Our tour guide, Catia, provided lots of information about the area. She paid particular attention to us being comfortable and our needs being met. She learned all of our names and used them when addressing us. The van was very comfortable. Loved that Catia has a headset and the van had a speaker so that we could hear everything that she said. Lunch was plentiful and interesting - lots of traditional foods. The walk in the park was longer than comfortable for some guests, but the reward was stunning views. Very nice tour.

Great all day tour.

This was a great all day tour also. We had a great time and a great meal of food cooked in the Caldeiras. The tea plantation was okay just extremely busy and crowded! The other stops were better. Lunch was not included but we ate at Tony’s and it was well worth it. Definitely a great tour to do if you are on Sao Miguel.

Great tour

We had a wonderful experience on our excursion. Our guide was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, with a great personality. We learned so many interesting things throughout the tour and really enjoyed every moment. Mom/Daughter (X 2) getaway...fantastic!!

We just returned from a week on Sao Miquel, and this jeep tour of Sete Cidades was the HIGHLIGHT! You'll drive on roads and see overlooks that you would not get to otherwise...breath-taking! Andre Cardoso was our driver, and I would completely recommend him. SO knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us plenty of time to see everything, take pictures, made sure we were comfortable, and answered our many questions, both of the sites, but also our curiosity about what life is like for the locals. DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!

Tomás was such a sweet and great host throughout the tuktuk experience. My parents loved the experience he had planned and all the areas we explored throughout Ponta Delgada and some parts of Lagoa. Highly recommend to do this on arrival day, it’s a great way to get out and see the surroundings with a local who has pride in his origins and is eager to share it with us. Buggy Off-Road Excursion to Sete Cidades - HD

Great experience - super fun.

Such a great experience and tour. First, it was a full 4 hour tour. No corners cut. We traveled paved roads, dirt roads and paths allowing us to see many aspects of the west side of Sao Miguel. We briefly stopped for snacks and restroom in a lovely town. . Our guide, friendly and gregarious, made sure we were safe and comfortable; he also offered helpful commentary/insight at various stops throughout the trip. He always took us to "just the right spot" at each stop, allowing for great vistas and outlooks. He took great pics of our family, for which we are grateful. Our "buggy" was clean and in great working order. If (when?!) we return to Sao Miguel, we will definitely do this tour again with this company! Super fun. Recommend highly. Tips: bring face protection (we wore bandanas / buffs) and sunglasses (or more) for eyes. Sometimes, dust gets kicked up if traversing dry roads. Also, wear / bring layers - can get a bit colder in some spots as cross island microclimates.

Fun experience

The buggy ride was really fun and we ended up seeing several amazing view points even though we couldn’t see the blue and green lakes from the viewpoints as there was too much fog. We did get to ride around them on a trail and it was beautiful. The guide was really good and patient with the group. It was an amazing experience.

Book it!

A great way to see the island without having to rent a car (you would be fine driving around town, but getting to some of the highlight spots in Sete Cidades, for example, are easy to miss or require a half day hike). We had João and Eric for the two days and they were both very friendly and knowledgeable, taking us to many sightseeing/photo ops and local places over the two days. You do travel in a 8 or 10 passenger van though, which allows you to get to some of the harder to navigate spots, but I would recommend motion sickness meds (if you’re like me and haven’t sat in the back of a van in a while) and layers, as the weather changes rapidly. Can’t recommend this tour enough, though, and the lunch option is well worth it to get a real taste of the local cuisine.

This great tour covered...

This great tour covered the key places to see on Sao Miguel, taking us to 5 or so main tourist attractions. All along from and to Ponta Delgada, we enjoyed beautiful scenery on the chosen route. The driver who functioned as the tour leader was very cordial and helpful. He provided us with historical information, factual information, and contextual information relative to the other islands, the Portuguese mainland, and the Azores's role yesterday and today. We also got pieces of fun information as we went along and he answered our many questions. I felt this was an excellent overview of Ponta Delgada and Sao Miguel.
