Good day despite our guide

Good experience overall. The guide in Ypres was a bit rusty as it was his first tour after a break of 2+ years. His jokes were also a bit crude for our taste. Might just have been us but he made a few derogatory jokes about women and he also referred to his testicles on several occasions.

Cemeteries and trenches and battlefields

We booked the World War I private tour in the hopes of finding my husband‘s two great uncles burial sites who were buried in the German cemeteries, our local guide Nikolai made this happen. We were so pleased. We also tour trenches, battlefields, and passchendaele Museum. Nikolai was knowledgable and an unbiassed tour guide and we would highly recommend his services. Our driver Theo was an excellent driver and added to our great day.

We had a wonderful day out with our guide Nikolai Visiting the actual sites, trenches, cemeteries and various museums was moving and was a reminder to us of what occurred and the lives lost during this period. The daily living conditions and hardships were evident in the multiple photographs and stories in the areas.
