Your experience definitely depends on your guide. The cruise ship was late arriving in port, but they were happy to wait for us. We had never been on an E-bike before. The guide gave us a quick tutorial, but didn’t tell us how to optimize our ride up the fjord. Definitely physically exhausting if not prepared.
Travel travelers should know and understand that this is a vigorous bike route a very steep mountain road. There are buses in cars as well to look out for. They should be very experienced e bike riders who are in excellent shape. Also, the E bikes require the use of the constant peddling and do not rely on the battery operation on its own.

Thanks for your review. You’re right—part of the route is a challenging mountain road with steep climbs and, depending on the time of day, we can find traffic along the way. It’s best for experienced e-bike riders who are up for a good workout. Our e-bikes give a nice boost but still require pedaling. ;) We appreciate you pointing this out for future travelers!
Best if you are a cyclist and/or you are in good shape. You have work hard to get to the top but worth it with the views. The group stopped for 3 rest stops which was well spaced. The descent was exhilarating and on the brakes all the time. David, our guide is knowledgeable about the area and in the bikes specifically. I felt that he could have given specific instructions on the operation of the bike in groups of 4-5. Other than that, no problems with David. Again experienced with cycling and being in decent shape recommended.
