This is a great place to visit and the ferry was a nice ride. The tour guide however was super slow and we eventually just took off on our own and got to see so much more of the island. I would buy only the self guide package.

Wonderful experience, but too short of an excursion, we did not have enough time to see the exhibits on the museum. I felt rushed. Our guide was very knowledgeable.

Let me separate the tour from the place. Delos is fantastic and well worth the time and effort to get there.
This tour however, left us feeling rushed. The transfer from our hotel to the old port was over 15 minutes late which put us under significant pressure to get to the boat on time. The crossing was rough but enjoyable.
There are not enough toilets at Delos port which led to delays in starting the tour. The tour guide was very pleasant with good English but she spoke way to fast and we missed some of the commentary. The Whisper audio system was also affected by the wind which was quite strong. The tour only covers some of the site and there was not enough time to explore it ourselves - 4 hour trip of which 1 hour is spent on the boat, 30 mins gathering for tour guide, 90 mins on tour , 15 mins to make sure you catch the boat back only leaving 45 mins free time for the museum (which has some great exhibits) and the site itself (which is huge). There are plenty of info boards and the free map has a lot of information.

I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it was. Our guide Celia was knowledgeable about the cite and gave us a lot of pertinent and valuable information. She was awesome!!!
The tour itself was organized and efficient. We checked in at the port office at around 9:20am for our 10:00am tour and got our tickets to board the ship. Once we arrived to the island, Delos, our guide Celia quickly gathered us all up and gave us our entry tickets. We avoided the long lines to get in.
The tour itself was amazing. Too much to see.
The tour lasted 90 minutes, after which we had time to explore the island on our own. We had 3 available times to depart the island. 1:30, 3:00 and 8:00.
The entrance to the museum was included with our entry. The museum is a must! Make sure to get a map of the island from the museum so you know what you are seeing and choose your route. But you are free to roam the ruins on your own. Enjoy!

Great 1/2 day tour of Delos. Made very special by our very nice & knowledgeable tour guide. Recommend when visiting to wear hats & bring sunscreen which we didnt

Tough to handle
The boat trip was aweful
The 40 mph wind was exhausting
Mykonos winds are normal
You need to issue a warning
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your feedback.
We understand that the windy conditions made your experience less comfortable than expected. Please note that strong winds are a common weather characteristic of Mykonos, especially during certain periods of the season.
The vessels used for our tours are certified passenger ferries designed to operate safely in local sea and wind conditions. The safety of our guests is always our highest priority. We continuously monitor weather forecasts and follow the guidance of the local port authorities. Whenever conditions are deemed unsafe, tours are cancelled accordingly.
While the weather on the day of your trip remained within the approved operating limits, we appreciate your suggestion regarding wind warnings and will take it into consideration to help future guests better prepare for the conditions they may encounter.
Thank you for sharing your experience.

Fascinating day on the island of Delos! So much history to see and learn about. A tour to remember :)
Daniel_J, Jun 2026
Started with an efficient check-in and boarding onto the boat. The use of the headphones was a plus, so we could hear our guide, no matter how far away we were from her. Our guide Celia was very knowledgeable and could answer all our questions. She was engaging and had a lot of fun facts to share about Delos. The island was an archeological treasure and it was awesome to be able to walk through the "city" and admire so much of the original structures and artifacts, including sitting in the marble seats of the theater. The museum was small but full of amazing sculptures, etc.
Note: Actual time spent on the island was about 2.5 hours, as it was about 20-25 min boat ride each way. Having another 30 minutes more would have been better, as we did not have time to walk up to the Temple of Isis, without missing time spent im the museum.

This tour of Delos was informative and entertaining both. Our guide told us about its history as well as why Delos became the flourishing commercial hub that it was and then also explained its decline. Standing in the places where traders and sailors lived and transacted business was moving, especially as we listened to the same wind and waves. We’re very grateful to our guide for her knowledge and explanations but also consideration of our various previous knowledge and our abilities.

A very interesting site to visit as it is an uninhabited archaeological site and also sanctioned by UNESCO. Highly recommended, especially if you’re a history buff. Our guide, I cannot remember her name (we were in Group 2 , 10am tour) was so knowledgeable and that it was such a lovely experience learning about Delos.
Dana_G, Jun 2026
Great experience to learn about Greek mythology and how they lived. We had an amazing tour guide. It’s amazing the items that have been discovered. Just would have liked more time to explore!!
Kristin_L, Jun 2026
Our guide Lia was very good both in her knowledge and communication in English. The boat trip to the island was well organized and handled well. Reduced to 4 stars as the communication equipment was not effective - ill-fitting over the ear pieces with limited range devices. A lot of static and not effective at any reasonable distance.

There's a LOT to see on Delos, & I definitely wouldn't have gotten as much out of the visit if I'd done it without a guide. Mine was excellent, (unfortunately can't remember her name now). There's so much to see, in fact, that it doesn't leave much time for the museum. I think they should have more boats sailing to/from Mykonos so that time isn't as tight. Speaking of, you need to get to the boat at least half an hour before sailing time if you want a seat, going & returning. Heed the admonitions to bring water, and wear sunblock & a hat!!
TRINITY_S, Jun 2026
It is a must when in mykonos one of the highlights of my trip in mykonos greece greek mythology has always been something ive been fascinated with as well as passionate about and to go to a place where the myths came from was something else for sure

Very informative and entertaining. Our guide did a great job. Would highly recommend. We don't remember her name but she reminded us of Gal Gadot
Robert_D, Jun 2026
The trip was a bit expensive. We paid for the guided tour and then were informed the morning of the trip that we needed to pay an additional $20 per person for some kind of fees. We thought our guide Celia was great, but we felt a little taken advantage of with extra fee.
Courtney_C, Jun 2026
Bring water and maybe a snack because there is nothing offered on the island. Sunscreen and/or a hat is smart too as there is little shade. We enjoyed our tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. Only unfortunate parts were the museum was underwhelming and we were told there was a gift shop but it was closed/nonexistent.
Leanne_G, Jun 2026
Fantastic tour guide - very friendly and knowledgeable (an archaeologist who works on the island). It is a fantastic place and one that you could revisit and still find something new.
However, you do not get the chance to experience the whole site within this tour so I went back the next day and explored it alone. You can easily spend all day here (bring your own lunch and refreshments) but advisable to wear flat shoes!
Dana_A, Jun 2026
The tour is about 90 minutes and then about an hour is left for free exploration of the museum or other areas not included in the tour
Chris_S, Jun 2026
The transfer to the island of Delos is well organised. The ferry is crowded but well-equipped. The tour is very interesting, and the history is fascinating. Tour groups are around 20 people, and the whisper earphones tend to lose connection around the buildings of the old town, so stay close to the guide.
Delos is a very hot location, there are no trees or shade, so remember a hat and sunblock. Also, there is no shop on the island, so buy plenty of water on the boat before leaving. We saw several people who had not come prepared really struggling.
Bob_L, Jun 2026
We had a great tour guide who was an archeologist and very knowledgeable about the history of the island. Definitely worth taking the tour with some extra time to shop or get a bite to eat in Mykonos.
KAREN_K, May 2026
The museum and the guide need to show why it was like when thriving. Otherwise it’s very hard to visualize. Use pictures or video.
Irene_W, May 2026
This is tendered to the new port, then you need to take a SeaBus to the old port, to meet the boat to Delos island. Can't see why tge tender couldn't go to the old port, too.
Our guide, Janna, was excellent! She gave a clear explanation of each of the areas we visited.
Patrick_A, May 2026
Just that Delos is worth the visit. The guide was an archaeologist. She knew what it was about...and more!
Jose_V, May 2026
Great tour to learn all about Delos history and Greek mythology. Excellent value for the money
The boat trip was very pleasant and nice.
Paul_M, May 2026
Great tour, if you do not want to spend a lot of time going around the island by yourself. It was the perfect timing for us. We had a relatively small group and the guide was good
Jeff_S, May 2026
archeologist tour guide for the island made the whole experience amazing.
Singing was clear to get to boat.
Be ware that some cruise boats do not tender you into port with much time to spare to make the 1000 AM boat. the walk from the tender port to the Delos Tour boat only takes 10 min, no need to take the water taxi, walking is quicker.
James_K, May 2026
You get a lot more out of visiting Delos with a guided tour. The museum is a must see as well. Boat ride is about 30 minutes.
Nina_P, May 2026
Ferry ride was about a half hour. Comfortable and scenic. Drinks and snacks limited but available. 3 hour tour of UNESCO heritage site was good use of our time. Lena our English speaking guide was helpful in her explanations and very knowledgeable. Ear piece doesn’t really work for kids. Not the best place for very young children. Museum was okay. Lots of uneven cobble stone walking but was expected, so best to wear comfortable running shoes and sunny no shade so a hat is recommended. Other tours at same time but morning tour was the least busy but school kids were also present. No gift shop.
Laurie_E, May 2026
