Silvina included the Romans, the Moors and the Spanish. These conquests and the WW2 influenced food supplies available at the time influenced the the textures and tastes of today.

Excellent tour with excellent Guide

Flor was an excellent Guide — great communicator, knowledgeable, fun personality, flexible. Before the tour, she had sent multiple WhatsApp communications to confirm location, pick-up time & logistics. Given the weather (rain expected all day), she had made arrangements for a bus, since doing a walking tour would be challenging. The bus picked us up at the cruise port and drove us to all locations, not just to the castle (which was the only place on the original itinerary for bus use). Flor also made a change in which castle we visited, since the originally scheduled castle was under construction & could only be reached by walking a couple hours uphill. When we arrived at the San Fernanda castle, Flor checked with all of us to determine who wanted to climb to see the viewpoints; others could stay on the bus. She continued to make suggestions & solicit input from all of us on the remaining stops on the itinerary. Given that the rain was quite heavy, she suggested, & we all agreed, to go to the Central Market, so we could be inside. The market is amazing — Flor took us on an orientation tour of the market, and then, showing us the meeting place, gave us extra free time to explore, hoping that the rain would subside enough to continue our city walking tour. Given that it continued to rain, she again asked if anyone wanted to walk; we all said that we preferred to stay in the bus & she directed the driver to take us to as many sites as possible, given accessibility for the bus to enter those streets. At the Church, she asked if anyone wanted to walk a bit, since the rain was lighter & the streets were too narrow for the bus to navigate. 8 of us went for this walking tour, during which Flor shared lots of information about the city, the history, the neighbourhoods, etc. On the way back to the bus, we asked if we could return to the statue of the bullfighter and bulls, in order to get a better photo. After that stop, Flor surprised us with an extra stop at the bullfighting ring, where she arranged for us to have a tour. In short, it was fantastic — we saw famous matador clothing, pictures of bull fights, a video about the history, a walk around inside the actual bullring, where we got a group photo, and ended the day with an opportunity to hold a matador’s cape. All in all, Flor went above and beyond what other tour guides might have done, to make up for the fact that the weather did not cooperate for a walking tour — she kept us dry & comfortable, and fully engaged. We highly recommend this tour and specifically highly recommend Flor as your Guide. We would give a 10-star rating, if we weren’t limited to 5-stars!

We recently took a group tour to Guadalest and Altea, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Jose Maria Albert, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of each place to life with engaging stories and clear explanations. Jessica, our bus driver, did an excellent job navigating the long journey safely and smoothly. Even though it was a full and busy day, the trip was very well planned, perfectly coordinated, and truly enjoyable throughout. Their professionalism and teamwork made the entire experience both entertaining and worthwhile. Highly recommend this tour!

Great value for the money!

My husband and I were very pleased with our tour guide, Jessica. Her pleasant demeanor and ability to engage the group with questions and pertinent facts throughout the trip was invaluable. The experienced bus driver made us feel relaxed abd very safe. The scenery was gorgeous. For those with mobility issues or toddlers, please keep in mind that there are many steps to navigate.

Absolutely loved this tour from start to finish. The meeting point was really easy to find, which made everything feel smooth and stress free from the moment we arrived. Communication beforehand was excellent, with clear instructions and quick responses. The guide was friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere straight away. The caves themselves were incredible. Way more impressive than expected, with stunning formations and a really interesting history. Busot was also a lovely addition, giving a nice glimpse into a quieter, more local side of the area. I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Alicante. It’s an easy, well organised experience with beautiful scenery.

Great tour!

The tour was so informative, interesting and fun. Meeting point was easy to find. Fran was a great tour guide- he shared stories, gave facts, and made the group laugh. He answered questions and backed up the talk with photos. This is the second time I had attended this tour and would go again. The market is fascinating and I learnt a lot about the foods of Spain. There are some sections that some may find tricky to walk if they have mobility issues. Lots of steps and a sloping walk way. Thank you for making my husbands birthday one to remember.

Totally worth it, highly recommend

This class was excellent. Our guide was Federico and he was amazing. He effortlessly switched from English to Spanish while giving information the whole time. He was very informative at the market, teaching us about Iberian ham, got everyone involved in the class and taught us about what we were eating, which was all delicious. I volunteered for the "worst job" prepping the dried fish, bit of a joke i guess because it wasnt bad at all. Our class was a smaller one apparently, there was only 7 of us. I feel like 7 or 8 is a perfect number but apparently it can a lot more. Tour/class is totally worth it and Federico was amazing at his job and genuinely seem like a nice guy.

Fabulous Day

Silvina was a wonderful host for Alicante. We had a fabulous day. She is such a great guide, so many interesting things we enjoyed and learned about the city. We were treated to outstanding, new foods, I’d never experienced and it was delicious. Great wines and many incredible Tapas showing us the flavor and hospitality of Spain. Silvina deserves every praise as she treats you like family! A must do!
