Welcome to Boiler Studio. Here we work as a team! Holidays and leisure time are for relaxing, socializing, getting to know the city's culture, and meeting new people. In this tile painting workshop, you can experience a little bit of all of this, because this experience is designed so that you don't need any prior experience, just to feel good. Enjoy yourself and take a piece of Portugal home with you, the best souvenir made by you and which you will remember as your tile. Oh, and during your activity, you will also enjoy one (or more) cocktails with a variety of choices ranging from the famous Porto Tónico to a glass of champagne.

This workshop will be accompanied by good conversation, good music and fun. In the end, you will be able to shine with your friends and family. For families with children, a private workshop can be scheduled. Special conditions for groups of 10 or more people.

You’ll receive a white ceramic tile and can choose from an exclusive selection of traditional tile patterns carefully selected and documented by our team directly from the streets of Porto, which you can replicate, or create your own original design. Your instructor will guide you throughout the painting process, making it accessible for beginners and enjoyable for all ages. Throughout the workshop, enjoy Port wine, juice, water, coffee, and a selection of sweet and savory snacks, while relaxing, socializing, and painting. After the session, you take your hand-painted souvenir of your time in Portugal. Our two spaces are centrally located, one near "São Bento Train Station" and "Ribeira", and the other near "Jardim do Morro" and the Port Wine Cellars. The class focuses on preparing a 100% plant-based custard filling and the baking process. The puff pastry is pre-prepared, and you’ll receive an exclusive house-made recipe to recreate it at home, as puff pastry requires several hours to be ready for use. The session also includes a short and accessible introduction to the history of the Pastel de Nata in Portugal, from its origins in Lisbon to its evolution into one of the country’s most famous pastries, with insight into how this traditional recipe can be successfully adapted to a vegan version without losing its essence. Each participant will prepare several vegan Pastéis de Nata, which can be enjoyed on site or taken away. A transport box is included for your pastries. Throughout the workshop, enjoy Port wine, juice, water, coffee, and sweet and savory snacks, in a relaxed and social atmosphere. At the end of the session, you’ll leave with the confidence, and the recipe, to recreate this vegan Portuguese classic at home.

Our Azulejo Tile Painting Workshop is the only one in Porto offering two options of tile painting techniques: -You can experience the original artisan glazing method, just as Portuguese craftsmen have done for centuries. This method tiles need to be fired in a ceramic kiln at 1,100°C (2,012°F), it takes up to 5 days to pick up or can be shipped. -Or choose the ready-to-go acrylic painting option, where your unique tile is sealed and ready to be taken home right after the workshop. Both allow you to create a unique piece of art to cherish. The session takes place in our working artist studio and gallery, surrounded by contemporary art and creative energy. Led by a professional artist, you’ll paint step by step, no experience needed, while also receiving insider tips of Porto’s best art galleries, museums, tile-covered architecture, and local restaurants. A perfect mix of authentic craftsmanship, creativity, and local insight, this workshop is truly one of a kind.

Guests will be provided with a blank white tile and various patterns and designs to choose from. The patterns will be traced onto the tiles then filled in with acrylic paint, which dries much faster than ceramic paint and doesn't require being fired in a kiln. Guests can then take home their tiles the same day!

Take the opportunity while in northern Portugal to learn how to surf with these private surfing lessons at Fão’s beach. Whether it’s your first time surfing or still consider yourself a beginner, these lessons let you work with a coach to help you develop and progress your surfing skills. Lessons include discussion of your experience, a warm-up, advice on understanding the waves, and the teaching of techniques. There is a limit of just three participants.
