Very good tour, kept to...

Roselyn_G, Dec 2024
Very good tour, kept to time and well organised. It was definitely worth leaving at 4am. They accommodated drop offs for everyone i.e. airport, train station...etc

Great

Anton_K, Feb 2024
Pickup is on time, no stops on way there, 1 stop back, good English guide! Overall great experience considering the price.

Good Transportation, not a Guide.

Dulce_H, Dec 2023
The only good thing about this tour is the price for transportation, one day before they told me they couldn’t help me with transportation from Nubian village, that’s ok, but why they didn’t specify that in this app? They are supposed to at least help you to find a taxi, so in that case look for a transportation from your hotel to Asuán in advance. Second thing: they offered a “certified Egyptologist” but there were not even a single person to explain at least 10min about the temple, the driver just said “you have 2 hours, see you here at 10”, like what???? And also that’s not enough time because the line to get a ticket is almost an Hour or more because everything is so Unorganized. So if you just want transportation for a cheap price, this tour is for you, but if you want to have detailed information about the temple, look for something else.

Response from Host, Dec 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with us . It seams there was a misunderstanding from our side , our tour operator ( Mistakenly) identified your accommodation in Elephantine island, that why she asked you to hire a motor boat from the island to the mainland, and meet our representative at Elephantine island pier. We really feel sorry for that Mistake, on behalf of Egypt knight tours team members we apologise. About the guide , there was a guide as usual, and he explained as usual the temples high lights. Thanks

So restricted time to the Temple..

Panagiotis_K, Dec 2023
The van picked up us at 3:45 a.m. and the journey to Abu Simbel started at 4:45 a.m…. We were 3 h on the Van. When we arrived at Abu Simbel we had only 1h and 30min to buy a ticket, walking to the temple, listening the guide, visiting 2 temples and taking pics! I felt nervous. We travelled 6 h (totally) to enjoy the temple and we had so limited time !!! No relaxing, every 15 min I was checking my watch! We travel from thousands km abroad to visit the Temple, so let us to enjoy it! It’s not all about money !!!

Response from Host, Dec 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience. Abusimbel city is 290 KM south of Aswan , 3 hours drive , we can't increase the speed more than this as it's limited, and for the safety of our customers and drivers too . Looking every 15 minutes to your watch , this is out of our hands . Over all , all what you mentioned is a prove that we were committed with the schedule details. Thanks

Swift, safe, reliable transport

Tomas_M, Dec 2023
Needed to visit Abu Simbel in shortest possible time. Thanks ti Viator and Abusimnle Day Tour we managed the goal. Started 4 a.m. from Aswan - 8:45 arrived to place, spent comfortable 1 hour sightseeing and 13:30 were safely back! Exactly what we wanted but daren't to expect at first. Great, reliable service. Experienced drivers!

A very memorable experience.

Theophilus_N, Oct 2023
It was good. The driver came nice and early, showing up to our accommodation the night before and introducing himself. On the way Abu Simbel, we had a random, not previously disclosed stop that last for over an hour. The drivers said it was a checkpoint but gave us no reasoning into why we stopped for such a long period of time. This was nerve racking for me and my partner as we randomly had to stop for over an hour in the early hours of the morning in a foreign country with no explained reasoning, and the whole time we were wondering what the hell was going on. However, the journey resumed shortly afterwards and we were on our way to Abu Simbel. When we got there the organisers gave us a very good introduction and brief of the temple and the story behind its construction which was really fascinating. And then we were allowed to go ahead and explore the temples freely. I could've wished for a little more time but it was fine and I had enough time to explore both temples. The journey back was good and the driver also took me and my partner right near the airport which was great as we arrived early for the flights that we had a flight to catch that day. Overall it was a good experience. It would have just been nice if they explained what was going on when we stopped for so long. But it was still a good journey that I'll never forget.

Response from Host, Oct 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with Egypt knight tours. In addition to what you mentioned, at the southern side of Aswan city there is a check point, opens in certain times the high way we should use to reach Abusimbel, it's a security gate, leading to the borders of Sudan and we must show up a security permission we have already prepared the night before the tour, the official security permission includes all information of the trip, every single detail, that,s why we kindly ask all our guests to attach a photo copy of their passports and the accommodation details before the trip start. We apologise for the misunderstanding and the Lack of information from our side. Best regards.

Abu Simbel

Alessia_G, Oct 2023
Like any other of this kind, this tour consist in a 3 hour and a half road trip to get to Abu Simbel, then 2 hour stay, and other 3 hour to get back. Two hours are way too short too see Abu Simbel, also considering the amount of people that you will find, since every tour leaves at 4 am, so everyone gets there at the same hour, but this is a shared problem. Guides are not allowed into the temples, so they'll do a quick explanations (10 minutes) before giving you free time to visit. Our guide was good. We specifically picked up the option to leave at 3 am, to be there earlier than other tourists, but the tour operator wrote us that we would have left at 4 am anyway. We stayed at a Nubian Village near Aswan city, and they asked us to pay 300 extra EGP to send us a taxi that would have dropped us at the west sohail totok station, which is literally 10 minutes away by car, so definitely not worth the 30 EGP/minute. First of all, on the tour description isn't written anywhere that certain hotels are out of their pickup area, and second the highway that goes to Abu simbel begins near that station; the tour operator tried anyway to convince us that our pickup would have forced the other tourist to do a 45 minutes deviation to pick us up. It's fair to say that being absolutely identical to other tours that go to Abu simbel, this one is the cheapest one.

Recommend the tour

Charalambos_C, Aug 2023
The tour was excellent. The driver was on time at our hotel. The bad think it that the tour was supposed to include a guide but at the ticket office the forced us to pay extra 13,5 Egyptian pounds (student price) for a local guide

Response from Host, Aug 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience. The tour as you mentioned includes a local guide, the one escorted you upon arrival and explained the temples high lights. What you have paid at the tickets office, its a fee, goes to tour guides Syndicate and Abusimbel supreme council. You didn't pay us any extra fees for a guide. Thanks.

It wasnt enough time

JoseLuis_R, May 2023
It was only one and a half jour to visit both temples. It wasnt enough and every body ask you for a tip.

Response from Host, May 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with Egypt knight tours. There is a certain time for pickup, tour and drop off, it's a shared tour, different people from. Different places we gathere and all have schadual for the rest of the day. Regarding the tipping, no one of our crew asks for tipping, if you have met people in other places asks for tipping, it doesn't mean we are the same. Regards

Visit to Abu Simbel from Aswan

Eric_V, Apr 2023
Must type of tour. Everyone goes to abu simbel and majorly does it this way. Get up early (around 4 am) , arrive at Abu Simbel stay there for 1.5h and then leave. What is great about this tour is that we arrived at the first round and there still was few people. About the guide it just explained 10 min before letting you 1h to visit the temples. I expect more but I think that's how everyone is doing it... We stayed near Aswan city, at the Nubian Village and they asked us to pay an extra 300 egiptian liras to drop at the west sohail totok station which is not that far to pay the 300 extra and should be included / detailed in the tour information. (also, when we asked where would they pick us up they didn't specify saying that it's a "military point" so, be careful)

It's a very early morning...

Helen_H, Apr 2023
It's a very early morning start, but I managed to easily get from Elephantine to pick up point. The drivers were helpful and guide was very informative. I enjoyed this trip.

Poor quality tour, would not recommend

Peter_Z, Apr 2023
Tour was planned for a bad time - very early rise (3:45) in order to arrive at peak busyness. Tour organisation should take this into account and advise on better times to visit. Very little time on site, about 45 minutes. This is very little considering that its a 4 hour one way drive. Tour guide pretty aggressively asked for tips for a 10 minute introduction where he ignores most of the questions asked.

Response from Host, Apr 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience. There are 2 timings for the experience and you choose one of them, like others. Its just 3 hours drive 295 KM, not as you mentioned. No one of our guides asks for tipping, If any of the customers gave him tipping, that's a personal thing, he didn't ask you or others for tipping. Our guides usually explains the high lights, as they are not allowed to enter any of the two temples with the customers, and that's the policy of the Supreme council. Appriciated

Better to just get a bus there

Thomas_G, Apr 2023
Abu Simbel itself was excellent. The tour guide was not good, he kept losing everyone, and we also had to pay for entrance.

Response from Host, Apr 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with us. The entry tickets fees excluding the price you,v paid, and that's already exists in the tour schadual. You were a single, went with a 14 people, no one complained, except you. Can you please let us know what's exactly the problem, or the

Amazing

Krisha_P, Feb 2023
Abu Simbel is amazing and this tour was the best price. We had a tour guide but to be perfectly honest, with hindsight I would have just watched a documentary about Abu Simbel on YouTube beforehand and then just go and enjoy the time that you have there which is only about 90 minutes

No Guide, No Explanation

Ali_D, Jan 2023
The page explicitly said the tour included a licensed egyptologist as a guide, but there was no guide at all. They only dropped us off and picked us up. When someone in our group inquired about a guide upon arrival at Abu Simbel, they just told us to go and be back by 10am. I'm disappointed since my one chance to see Abu Simbel with a guide is passed due to false advertising. They need to advertise as being only a shuttle service.

Response from Host, Jan 2023

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. The truth is after being dropped off at the parking area, and gathering the group to go and get their entry tickets, you just disappeared, and came back to the parking area on time. Then you,v requested a refund from Viator, saying the driver and guide did not show up, which is not true, there were 9 more people that day, and got a guided tour.

Great tour! A must when visiting Abu simbel

Mariana_S, Jan 2023
This tour is an absolute must if you’re visiting aswan, Abu simbel is simply breathtaking and you can also appreciate the beautiful lake Nassar. The tour starts around 4am they pick you up from your hotel, communication before the trip was excellent!!! It takes around 3 hours to get there and you have around 2 hours to do Ramses and Nefertari’s temples which is plenty of time since they’re right next to each other, after that you drive back and you’re in aswan around 1-2. My advice for this trip would be to bring Egyptian pounds!! Most places won’t accept credit card or other currencies like USD or euro.

Response from Host, Jan 2023

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your experience with Egypt knight tours.

Day trip

Apoorv_B, Jan 2023
The transportation was nice and punctual. The guide at Abusimble was not good. Basically gave a 2 min speech and went away.

Response from Host, Jan 2023

Thanks for taking the time to review your experience. Let me tell you and tell everyone will read this, that the Supreme council of Antiquities prevents the guides to explain inside Abusimbel temples, thats why they usually gather our guests infront of king RAMESES ll temple, then explain the high lights for both temples, then give a free time to enjoy seeing the interior parts of the temples. Am sorry to say, it wasn't 2 minutes like what you mentioned, he spent the usual time of explaining the high lights which is 15 to 20 minutes.

Disorganized tour, not worth for 10 minutes guide for extra USD5

AbdulAziz_A, Dec 2022
I booked 2 tours from viator while in Egypt. One was really good and this was quite terrible - and this is what u get since Viator will use third party. First, lack of communication between tour operator and us. It was only after i sent a message through Viator that the tour aperator reached out to me to inform the meeting points, time etc. Second, though it says boats provided for those who stay in Elephantine island at extra cost, note that this can be misleading as ‘the paid provided boats’ only will pick u up at the jetty and not from your hotel. If you are staying on the other side of Elephantine island (like us) the jetty is 15 minutes walk through villages with stray dogs roaming in the middle of the night!! Third, the driver was 20 minutes late!! Texted and called the tour guide, late response! By the time we reached to the temples, we only had 1 and half hour!! we were lucky bcos the queue for that day was not long. Fourth, we paid extra usd5 per person for the guide, who while is knowledgeable, only briefed us for less than 10 minutes!!! Had I known this is the case, I would rather buy myself a guidebok. And the worst part, after we arrived to the site, the driver only told us to get back to our van at 10:00 am. Since I booked through viator, I knew that I paid the tour guide. However, the rest of the group left confused. Upon reaching at the site, everyone was not aware what to do. I helped some of them and most of them even not aware whether the tour that they booked include the guide/not. It was so messed up!! My advice, you can just book through your hotel/guest house which is way cheaper and convenience.

Not a fun ride

Salvatore_P, May 2022
The temples were amazing but not worth the drive there and back, the driver wouldn’t turn the AC up past the first notch at all even though it was over 100 F degrees outside. There was 12 of us smushed into this van. The drivers never said a word and pulled over for about 25 minutes with no explanation, got out of the van and left us there to sweat.

Response from Host, May 2022

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. First of all, the temperature wasn't, 100 degree, begging of drive it was dark,it was before tje sunrise. Number of people you mentioned unfortunately not correct, we have 2 different types of vehicles for that shared tour, one can get just 8 people plus 2 drivers, second which is a bus 15 plus + drivers, that's the policy of the tourism ministry of Egypt, we can't get more people than the mentioned numbers. For the driver being silent, what do you expect from him. For the AC, he turned it on after sunrise. Nothing you mentioned about the local egyptologist you,v met at Abusimbel, and he is the guide not the driver. Thanks

Great day trip to Abu Simbel

Jenni_Z, Apr 2022
Great tour that went as described. Hotel pick up and drop off was easy and on time. Communication with the tour operator was great. We had Just under 2 hours to explore the grounds and the tour guide - Ahmed was very informative. Would recommend this tour.

Response from Host, May 2022

Thank you so much, hope seeing you again.

Good driving in the...

Barbara_m, Mar 2022
Good driving in the minibus non stop 3 hrs then you have 2 hr in Abu Simbel I met the guide there he explained the temples outside as no guides allowed in the temples and 3 hrs back journey I started early 4 am and back to Aswan around 1.30pm

Response from Host, Mar 2022

Much appriciated, hope seeing you again.

Self guided tour only

YaYen_H, Jun 2021
It’s a self-guided tour (without any guide included!) The bus is quite comfy with airconditioner. But basically the driver just dropped people off at Abu Simble, you have 1.5-2 hours to look around and drive you back.

Fantastic tour

mohamed_k, Feb 2021
The Tour was very fantastic and tour Guide was very friendly und helpful . I recommend it for every visitor to Aswan

Great

jesmo430, Feb 2020
Exactly how it’s described. No frills abu Simbel. They even came back to get me after I was a little late to the pick up point.

Day trip well to Abu Simbel

Shafiq_S, Jan 2020
Small bus came to our river boat to pick us up at 4am. Our boat packed us a breakfast when we told them we are leaving early. The ride was fine, a number of stops picking up other travelers in the city. It was about a 3 hour drive, there was about 1.5 hours to see everything. It was enough time. They drove us back to our hotel. All good!

Response from Host, Jan 2020

thanks ,hope seeing you again

Good private trip to Abu Simbel

Yanshu_C, Dec 2019
The driver is very nice. Communication is also fine. The trip is good. Though 3 hours drive to Abu simbel but worth it!

Response from Host, Dec 2019

thanks for choosing Egypt knight tours much appreciated

Nice day

Konstantinos R, Jul 2019
Bus seats kind of uncomfortable but otherwise everything went smoothly.A simbel is amazing and it is worth the time .

Nice vehicle

Baber_J, May 2019
There was no guide. they provided us Only A/C transportation. And gave ous one hour to visit both temples.

Abu Simbel Temple

Tamboura_G, Aug 2025
It is a fairly long drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel. But it is a site not to be missed in Egypt. It offers a French guide for some explanations outside temples. Then it's a free visit to the temples.
