Grant_H, Oct 2025
Olivier our guide was Great! Olivier helped us with directions to get to Arras on train from Paris. The tour was absolutely amazing!! Olivier is a wealth of knowledge and was always telling us about every area we drove through. Vimy Memorial is a must see.

A completely immersive experience that brings you along the front lines of the Canadian military presence in WWI. Absolutely amazing guide in Olivier, thorough, organized and incredible relevant details, worth the time and costs. A marvelous day together, highly suggest this tour.

WWI Battlefield Private Tour including Vimy Memorial

ANN, Mar 2025
Excellent. Not to be missed. “Lest we forget “ Our guide Olivier was extremely knowledgeable. He had historical maps of the battlefield on the cars GPS System and as we drove through the countryside we discussed and could visualize how the front lines of the battles progressed over time.

Educational and Emotional

Dawn_M, Jan 2025
What an amazing education on WW1. Our Guide, Olivier, knew the history well and focussed our tour on the Canadian involvement in the war, as we are from Canada. We could easily visualize, and were emotionally touched, by the battles that took place there. We particularly enjoy the Lunch stop at Le Tommy, which is a cafe and war museum with items that you could touch. The Canadian monument at Vimy Ridge was spectacular! Highly recommend.

Vimy-Arras-Somme

Olivier was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area, WW1 participants, troop movements and tactics. Excellent for the person who wishes to know everything there is to know about the Vimy-Arras-Somme battles

Knowledgeable and courteous

Really enjoyed the historic gps maps as we were driven around. Oliver was very knowledgeable and courteous. He literally went the extra mile for us in the end. Enjoyed the lunch choice.

A Living Documentary

Courtnee_W, Oct 2023
You cannot ask for a better, more knowledgeable guide for a tour of the Western Front than Olivier. It was like being part of a documentary film. He was able to answer any question I had and paced the tour well. He was able to bring you to the battlefield in more than just the immediate physical sense, but recreate the front lines and trenches in a way that put you there mentally, as if the past had returned. It had been a dream of mine to walk the trenches and follow in the footsteps of the men of the Great War, and this experience was exactly what I’d hoped it would be.

A tour that explains the importance of Canada's contribution in WWI.

Dean_K, Oct 2023
Our guide, Olivier, took us to lesser known but just as important WWI war memorials in and around Arras and explained in detail the reason for the importance. He is an expert in WWI history and utilized historical maps and photos to enhance the oral history.

Vimy Ridge and Canadian WW1 Battlefields Tour - July, 2023

Richard_H, Jul 2023
My wife and I booked the Tour through Viator and had the good fortune of having Olivier Dirson as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, and gave us a detailed overview of Canada's WW1 battlefield engagements at Vimy Ridge and other key areas of operation along the Western Front. There was no question he could not answer, and we really enjoyed our day with him.

Absolutely Outstanding Canadian Tour

Gail_I, Jun 2023
Our guide Olivier was outstanding. He was so knowledgeable about the WW1 areas that we visited. We mentioned that we were from Newfoundland so he made an effort to make sure we had lots of time to spend at Beaumont Hamel. Our vehicle was comfortable and we were provided with water. Lunch was delicious at a quaint little restaurant with loads of memorabilia. I would highly recommend this tour for any Canadian interested in WW1 history.

Fantastic

Mark_S, Apr 2023
We were lucky to have Oliver as our guide. It seemed everywhere we drove with him he could situate us within the Canadian/British army experiences. Oliver was incredible. It felt like every where we were we were surrounded by history. It was history overload.
