Learn about the storied history of Râșnov Fortress (admission at your own expense), a walled stone compound designed to ward off attacks by the fierce Tartars and used as a refuge for local villagers during medieval warfare. Explore the time-worn courtyards, ramparts and well of the 13th-century fortress built by the Teutons. Opt to have lunch in Râșnov if you like (own expense).
A short drive brings you to Bran Castle, nicknamed ‘Dracula’s Castle’ for its ties to Bram Stoker’s 1897 Gothic tale and its bloodthirsty villain. The high stone walls and red turrets of this hilltop citadel come into view as you approach the secluded castle, set among the dramatic backdrop of the Carpathians.
Enter if you dare, after paying the site fee (own expense), and wander through the castle’s many well-preserved rooms and chambers with your guide. Gothic furnishings and details help set the scene for ghastly legends of all that happened here, including the imprisonment of Vlad the Impaler. This 15th-century prince was notorious for his bloodthirsty campaigns against invading Turks and is said to have inspired Stoker’s malevolent Count Dracula.

- Peles and Pelisor Castles are closed MONDAY and TUESDAY! More info about the admission time: peles.ro
- RASNOV FORTRESS IS CLOSED, for the moment! Anyhow, we could visit the outside walls and exterior court as follows: Starting Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the Garden of the Medieval Fortress of Rasnov and the Báthory Tower, located at the garden entrance, can only be visited with an admission ticket. Ticket details: ▪ The fee is 10 lei/person (VAT included) for visitors over 12 years old; ▪ Children under 12 years old enjoy free entry; ▪ Tickets can be purchased exclusively on-site, by card only (POS available).
- Please bring your own mask; we provide hand sanitizer. We are cleaning vehicles after every tour.
- Tour available with extension to Sinaia at a supplement fee and you have to book online Bran, Rasnov and Peles Castle option!
- The recommendations of our tour guides: We are always eager to make sure our guests have a wonderful time while participating on our tours. Organizing private and small group tours allows us to be flexible with time and always have opportunities for breaks. Usually, we arrive to Bran around mid-day and after visiting Bran castle our guests can have some free time on the premises and nearby the castle grounds for lunch, shopping or photographing the area. In the Tea House, a small restaurant in the castle’s courtyard one can try the Funeral cake, a porridge like dessert with walnuts, raisins, rom and much more. In Romanian called Coliva the funeral cake usually is served at funerals and commemoration of deceased loved ones. It goes well with a good coffee or tea. Nearby the castle entrance a small souvenir market is located, our favorite stall is selling traditional masks and handcrafted objects and textiles. Please ask your guide to point it out to you! Our guests have the option to decide to have a proper sit-down meal or something quick on the move. The same market has food stalls, one of the most popular ones sells Romanian Hot Dogs (local sausage sandwiches) and Hanul Bran restaurant offers a large choice of tasty Romanian cuisine.
- Meeting point: In front of Biblioteca Județeană "George Barițiu", Bulevardul Eroilor 33-35. Please be aware that we provide pick-up and drop-off services exclusively within the city of Brașov, as well as for guests staying outside the old town. The pick-up time will vary based on the location requested. Additionally, we are happy to drop off guests at a different location than the pick-up point for an additional fee.
- We would like to inform you that Peleș Castle has recently implemented a new ticketing system. Starting now, all tickets must be purchased online, in advance, for a specific entrance time and date. Please note the following important details: Tickets are only available online. Kindly check the ticket voucher for the link. Each time slot is limited to 500 visitors only. Tickets must be booked for specific entrance windows: Wednesday: 10:00 – 12:45 / Thursday to Sunday: 09:15 – 11:00.
- Starting August 1st, 2025, guided tours inside Bran Castle will be conducted exclusively by the Castle’s official guides or independently, without being accompanied by our tour guide, due to Bran Castle’s new policies—more details on their website.
- Starting November 1st, the company that manages the ticketing at Peleș Castle decided that guides must also pay the entrance fee. Following this new rule, our guides will no longer accompany guests inside the castle. They will share the historical information and insights before and after your visit.

We had the BEST day with our amazing guide, Tudor. He made our experience to Peles, Bran, & Rasnov perfect! I would highly recommend him to anyone. He's communicative, knowledgable, and concise. He's able to convey all the cultural and historical facts and information you would be interested in remembering without bogging you down with the ones you'd forget. In addition, we were the very first group into Peles castle which made for a perfectly peaceful experience with great photo ops compared to the hundreds of people lined up in queues behind us! He catered the entire experience to our small group of three people (myself, my partner, and one other perfectly matched traveler who we enjoyed being with) What a perfect day to learn more about Romania, it's history, and see the beautiful sites. It turned out that I was the only one on this tour and thankfully they didn't cancel. I was picked up a little late but it turned out fine. Got into Peles Castle at the front of the line 😄 which was amazing! I had a wonderful day and was in absolute heaven seeing 2 amazing castles and the fortress!

When I was booking my trip it showed 3 places / castles to visit . Unfortunately my trip includes only 2 castles-Bran and ruins in Râşnov.In my opinion it was a bit overpriced for only those 2 attractions.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that the tour felt overpriced. To clarify, you booked and paid for a tour that included two visited sites, not three: Bran Castle and Râșnov Fortress.
The price you paid was 46 euros, which covered not only the visits, but also transport, organization, and guide service for a small-group tour from Brașov. You were also the only tourist on the tour, which effectively made it a private experience. While it would be ideal if 46 euros included every castle in Romania, plus a private guide and transport, this tour included exactly the sites listed in your booking.

This was perfect for solo travelers. Tudor was a great guide. I highly recommend for solo or couples.

Decent tour to check Peles castle (a must), Brans castle (disappointing exhibition) and Rasnov (passable). Tour guide knowlegeable but without providing much info on the tour itself, would've been good to have a better sense for the whole plan and tour logistics. Excellent remote support to arrange the tickets to the castles.

Had an absolutely amazing day with Tiberiu. He picked us up close to our accommodation and brought us to the amazing Peles Castle and gave us a tour inside. Then we headed to Bran Castle and did an independent exploration as external guides are not allowed within the castle to give tours. We had prebooked the entry tickets with the info they had provided so felt like a very smooth day. Lucky that it was fairly quiet around with Easter being on so not too crowded but really enjoyed the entire day, all the information provided and great chats!

Our guide, Charlie, was super personable and informative! We had a wonderful time exploring Peles, Bran, and Rasnov. The timing was great with plenty of time to stop for a coffee and breakfast. We also had time for a wonderful lunch with a view of Bran castle. We did a lot of walking so definitely wear comfortable shoes and bring some cash for vendors and shops. The tour guide Simon is very knowledgeable, friendly and easy going. We had an absolutely fantastic day trip visiting Peles Castle, Bran Castle, and the Rasnov Fortress with our guide, Charlie. He was the highlight of our tour, making the entire experience memorable with his insightful commentary, great sense of humor, and incredible patience with our group.
Charlie went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable. My wife has dietary restrictions, and he provided the best recommendations for lunch, finding a place that could easily accommodate her needs. He was also very flexible, allowing for extra time when we needed it and making sure there were plenty of bathroom breaks. If you are looking for an experience you will treasure forever this is it! Our fabulous tour guide, Dan, was beyond outstanding! The depth of his knowledge and love of the history of each castle and the rulers was nothing short of amazing! He truly brought each room of every castle to life with the backstory of each ruler and their lineage. He is masterful with the depth of every piece of armor, weapon, tapestry, furniture, painting, carving, statue… absolutely every item you see Dan knows the history behind it. We were delighted with his beautiful voice on our drive through the stunning countryside with the Carpathian Mountains and small towns , each of which he also knew the history of. Dan brought an element of delight and wonderment to each place we visited. We probably took 500 pictures but without Dan’s knowledge and background they would have far less meaning. We can not thank Dan enough for spending his day with us and teaching us so much about his beautiful homeland and the history of Romania. We met as strangers, but there is no doubt we left as family. We laughed together, and cried together.

This was an incredible experience. Peles Castle was particularly fantastic and our guide made sure we were the first people in by waiting in line right away, which really made the experience that much more enjoyable. There was only 4 of us in the group so it very much felt like a private tour. I learned a lot and the guide both was friendly and spoke perfect English! I highly recommend going with this company.
As a side note it is important to book your ticket to Peles Castle ahead of time. The guide will inform you what time slot to book.

I loves Peles Castle, Bran Castle was not my cup of tea, I recommend staying outside and enjoy the street vendors, the inside was small cramped and was like a maze that you couldn’t escape. With narrow hallways and passages it was overcrowded. The fender selling food before the entrance was really great. The food was good. The beer was good. Art tour guide was good and very knowledgeable. His driving was a little crazy. I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride flopping all over the place, lol all in all, I would recommend the store.

I was meant to be in a group with 2 more people who cancelled, so ended up having a private tour which was amazing!
Dan called me the night before to make sure I book an online ticket beforehand for Peleş Castle (honestly, one of the most impressive castles I've seen! Don't miss it). He picked me up and once we arrived at Peleş (and everywhere else) he knew EVERYONE which allowed us to enter swiftly and see everything.
We then continued to see Bran Castle and Raşnov Fortress, as described in the tour. Dan also stopped at "Cantacuzino" Castle, where the Netflix show 'Wednesday' was filmed (but we just saw it from the outside).
Dan is incredibly knowledgeable and bombarded me with so many historical facts and details of the places we saw, Romanian history and also his personal story (having lived in Braşov all his life), that I regret not having taken a notebook, as there's no way to remember it all. I didn't have to read any signs at the castles, as Dan knew all the details for each painting, item and architectural detail. Absolutely amazing!
He also kept me entertained by singing karaoke versions of hits by Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé and Adele. If I had a better singing voice, I would have joined in, but unfortunately I wasn't blessed in that regard.
Overall, I had an amazing day and really enjoyed the tour. Dan made me feel comfortable and I left having learned a lot in one day. Highly recommend.

I was the only person on the trip which made it feel like a private tour, which is not for everyone.
Entry to Bran castle is mandatory and should have been mentioned in the booking otherwise the trip is pointless and this could have been done easily without taking a tour guide. I enjoyed the trip but the guide not sure.

First of all, take the Peles Castle addition. I cannot say enough about how extraordinary Peles is. Don’t miss it. Bran and Rasnov were also quite interesting and scenic. In each case our guide provided informative and entertaining commentary, and really helped us understand the history and the personalities who shaped these places. This is an excellent tour, highly recommended.
