The driver, Steve, was amazing! He was funny, told great stories and was quite informative about local culture, history and amenities. I would definitely recommend booking through a shuttle tour especially if you're not renting a car. It's a great convenience not having to worry about transportation and navigating between the city and the zoo.
The zoo was incredible, lots to see. I missed out on booking a close encounter, (upfront visitation with animals and a handler). Definitely need to book those a few months out depending on which animals you'd like to see. Otherwise I did get to pet a koala and feed kangaroos. If you get there right when the zoo opens, head straight to customer service to buy the Roo food ($3 AUD) and then to the kangaroo paddock. You'll get a kangaroo to feed all to yourself and they'll be hungry. They're full later in the day. The Warrior show was spectacular. Pay attention to which direction the sun is going so your stats aren't out on the hot sun during the show.

I had the driver Bruce and he was awesome! He was on time at the pick up location and we walked right into the zoo without waiting in line. He also gave the best tips & tricks for getting around the zoo and seeing all the good stuff.

Australia Zoo is an absolute must-do! The day was well organized, and our driver kept everyone entertained while sharing lots of interesting information along the way. The zoo itself exceeded my expectations, with incredible animal encounters and shows. If you’re visiting the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane, don’t miss this experience!

Driver Steve was great & gave us plenty of information/recommendations for things to do. His map of the zoo allowed us to see everything with plenty of time to explore the zoo. Great trip, highly recommend.

We are so glad we booked this day-trip. Our driver “Steve” (just a coincidence) was outstanding! He filled the drive to the zoo with a plethora of information. He was funny too!! We followed his plan to make the most of our visit, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day!! No words for how amazing the zoo is. It’s more of a sanctuary for the beautiful animals. Wide open spaces for them to roam. Phenomenal landscaping and no typical zoo smell.

Prompt friendly service! Driver was very nice and gave facts along the way to zoo. Also, provided information about the best ways to spend time at zoo.

Time at zoo was tight due to amount to see. Bus was good, a bit of fun facts and kept us well informed about traffic, delays and the reasons for return home times. Well worth it

Bruce was fantastic, super punctual and very nice - he pointed out land marks on the way to the zoo and assisted us in getting through the entry swiftly. He also gave tips of where to go and what time the shows are so we didn’t miss anything fun! I would definitely recommend and 100% do again!

6 hours is more than enough time to enjoy the zoo. I had lunch with a view of the croc and bird show and it’s an amazing way to end the day.

Well run, organized, and friendly. We were provided a map with a suggested path that worked perfectly! The zoo was beautiful! Highly recommend a visit!

Great pickup and drop off service going from Brisbane to Australia Zoo. Bruce was a good driver with a bit of interesting info along the way. This service skips queue's to the zoo and included the animal hospital, door drop off and pickup (no long walks from the car park). We had approximately 5 hours at the zoo, which was ample time to see most of the animals.

We had an amazing experience! Our driver was absolutely amazing exceptional! He gave us a personalised map to ensure we got full satisfaction out of our day at the zoo and also gave us some amazing recommendations for Brisbane City! Would highly recommend

This is a must-do for anyone visiting Brisbane, but especially for anyone who watched The Crocodile Hunter. The zoo is about an hour outside of Brisbane so this tour is the way to go, with great pickup and drop-off options. Steve's map and suggestions for getting the most out of our time in the park were incredibly helpful.

Australia Zoo is a credit to the Irwin family . Fantastic place and many animals to see and watch on display in the “crocoseum” . Well worth a visit ! The tour guide also very informative and made the trip an even better experience . Thankyou :)

Great tour guides. While it’s not the biggest zoo nor has the most animals I’ve seen in a zoo, I’ve been to the San Diego Zoo, compared to other zoos I’ve seen in this country, the animals seem more active. Could be because we got there early in the day. It lets people feed the kangaroos. The shows were also fun to watch. I saw the croc show and the tiger show. The only downside was, the day I went the red panda was out sick and the area by the dingo habitat was experiencing construction, so I couldn’t see them that well.
Overall, a great experience. If you are a fan of Steve Irwin, I would highly recommend visiting.

It rained the whole time we were there, but it was a fantastic experience and I would do it again. My goal was to pet a koala and feed a kangaroo and I did both!

We booked this trip through the Viator App and the whole booking process was easy to follow with subsequent communications being excellent. This trip is a must do from Brisbane because what the late Steve Irwin, his family and their employees have achieved at this Zoo and Animal Hospital is simply incredible. As part of the trip you get to see the Animal Hospital which treats over 10,000 animals per year and is a great facility to see in action. The Zoo itself is one of the best you will ever go to with the whole park being very natural looking with the animal enclosures being very spacious and designed in the interest of the animals and birds etc. You can get close to the large number of Kangeroos that roam around parts of the Zoo and you can feed them which is good fun. The shows around the park are all good and worth seeing. The main Crocoseum that Steve Irwin designed is a big feature of the park and it's worth seeing the show in there. The photos, videos and references to Steve Irwin around the park are a nice touch as is the large bronze statue of him and his family inside the entrance of the Zoo. The South African Bus Driver / Guide and his wife were very informative during the trip and clearly explained the itinerary for the day. All in all, I would highly recommend this trip to anybody.

The six hours on site is tight. I didn't get to see all that I wanted but maybe I should have spent less time petting kangaroos and wallabies. Great opportunity to get up close to the animals though (lemurs do not respect boundaries!!)
Big thanks to Gurt (driver) for his commentary and tips too!

I highly recommend using this tour to visit the zoo. I wanted to see the zoo but was nervous as a solo traveler, this was a safe way to get to and from efficiently and see some sights along the way. The couple who ran the tour were extremely communicative, informative, and helpful and gave great instructions to see the zoo in the most efficient way possible. Definitely recommend using this if you want to see the zoo!

Our driver Steve was funny and full of fun facts. He gave us ideas for dinner and shopping in Brisbane. We had a wonderful time on this tour. Bring a hat, water bottle and good walking shoes.

Great option for easy travel to the Australia Zoo! Driver was very helpful. The zoo itself is one of the best I have been to.
Tasha_L, Apr 2026
Great day. Our driver Steve was so much fun, it made the trip short. He filled us in with some great facts about the area. Then he gave us great tips on how to get through the park. The zoo was fabulous. Getting yo pet and feed tge kangaroos snd pet the koala and take pictures was amazing.
The best part was the croc show featuring the Irwins.
