We were booked to do this tour on Fri 8/11. Our guide, Elizabeth had been in touch with us several times via What’s App to provide us with details regarding meeting point and time, tips for transport, etc, and confirmation of the details. Start time was scheduled for 1pm, and confirmed. On the morning of the tour Elizabeth contacted us again and confirmed the tour and what we would be doing during it. We were asked to be at the meeting point ten minutes prior to the tour start time.
At 12.45 pm we arrived at the meeting point. At 12.55pm we received a What’s App message from Elizabeth asking us if it would be okay to start at 2pm as she was going to travel on the underground. We responded that we were waiting for her, as arranged and confirmed, at the meeting point for the 1pm start and did she mean that she was going to be another hour before arriving. Elizabeth read our message, but did not respond.
As we are unfamiliar with BA (this is our first time in the city) and have only a short stay of 36 hours we weren’t confident that we could do a similar tour of the sites on our own so we had no choice but to wait for Elizabeth to turn up.
This behaviour is so unprofessional, to leave us in an unfamiliar area, not near our accommodation, and with only five minutes notice that she would be one hour late after the confirmed start time.
During the tour Elizabeth appeared quite flustered and disorganized, and the experience was very disappointing and amateurish. She seemed to be very interested in the numerous antique shops we walked by on the tour, but we were clear this was not our area of interest. We also made it clear that we would like to go somewhere to purchase local ingredients for authentic food, but this was ignored. The food outlets Elizabeth took us to (a bar for empanada, a market stall for choripan, and an ice cream outlet) offered good food but again she appeared very confused and unfamiliar with the menus and processes for ordering. We were not given any tour of the street art of BA as promised in the tour information.
At the end of the tour, Elizabeth left us without notice in a park a considerable distance from both our accommodation and the starting point of the tour. The whole experience reflects very poorly on Viatour as a tour operator, and was surprising for us as we have used Viatour in many locations throughout the world with no previous problems.
We have reflected on our experience overnight and now send this feedback with a request for a refund of our tour fee as the tour we received clearly did not match the standard or content of the promised/promoted tour. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Good afternoon
We are sorry for the inconveniences you had while doing this tour, however we do not agree with the rating you have given us. We consider that it is exaggerated and does not deserve a refund as you are asking for.
The guide mistook the tour start time thinking that the tour would start at 2pm (a time we use for most of our tours). She arrived at 1:30pm at the meeting point. We were able to verify this through the chats that were provided by the guide.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused, but asking for a refund for the activity is impossible since the full meal was provided and paid for.
The guide asked if everything was ok and at no time did you complain or say anything about the tour or the food. And she told us that you seemed satisfied with the food and the service provided.
We have been in the tourism industry for 20 years and have never had anything like this happen to us with our clients. The guide told us about the great conversations you had during the tour about yourselves and the other things you wanted to see and do in Buenos Aires.
We find it disrespectful to our guide and our company to ask for a refund for a small mistake. I invite you to read the comments, we have been working in the tourism industry for 20 years and we have almost never had any problems with our clients.
At the beginning of the tour, the guide explained how it would be, starting at the Mafalda statue and ending at Parque Lezama. After the tour, as they did not have a way to move around the city, the guide invited you to use public transportation to get to your hotel or to Av de Mayo and you replied that you preferred to walk.
We have the pictures of you enjoying the tour you paid for and the food that was included in the tour.
This comment against us does not reflect the quality of the service provided to these clients. All services offered were provided.

Juan Manuel Sánchez was our guide for a gastronomic and history walking tour at San Telmo. He was excellent, arranging transportation to and from the tour. We enjoyed unique Argentina pizza different than others worldwide. The traditional "fast-food" lunch empanada was delicious.
A unique Choripáns sandwiches made with grilled sausage chorizo and a crusty, baguette-style bread accompanied by beer in the historic farmers market was a highlight.
Juan Manuel showed us the beginnings of Argentinian elite and migrant historic homes, the historic sites for tango. We learned why this became a center for antiques. And much more.
Yes, we recommend this trip.

I did this food tour solo and had a great time with my guide Manuel. He was very knowledgeable about San Telmo. We got a chance to chitchat about his stay in NYC. The Food was fantastic and filling. We even ended with dessert. 🤗

Have a great back to NYC

To start off our guide was very good. The issue was the first place we went was a local bar and we had pizza. We thought we were getting empanadas so the guide did get us some which took extra time. We did not go on a local walking tour for pizza we could get at the corner by our house. The next stop was local market for a traditional sandwich. We arrived 20 minutes before the location closed and they would not serve us. I must say one of our group did stop for something and that took 10 minutes of our time. But the guide should have gone and told them we could not stop. We ended up at an ice cream shop which was excellent.

Good afternoon.
The tour is about typical Argentinean food including pizza and empanadas.
You should appreciate that the guide paid for the empanadas out of his own pocket so that you could enjoy this typical dish, the food is cooked on the spot like any restaurant.
During the tour we visited different gastronomic establishments and all the dishes included in the contracted service (starter, main course, drink and dessert) were offered.
In addition, the guide, being such a cordial group, paid special attention to them by giving them the opportunity to taste a classic typical Argentinean dessert.
The service was carried out in a timely manner, with private transfers there and back. Together with the driver and guide service.
The passengers were satisfied with the service at all times and even gave the guide a good tip and their agreement with all the services received.
This criticism is very striking as it contradicts the comments and reactions of the group during the tour.
This comment does not correspond to the services and attention provided.

Our guide was communicative and very helpful. She managed to accommodate those with vegetarian tastes and those with sore feet in the same tour and we all came away happy.
