Itinerary

Following a pickup at your Avignon hotel between 8am and 8:30am, transfer to the Avignon tourist office and take a seat in your vehicle. At 9am, travel out into the countryside with your guide to begin your tour. The lavender fields are in bloom from mid-June to early August each year, throwing a blanket of color across the rolling hillsides of Provence.

Stop in Aix-en-Provence — famous for its vibrant art scene — then visit Valensole with your guide. Here, stroll among the rows of purple flowers, and inhale the heady scent for which lavender is famous.

Visit the lovely village of Valensole, then continue on to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie — a town widely considered among the prettiest in France and popular for its pottery. Explore winding streets home to traditional potters, and admire fine views over the mighty cliffs towering over the town.

Visit the l’Occitane museum and shop in Manosque, then return in comfort to your departure point in Avignon to conclude your tour.

Loved the Lavender

David_H, Jul 2025
The fields of lavender are amazing. I could not believe the colour. Also enjoyed the village but more information about lavender processing would have been good.

Valensole is beautiful!

There is a lot of travel time to Valensole, but the visit is worth the time and effort. The lavendar fields are amazing! Bridget is a good guide and very accommodating to stopping where the group wanted. The lunch stop at Moustiers Ste. Marie is absolutely charming!

Worth the trip

Desiree_M, Aug 2023
The small group tour had a lovely guide/driver that took use to several stunning lavender fields before finishing off the tour in the gorgeous Moustiers Sainte-Marie. There wasn’t a stop in Aix-en-Provence as mentioned in the description but I don’t know how there would have been time to visit. I really recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see amazing lavender fields.

Best tour and guide for the best price!

Amazing tour! Our guide picked us up on time with a small group of others (total of 7 people), for a quick 1.5 hour drive to Lavensole. He patiently took us to multiple lavender fields picking the less crowded and most vibrant spots. We then we to a famous village on the edge of the French alps where he adjusted our schedule to give us more time to shop and tour around upon our request. Then we finished with a scenic view of the Verdon Gorge with awesome photos. Overall - great tour with flexible guide who wanted to give us the best experience. Highlight of our 3 week vacation!
