks and he accepted. Clearly you shouldn’t bring valuables to a trip like this. Phone and a little money for tips and perhaps a soda is enough. We were picked up again at Lover’s Beach at the exact time promised by the captain and made our way back to the marina. When we arrived, he jokingly said not to leave a review if we had negative stuff to say. This could actually be a good trip with solid value for money, but I don’t appreciate attempts to scam. Charge the price it takes to run a decent business rather than scamming people to make things go round. I do not in any way appreciate being scammed, and I want to make it very clear that it’s not a decent way of running a business.
