The tour was well organised and the operator communicated well to ensure all questions were answered and we felt prepared for the day. The pick-up was smooth, stops were punctual and the guide (Hubert) was very professional and informative. I learnt a lot and it was very emotional. The importance of this place cannot be overstated and the tour guide really honoured that.

Very well organised. They kept me updated on the pick up time and location and picked us up on time. The bus was comfortable and the drive smooth. Took us about 1 hr 15 mins to get to Aushwitz. The tour guide was very knowledgeable a d explained everything in detail. The tour can guide a bit overwhelming and mentally disturbing , and nothing can prepare you for that

  • [PHOTOS] Photography is allowed except in marked areas. Flash is not permitted inside buildings.
  • [RENOVATIONS] Due to roadworks in western Krakow, pickups in that area are not possible. The Straszewskiego 19 meeting point is temporarily closed. We will arrange a nearby alternative if needed.

The tour was very informative but the pace of it was a bit fast for how much there was to take in. Not the tour guide's fault but it was so overcrowded getting into some of the spaces was impossible so left people outside listening to the commentary on a headset. It's a truly harrowing experience/place everyone should visit once. Our guide was good and very knowledgeable - all comms were smooth.

Really well run & organised. Only thing is if you book a time slot then expect it to change time after you have booked it as it can change by a couple hours but apart from that really good trip with this company. They message you on whatsapp with pick up location & times and very helpful if you have any questions ect.

It is a very harrowing experience. The tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. It is an early excursion so be prepared. We had an estimated time of 8.30 but we were picked up at 5.30 am as they have to have time slots so everything runs smoothly.

Bad Customer Service

I booked what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see Auschwitz and ended up with no tour, no refund, and not even a credit for a future booking. I explained to both the local company as well as to Viator that I was given two different times to meet the bus, which left without me. The local company made excuses about the error and did not try to contact me via WhatsApp, which was the method for all other communication. While Viator is a separate parent company from this, I was told I had to contact them about a refund, which was denied. After explaining the entire situation, nobody bothered to follow-up with me and denied the claim yet again, 2 months later. For as large of a company as this is, that is unacceptable. This company buys up all of the tickets and forces you to go through them and then does nothing on the back end to ensure that these are actually good experiences. As many times as I've booked through this company, it's unbelievable how bad the customer service was. They don't deserve to be booking these types of experiences, as I have had a much better experience with other, local companies. Stay away at all costs and find another company to go through for these types of tours!

Be careful which tour company you go with

The sites are well worth a visit but be careful which tour operators you go with, we had a booking for a small group with a 0930 pick up from the hotel with HELLO CRACOW, it was changed to 13.40 a few days before, our driver was rushing as it was so late and as it took two hours to get there he was constantly braking and accelerating too fast and he was driving too close to the vehicle in front, a few of us had awful travel sickness from the journey, the tickets said it was a 4pm entry so not even close to what we had originally booked. We were rushed through both camps, it was even worse at the second one as it was dusk by the time we arrived, and 3/4 round it was dark so we had to get our phones out to complete the tour which was unsafe, our guide then left us to make our way back to the vehicle again in pitch black, it was far to late to start a tour at that time as it’s a 10 to 15 minute drive between the camps, we had long enough to go to the toilet and that’s it, no coffee shop or a chance to eat like it had said on the Viator App which is what we had planned so we didn’t take food, we didn’t walk out of there until at 7pm. It was ruined by the tour company rushing us.

Excellent tour with uncomfortable transportation

It's something everyone should see. The tour was very good and our tour guide Anna was excellent. There was a lot of fast paced walking. We booked a smaller, seemingly more premium tour. We didn't know that meant stuffing 8 people into a minivan for an hour and twenty minutes drive each way. We were 3 of us in the front driver seat. I was crushed in the middle with no leg room. Not premium and not acceptable.

An excellent, soul-wrenching tour

This tour is not for the faint of heart, or the faint of body. You learn a lot of soul-wrenching truths about the treatment of people in concentration camps. And there is a lot of walking involved, particularly when you get to Birkenau. Our driver,Grzegorz, did a fine job getting us where we needed to be. Our guide, provided by the museum, was amazing. Excellent English and an amazing font of information about the camps. Great trip.

We needed to look for the driver’s vehicle as he was sitting inside not standing outside waiting. We found him to be not very friendly or approachable. You need to be a fast walker to keep up with the tour guide at Auschwitz. She also talked very fast and went through some parts very quickly that you couldn’t absorb what you were looking at. The second part of the tour at Birkenau was a better experience and were able to absorb more of what had happened.

The guided tour was fine if you don't have any issues with a quick pace. There were some tourists who missed some parts of the tour because it took them time to get to each location and the guide was half way through before they reached the stopping point.

This is a must do experience. Staff on bus were organized and communicated well. Tour guide was exceptional. The biggest disappointment was we booked a 7:00-7:30AM tour months in advance. Tour company changed the pick up time to after 1:00PM two days prior to trip. This resulted in us having to change our plans for the entire day.

This is a fantastic experience. We had a great guide who was quite experienced about the topic. I had quite a bit of knowledge about Auschwitz, but always wanted to see for myself. Only negative was it was difficult hearing our guide. She kept a good pace. Our guide was very good and quite poised and knew her stuff even tho she appeared quite young.

My wife and I had this tour on Tuesday 21st September. I cannot describe in words how emotional I felt, seeing and hearing about what happened here. Of course I knew the history and have always felt angry and upset about the holocaust but it is only when I was there that I could realise the truest depths of the depravity and cruelty of the Nazis. God bless those who suffered at their hands and damn those perpetrators. Both sites are preserved carefully so we can remember the horrors and hopefully learn we must never this repeat history. Our driver Marcin was great and very efficient, thank you. The pick up place was easy to find. Our guide (apologies I didn’t get his name) was outstanding in his depth of knowledge and passion. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to ask him questions at the end of Birkenhau as had to keep up with the group going back to mini bus car park. My heartfelt thanks to him though and I just managed to shake his hand. Thank you, Richard & Maxine

Program is too long and too much walking. Museum is very well curated and informative, however, there is too much walking to enter too many repetitive block houses. There is no time given between the two camps for rest and lunch (even though you sell lunch boxes for 50POL). Please consider shortening the tours to accommodate a better experience

I was at one other former concentration camp. I felt it was sanitized. On the Auschwitz tour you get a real sense of what happened there. The tour was long but it had to be. It always kept your interest. The tour guides were professional. You can see films about the holocaust, but nothing beat a physical visit. Auschwitz/Birkenau is moving.

Anyone who gets an opportunity should do this Tour. Marek was excellent guide. Only downside was that our departure time was changed from the morning to afternoon which upset our schedule. Apparently this happens quite frequently.

A well handled day trip experience

1) the time you select may turn out to be much earlier due the the camp/museum’s scheduling of visitors. I chose 8:30 am but wound up being given a 5:40 am pick up time so be prepared to roll with it. it’s pretty much out of the tour company’s hands and is more dictated by the camp/museum 2) because of the super early wake up I was concerned about breakfast & lunch (the company offers a basic lunch box option) but the first camp/museum location actually has a cafeteria style restaurant for both continental breakfast and light lunch type meals and hot drinks if you’re not picky. There area also food vending machines. 3) bring ID. the entry tickets have individual names printed on them and a photo ID is required at the security check entrance 4) a good amount of the tour is outdoors and subject to weather conditions. It was both colder and more drizzly on 21/09/26 and actually poured toward the end of the tour so consider umbrellas/rainwear/cold weather wear and shoes you don’t need to worry about getting soiled 5) the tour of location locations itself is maybe 2-3 hours tops but the journey to and back is at least another hour and a half each way depending on traffic. I was dropped off back in the city center about 2pm 6) the tour provider is well organized providing multiple updates and check ins all the way. It was all very straightforward, well handled and uncomplicated (ps I’m usually a nitpicker) and I was only charged two days before the date 7) bring your own hydration, breaks are only at specified times before and after the tour 8) no WC on the bus but there’s a no-pay WC at first location and also at the second location

Somber experience

Our guide was extremely good and the whole experience was very somber and thought provoking. Everyone should visit these camps and remember the cruelty that took place there . By doing so I hope we can honour those who were murdered there and pay our deepest respects to them.

It’s a fast paced day but well worth it. Excellent guide although I couldn’t always hear what was being said through the headset. At times I would have preferred longer at Auschwitz looking at some of the exhibits although I understand the tours are needing to keep to time. I feel you need to be relatively fit as you’re walking 3 hours in total and with quite a lot of stairs. You can purchase snacks at both places and have the use of a toilet
