The soul reconnection is a wonderful experience. We learned , we cried, and we laughed with the people of the village. Kobe was an excellent tour guide.

A Restorative And Joyful Experience

What An Experience. Members Of The Diaspora Returning To The Motherland, This Is Experience To Do When In Ghana. Once out of the city you get to witness the glorious, tranquil and healing sight of Akosombo, and then your naming ceremony is spiritual and restorative. I'm addition, you get to also have lunch at a picturesque lakeside restaurant. Toufic was an exceptional, charming, knowledgeable and professional tour guide with a gift for connecting with people. I will be doing another experience upon my next trip to Ghana. Peace and Blessings

My Naming Ceremony was exciting and emotional

Fay_R, May 2024
I will treasure the entire experiences from the time Toufic collected me from my hotel, along the potholed roads, feeding the baboons along the road. The villagers were so welcoming. They let me have a go at making a clay pot which was great fun. Then there was my naming ceremony, I felt very moved and humble as I received my Ghanaian names. I felt a connection with the community. The entire trip is worth going on and can highly recommend it. Toufic is a true professional.

Touching experience

Saedra_W, Mar 2024
This was an experience I would never forget. Our tour guide Toufic was very professional and we felt comfortable and safe in his presence. He was knowledgeable, courteous and nice! The naming ceremony truly touched my husband and I. We felt so inspired and so welcomed to the village. We loved the dancing and the explanation that was provided for our new names. This experience was unmatched to anything else we did. It’s priceless. The truth is we almost canceled this tour because it was so expensive. THIS TURNED OUT TO BE THE BEST MONEY SPENT ON OUR TRIP! It worth the price! Tourfic even took us to a beautiful lunch on the lake! We will remember this forever.

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Thanks you both so much for taking the time to share your experience. It was great meeting you and a great pleasure to share knowledge and experience.

An incredible experience

Jemima_L, Jan 2024
I knew I wanted to do this experience before I stepped foot in Ghana and I’m sooo glad I did. As a first-generation American to Haitian-born parents, Togorme reminded me so much of my parent’s homeland. The people were welcoming and they felt so familiar. It truly felt as if we were family. The rituals were similar to those we see in Haiti. It felt nostalgic to be there and our local names truly resonated with who we were which was amazing as we had never been there before. The lunch that was provided was absolutely amazing. Our overall tour experience was made even more enjoyable thanks to our gracious and hospitable host, Toufic. His knowledge in so many areas and his love for meeting people was evident in the conversations held throughout the entire day. There was never a dull moment. He went above and beyond to show us Baboons when asked about them and he also took so many pictures for us. Overall, a truly welcoming and inspiring experience. The only constructive criticism I have would be to provide us access to bottled water sooner. It was a couple hours before we were able to hydrate in the Ghanaian heat. However, this was still a 5-star experience that I recommend to anyone who is a part of the African Diaspora.

You better book fast!

Ramiqa_H, Jan 2024
This was our first outing in the country and Toufic did everything to make sure this experience was memorable. The professionalism was consistent as well as safe driving there and back. He was there during the ceremony which was a bit helpful in regards to translating and giving understandings to traditions. I would recommend this to everyone returning home. Wish I could have learned how to continue to give to the village throughout the year. The next stop was lunch and the spot was sumply amazing on the water! Sad bc I couldn’t upload my photos but trust it was special.

Response from Host, Jan 2024

Thank you so much for taking time to share your experience. It was a great pleasure to share our knowledge and happy to be part of the memorable experience to the mother land.

A MUST!

Nicole_A, Dec 2023
This was the best tour I've ever done (and I've done many). Not only was this a spiritual, emotional, and culturally-connecting experience, but it was made all the better by Toufic's great knowledge, openness, and relatability! This tour is well-planned, well-thought out, and well organized. You get to see and experience different parts of Ghana during the drive to the village, get to see Lake Volta and learn some history of that region, and then have the very special, sacred experience of receiving your Ghanaian name. We are so glad we booked this tour and feel like we have made not a friend, but family in Toufic. This tour is a must-do for anyone traveling to Ghana!

Response from Host, Dec 2023

Wonderful Experience

YMC, Sep 2023
This was the most awe inspiring experience, every black person in the world should take this tour. If you truly want to see a native village with the children, elders, and the community and how they live and interact, this is the tour to take. The naming ceremony is so touching, you can’t help but to experience a closeness to your roots and an appreciation for the kindness of the people. DEFINITELY should be added to any trip to Ghana. It is safe, Kobe was an excellent tour guide, couldn’t ask for anyone better.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

A must have experience

Norissa_W, Jul 2023
This was such an amazing experience. Toufric, our guide, was warm and friendly. He shared so much cultural knowledge with us en route to the ceremony. He answered every question we had, and really enriched the experience. I chose this experience because I wanted to make sure I was selecting something that wasn’t a quick, commercial, surface-level experience. I assure you, it is not. The community was warm and you really felt a part of it. As people descended from kidnapped and enslaved W Africans, it was just what we needed to reclaim parts of ourselves lost. I highly recommend this experience. I’m sure others are good, but this one was amazing!
