Pretty much one of the coolest things we've done. Robert was great and patient. What a great experience, the family will never forget. We also learned a lot about the boomerang tradition generally. Everyone should do this. Also, the ride to the field was about 15 min from CBD, no problem.

We had a great time throwing boomerangs with Robert. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, and he does a great job to make it a personalized experience! Included are pick up / drop off, as well as an authentic boomerang to take home. Can't recommend this activity enough!

I was picked and and after a brief history of the area around Brisbane got to a quaint little park along the river. We lathered up with sunscreen and headed out with all the equipment we would need. Robert was a world class instructor, going over every thing slowly and making it simple to understand the whole boomerang throwing business. We would practice and he would demonstrate all sorts of techniques. I found myself enjoying the art and really got to get a solid foundation with the instruction provided. Afterwards I got to see a bit more about other aborigine tools used in historical times. Best thing in Brisbane besides a koala imo :)

Great guide from the get-go telling us about Brisbane and the area! He had inside relationships with the makers of the boomerangs, so it was interesting to learn about those native people and the art of making a boomerang. He picked us up at our hotel promptly. He provided historical context of how natives used boomerangs and the various kinds. He went above and beyond to make sure we got our boomerangs since New Zealand would most likely confiscate them at the airport as a weapon. The guide described how natives used boomerangs to kill prey and other uses along with a few other native tools they used. He provided lots of practice throwing the different skill level boomerangs with feedback on how to get it to return closer to you. It was great!

Where else could you possibly learn to throw a boomerang! Robert was awesome! He picked us up & took us to a small park with no traffic. He showed us several different types of boomerangs & taught us the steps of throwing. Then we practiced many times with the different types. We each got to decide which type we liked best & keep it. He also offers shipping options if you need it. At the end he showed us artifacts and other boomerang type weapons. We also learned all the many uses for them. Great guy who loves what he does! Recommend if you have time! Note that it is 2 hours in the park, the ride to/from doesn’t count, so plenty of time to practice.

An excellent experience, Robert picked us up at a suitable location and took us to a secluded meadow with plenty of space for the boomerang to be thrown from a position of shade. He explained how the boomerang achieved its curve and return, then showed us how to throw it and how to adjust factors within the throw and was determined to see improvement and seemed flexible on the amount of time he’d have to give to achieve it. Full of conversation and anecdotes, it was 2 hours well spent and we can now both throw our boomerangs that almost come back (10-15 feet away) more practice required. Would thoroughly recommend.
