The best sloth experience!

One of our favorite experiences, I felt very natural, the wildlife viewing was incredible, we saw many sloths, howler monkeys, poison dart frogs, Oripendola, Macaws and much more. Our guide Mauricio was amazing, his knowledge was extensive, and he turned our walk into a sensory experience, we were able to smell the different plants, taste the fruit and interact with the environment in ways we never have with any other tour company. This is a must do if you are in the La Fortuna area..

Amazing Day at Mistico

It’s a terrific place. We learned a lot about the rain forest, Costa Rica and about all of the wildlife. It was a great experience, but if you are afraid of heights you might have an issue crossing all of the hanging bridges. Go early. We had a 7 am tour and got to see so much wildlife.

Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a way to see a lot of what La Fortuna offers in a day. For the price you get multiple activities and lunch. Our guides, Rony and Manuel, were knowledgeable and friendly. Not only did we get to see the volcano and waterfalls, but I learned a lot about the history of Costa Rica and the local flora and fauna. They went above and beyond to make sure we were able to see sloths, toucans, a howler monkey, and much more. The lunch was delicious and the hot springs seemed like an added bonus after everything else.

Valeria was great!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such an amazing experience on the coffee and chocolate tour, and Valerie made it unforgettable! She was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and so much fun to spend the afternoon with. She made the entire 2½-hour tour fly by while taking us through the fascinating journey of how coffee and chocolate are grown, processed, and made. She answered every question we had, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and you could tell how passionate she is about what she does. The samples were delicious, and she even continued to help us after the tour ended by giving us recommendations and answering additional questions. If you have the chance to take this tour, I highly recommend asking for Valerie. She truly made the experience so enjoyable, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip!

A great way to experience some of the La Fortuna “must sees.”

A long day but totally worth it. Our guide for the day was Albert. He was great, and explained everything in English and Spanish as we went along. It was a very rainy day and the volume of the waterfall was too intense for swimming, but the hike down (and back up) was beautiful. We opted to hang out in the café to dry off a bit because it was pouring rain, before we continued on to the Arenal volcano hike. Even in the rain, it’s worth doing the hike to the base of the volcano, but I imagine it’s spectacular if you are lucky enough to do it on a clear day. Albert provided facts on the volcano and was constantly on the lookout for wildlife that he pointed out as we trekked. For us though, the highlight of the day was the Mistico hanging bridges. Besides the spectacular scenery and the bridges themselves, there was plenty of wildlife to see including howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, and even an eyelash viper. Beautiful place, and very easy to hike on the paved trails. We decided to skip the final stop at the hot springs because we had a day pass to one of the hot springs resorts the next day, and instead, had them drop us off at our hotel - Lost Iguana - which was very close to the Mistico Hanging Bridges. They were very flexible and agreeable about doing. Overall, a great day, and we slept like babies.

Great experience of ages and abilities

Mistico is beautiful and very easy walk for all ages and abilities be it self guided or with a guide. We went self guided and although had an amazing time did not see too many animals. This was most likely due to monsoon style rain when we attended. That being said having done guided tours elsewhere there is no doubt that you will see more with a guide and be shown things that you would simply miss unless you are somewhat of a expert spotter for small camouflaged animals.

So much nightlife!

We had so much fun exploring the rainforest at night! Our family of five was guided by Christopher on a 2-hour tour. We were shocked at the amount of critters we were able to see on this hike...everything from raccoons, snakes, frogs and spiders to beautiful vegetation and so much more! Chris was knowledgable, friendly, and let us set the pace of the tour. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for something adventurous and educational!

So much fun!

What a great adventure for our family! As first time zipliners, we felt super safe with the practice course and professional staff! We literally flew through the rainforest and got glimpses of sloths, toucans, and so much more! A special shoutout to Alberto for his care and understanding of working with our child with Down syndrome! He worked so well with him and helped provide an unforgettable experience for our whole family! The rest of the staff was outstanding, too! Informative, engaging, and so much fun to be around! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica! Pura vida!

Amazing Night Hike - Favorite experience in costa rica

Neifram was an amazing guide! He provided so much information that was interesting and you can tell he is very passionate about what he does. Better than I could ever imagine!!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is the most thoroughly exhilarating experience I’ve ever done and I do rock climbing, and I’ve done zip lining before but never a combination moving through a beautiful canyon with waterfalls, zipping across the canyon and jumping through small waterfalls moving through the canyon down to where the stream meets the river. Our guides Jose, JC, Johnathan, and Cesar were amazing fast and kept everything funny, light and made sure we got through the challenging course without losing our nerve. The canyon is beautiful and it poured rain right before we left so the river was swollen and amazing adventurous. I can’t wait to do it again the next time we come. Photos don’t do it any justice. Highly recommend!!!!!

Fun experience on ATVs!

The guides were great - very patient with all of us and especially helpful when I fell (twice! - both my fault) and needed to finish the ride on the back of our leader’s ATV. Communication before the ride in regards to where we would meet up was also very clear and helpful. Would recommend Original Arenal ATV to all looking for an adventure.
