Itinerary

After being picked-up from your central Dubai hotel, leave the city behind and soak up the scenery as you cross the border into Abu Dhabi. After around a two-hour drive, arrive in the UAE capital and make a beeline for the city’s most photographed monument – the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Admire the architectural masterpiece, with its gleaming white façade, 82 domes, and glittering gold chandeliers, and learn how it’s one of the world’s largest mosques.

Continue along Abu Dhabi’s Corniche and admire the scenic waterfront, lined with sandy beaches and beautiful parks, en-route to the Abu Dhabi Heritage Village. Then, immerse yourself in Abu Dhabi culture as you explore the recreated oasis village, stopping to peek into the spice shop and watch the traditional handicrafts demonstrations. Finally, make a quick stop at the Date Market to soak up the buzzing atmosphere and perhaps purchase some delicious dates, before heading over to Ferrari World.

Spend the rest of the day exploring Ferrari World, the world’s biggest indoor theme park, located on Yas Island. Follow the inspiring story of Ferrari’s long road to fame and success, marvel at the luxurious cars on display in the Ferrari Gallery, and get your adrenaline pumping on over 20 thrilling rides, including a Junior Grand Prix, a go-kart track, and the Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster.

After a fun-filled afternoon at Ferrari World, meet back up with your guide for the return trip to Dubai, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Allow plenty of time to get through passport control in Abu Dhabi to go out to your pickup point. If you want to go to the mosque, you need to reserve a ticket online ahead of time. Make sure you bring something that completely covers your arms and legs. I thought I was covered enough but there was about three inches of my arm showing in my sleeve so I had to stop and buy an abiya. I thought our guide could have skipped the tour of the Mandarin Oriental hotel and spent that time in the historical museum instead.

... And the car was COOL!

Great few hours in Abu Dhabi

We opted for a long layover in Abu Dhabi on our return from our holiday. As it was Grand Prix weekend all the day stay hotels were full. We researched this trip and booked for 4 hours. Ameer was brilliant. He took us to all the usual AD hotspots but also responded to our request and took us to one of the new islands to watch the spectacular sunset. As we weren’t dressed appropriately for the Grand Mosque, he took us there as our last stop so we could see the building at night time from a distance. What a spectacle that was.

Unfortunately, my experience was a big let down and the tour wasn't as described in the advertisement. I was passing through Abu Dhabi overnight so I opted for a 9pm - 12am tour, my guide, Ameer, had limited knowledge of the city and I felt very vulnerable alone with him on this tour. I would not recommend this tour to solo female travellers.

We have used a dozen or so private tour guides and always fear the car that's dirty, the guide who doesn't show up or a sloppy, careless or too-rigid itinerary Nothing could be further from the truth with this company. Best of all was Amer, our driver and guide. He knew his stuff but most of all, every ticket taker and gatekeeper knew him and we bypassed the lines at the Sheik Zayed Mosque and the Louvre and more. There were five of us -- all experienced travelers -- and we all agreed: this was a lifetime half day with a wonderful gentleman. He met us at the cruise port and allowed us to customize our tour. We skipped the Disney-esque Heritage Site (but saw the crowds as we passed) opting to go inside the Louvre and the Mosquewhere we spent an hour each, both of which are fantastic.
