Interesting tour with highlights & drawbacks

The tour was overall interesting, with both highlights and drawbacks. Minus: The tour started with more than 40 minutes of delay due to poor organization and lack of communication, which was quite frustrating. Plus: The museum was genuinely fascinating, and we especially enjoyed the pirogue boat tour. The guide who paddled for us was kind, knowledgeable, and made the experience very pleasant. Minus: We expected to have time for lunch at Lamin Lodge since it’s also a restaurant, but instead we were rushed to the next stop even though we were hungry. Having breakfast at 7 a.m. and then no proper meal until after 4 p.m. felt a bit extreme — was it some kind of Ramadan training? Despite these issues, we did see a lot, and it was a good overall experience for our first time in The Gambia.

Hochinteressante Tour, aber ziemlich unprofessionell organisiert

Mit dem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis waren wir vorab sehr zufrieden. Mit der Durchführung dann nicht so sehr, da uns zur angegebenen Abholzeit niemand abgeholt hat. Wir waren mit einem Kreuzfahrtschiff in Banjul und haben dann in der sehr exotischen Atmosphäre vor dem Hafeneingang noch weitere wartende und suchende Mitreisende getroffen. Nach diversen Telefonaten kam dann nach einer 3/4 Std. ein ziemlich in die Jahre gekommener Kleinbus, der die inzwischen 11 Personen - 3 davon hatten eine ganz andere Tour gebucht - aufgenommen hat und die Tour dann doch noch startete. Die Tour selbst war dann sehr interessant. Wir fuhren durch mehrere Orte weit ins Land hinein, gingen über einen Fischmarkt am Meer (Afrika pur) und fuhren anschließend an einen schönen Strand mit Bar, an dem wir fast alleine waren. Als wir wieder aufbrachen, kam noch eine kleine Reisegruppe von einem Aida-Schiff. Zusammengefasst haben wir die ausgeschriebenen Ziele gesehen, fanden die Tour und das Land ein bisschen kennenzulernen auch hochinteressant, nur die "Organisation" war ziemlich chaotisch bzw kaum vorhanden.
