Our tour guide was awful, he rushed us through the buildings, if we didn’t insist we wouldn’t have seen all of the monument. He didn’t take us to all of the external parts - it was foggy and hard to see but he did not consult us on whether we wanted to still see the gardens, he was only interested in taking us to the Marble shop called U.P marble Crafts Palace where items are 5 times the average price. He was rude and spoke to my partner in Hindi, aware I (female) did not speak it he purposefully left me out the conversation and was annoyed when I questioned the extra 300 rupees he claimed we need to pay. We found out we paid a high amount for tour and the entry, and then more on top was a scam. In the end we learnt more about his own personal life and the celebrities he met/took photos with than the Taj Mahal. Would not recommend and think the tour company should rethink who they get to provide tours.

Forget the Guide get Photographer

I purchased a skip-the-line ticket for an early morning Sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal, planning to arrive around 5:30 am for the optimal sunrise experience. However, I found that at this time, skipping the line didn't seem necessary as the crowds were minimal. Nonetheless, I was reminded that having this service could prove beneficial if a tour bus arrived before me. My suggestion would be to opt for the skip-the-line ticket if the price difference isn't significant; otherwise, the regular ticket suffices. As for choosing between a tour guide and a photographer, I would recommend the photographer without hesitation. While you can research the history of the monument online, a skilled photographer who understands angles and lighting can capture stunning images for you, providing soft copies that are truly valuable. Investing in a talented photographer to document your visit is a worthwhile choice, offering lasting memories of your Taj Mahal experience.

Poor business model

Viator business model is low, charging a high price for a ticket and to book a guide. When that is done you tell the customer has to pay a seperate and high fee to the tour guide!

My guide knew his way around the site and gave a decent amount of background information on the construction of the mausoleum and other buildings on the grounds. The tour didn't last as long as I anticipated; also, I asked to see the Taj Mahal Museum and was told there wasn't much to see; when I asked if I should visit the Agra Fort, the guide pooh-poohed that idea. An average experience.

Thank you for your valuable feedback, but we want to clear few things before that as the maximum time to visit Taj Mahal is 3 hrs which is decided by the authorities and we cannot do anything in that case and if you wanted more time you could have bought another ticket for that. Secondly Taj Mahal museum is situated inside the Taj Mahal and just next to the Royal Gate of Taj Mahal and you have to go through it to enter the Taj Mahal and whatever suggestions the Tour Guide gave was his personal suggestion and if you really wanted to spend time at the museum , you should have asked him to do so. Thirdly you booked with our company for only Taj Mahal Entry Tickets which involves visit to only Taj Mahal not Agra Fort, and again if you asked for a suggestion from the tour guide then it was his personal opinion. The tour guide was really helpful in explaining the history of the Taj Mahal and was very knowledgeable. He also helped navigate the chaotic lines / security checks. We didn’t like that at the end we were taken to these “shops” that weren’t on the itinerary and were clearly aimed at scamming tourists. It left a bit of a sour taste in an otherwise positive experience

Na verdade, ső valeu a pena comprar antecipado porque estavam me esperando na saída da lotada estação de trem de Agra (Agra Camtt a que fuca mais próxima do Taj Mahal). Ao chegar ao Taj, o rapaz da agência foi comprar o ticket de entrada (o guichê não tinha fila) enquanto eu esperava do mesmo jeito se eu tivesse de comprar. Não vale a pena esta cimpra antecipada.
