Excellent tour, well worth it for our family

Megan_G, Dec 2025
Absolutely fantastic day with Barry, he was a wonderful, informative guide who catered for our family of all ages with excellent suggestions on the day and for other days in Belfast. He was really interesting and helpful, and a lovely guy. Would definitely recommend, we saw everything we wanted to and more, his driving was faultless, his knowledge limitless!

Experiencing Derry - Real, Raw and Riveting

Craig_M, Nov 2025
This is the only way to experience Derry and to get a true perspective of the events that unfolded over centuries, the brutal oppression of Catholics and those who have only ever sought fairness, equality with others, hope for themselves and their families and a united Ireland. Barry’s passion and analysis was in abundance and he helped make this more than just a tourism experience - it was an awakening. I cannot recommend this experience more fulsomely if you want a no holds barred, authentic understanding of Derry. This is so much more than just walking in the footsteps of The Derry Girls (although we were proud to do that too!).

Insider’s look at Derry

Valerie_M, Aug 2024
This was a wonderful tour. Barry is very knowledgeable and friendly. We received an insider’s view of Derry and saw a lot in a short amount of time. Walking the walls was a highlight. Barry also connected us with his wife, Paula, for a tour of Belfast’s murals, which we also enjoyed very much. Thank you, Barry and Paula!

Response from Host, Aug 2024

Hi Valerie It was a pleasure to meet you and your lovely family and show you around Derry/Doire/Londonderry and Belfast! Best Wishes Barry and Paula 🇺🇲🍀☘️

Great Derry Londonderry Experience

Christina_H, Jun 2024
This small group tour was a great experience with exceptional service. Paula, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, personable and fun to talk to and learn from. And an extremely competent driver especially when we hit fog. We really enjoyed spending the day with her, walking around, and were thoroughly engaged seeing points significant to Derry’s/Londonderry’s history. Would highly recommend taking this tour for an in depth and more personal experience!

Response from Host, Jun 2024

Pleasure to meet you both Christina and take you on your tour. Wishing you both all the best for the upcoming studies and retirement. Safe travels back to New York. Thanks so much Paula

Our guide, Paula, was engaging and informative. She spoke very knowledgeably about the history of Ireland, and in particular about Derry. The information was presented in an unbiased format, and she willingly shared her experiences growing up in Northern Ireland. We had quite an enjoyable day.

GREAT Tour!

Kerry_R, Oct 2023
I was travelling by cruise ship, and since I had been to Belfast twice before, decided I wanted to visit Derry. Barry picked me up promptly at the ship, and we started our journey to Derry. We chatted about the troubles in Derrys past, and everything else. I walk with a cane and he was very attentive to my needs and restrictions. I felt i saw it all in 1 day. Went to a wonderful pub for lunch. Terrible traffic going back to ship, but Barry navigated it well, and we arrived in plenty of time. All in all a fantastic day.........thanks Barry.

Response from Host, Oct 2023

Thanks Kerry it was lovely to meet you and take you up to Derry! As for the crazy traffic getting back to the ship on time was fun! All the best and hope to see you again soon. Barry

Barry was an excellent tour guide and provided a well-paced and informational tour of Derry. He picked us up from our hotel with a clean van and was pointing out barious points of interest on our way to Derry. When we arrived, he started by explaining the history of the city from early settlement through the Troubles before taking us on a walk along the Bogside to see the murals, the memorials, and the Free Derry Corner. Unfortunately, the Free Derry Museum was closed (we went on a Sunday), but Barry had a plan and took us to the Tower Museum where we saw great exhibits on the Spanish Armada and the history of Derry. From there, we saw the Peace Flame, Peace Bridge, and Guildhall before having lunch. After lunch, we walked the city wall and Barry explained a bit about the current political situation. We ended the day by stopping for a drink at the Ponderosa, Ireland's highest pub on the way back to Belfast. It was a great way to end the tour. Barry was attentive throughout the day and provided a flexible tour schedule with a ton of information. I highly recommend this tour.

Best tour to take out of Belfast

Phillip_B, Jul 2022
This private tour to Derry was just the perfect choice to see a little bit more of Ireland and really learn its history. We didn't know what to expect, we had seen most of the attractions near Belfast already, so this was no disappointment at all. Barry our driver/guide picked us up at the Cruise Port at the agreed time, he was very knowledgeable, really knows the history of Ireland, the good, the bad, the wars, everything, he has many photos and visual aids to help you understand everything that happened in the town of Derry and in all of that part of Ireland. It was a well paced tour, even for my father who has its walking difficulties, Barry was always very accommodating bringing the car to us so he would not walk too far. We first saw the murals around the town, then we visited the museum that was well worth it, the Bloody Sunday Memorial, later went to the walled part of the city, saw the Guildhall, Peace flame, Peace Bridge and walked a bit in the town walls. Finished with lunch at the oldest pub in town The River Inn, which dates back to the 1680's, which offers very nice selection of food and drinks at a very good price. Overall a really good tour, well worth your while if you have seen all other attractions around Belfast and want to go deeper into Irish history, also with the best guide you could get. Highly recommended!

Busy Day in Derry

Our private tour to Derry was excellent! Barry was very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. We tailored the tour so I was able to see my family’s town and local churches. We then continued on to Derry to take in all the sights including, the Derry murals, Bloody Sunday memorial, Guild Hall and Peace Bridge. I would highly recommend this tour.
