This cooking class was an incredible experience from start to finish. It was so hands on, informative, and full of helpful tips that made it both fun and educational.
We prepared several delicious dishes and enjoyed amazing wines paired with each course, which made the experience even more special. They also surprised my daughter with a sweet birthday celebration, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Everything about this class was warm, welcoming, and memorable. Highly recommend!

Recently, while in Porto, Portugal, we took this cooking class with Chef Tania, with her spouse Tomas assisting, and wow… what an experience from start to finish.
The day began with a tour of Mercado do Bolhão with Tomas, where we met another couple participating in the class. We shared wine, tried sardines for the first time, and learned more about the market and Portuguese food culture. It was the perfect way to start the experience.
After the market tour, we walked over to the apartment for the cooking class, and let me tell you — everything was flawless. We’ve had the privilege of taking cooking classes in private locations in Paris, Budapest, Italy, and India, and out of all of them, the attention to detail and overall execution of this class was by far the best.
Chef Tania was incredibly hands-on, welcoming, and engaging throughout the entire experience. She encouraged questions, made everyone feel completely at ease, and created such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Having recently moved to Lisbon a few months ago, I especially loved being able to ask a real Portuguese chef questions about cooking and ingredients, and she was so generous with her knowledge.
We learned so much, laughed a ton, ate incredibly well, and left genuinely excited to recreate the dishes at home.
I truly cannot recommend this class enough. It was one of the highlights of our time in Porto.

What a wonderful experience! As a novice, I learned a great deal, from our hosts and our meals were very good! Tomas and Tonia were delightful hosts and made the evening special, it felt like we were at a dinner party with old friends. We highly recommend this experience, especially if you want good food, good drink, and good companionship!

This was a highlight of our recent 11 day trip to Portugal and we did a lot! The class was just perfection, from the communication prior to arrival with Tomas meeting us outside and escorting us to the location to cooking taught by Chef Tania (a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef!). It was warm, personal and educational. The space, wines, food and cooking lesson was excellent and plan to put Chef Tania and Tomas on your trip itinerary, you will be so happy you did!!

This was a true hands-on cooking experience with wine pairings that my two daughters and I did on a birthday trip for me. The location was a bit tricky to find but a member of the team came and helped us get to the space where the event took place. A lovely building with lots of natural light. The food we prepared was delicious and the wine options were perfect as well. The instructor and her staff made everyone feel welcome and all of them were so friendly, patient and helpful. We had such a wonderful time!

This was a great cooking class! We wanted a more in depth experience than pastel Antas and we mad a pastry appetizer, main dish was cod, eggs & potato and a French toast dessert. Porto spritzer & wines.

My husband and I had an EXCELLENT time! Our head chef and teacher had studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, but was from Portugal. She was able to teach us some really important basics to Portuguese cooking (and cooking in general) while helping us create elevated flavors and yummy dishes.
It’s clear they’ve put a lot of time and effort into creating an experience for you to connect and enjoy the company of others taking the class, as well as learning about the local cuisine. Cannot recommend enough!

My friends and I had a wonderful experience in a cooking class in Porto, Portugal. Portugal at the table, led by Chef Tania was fun and informative. Chef Tania walked us through the preparation and cooking of 3 Portuguese dishes. Her husband Tomas shared his knowledge of wine as a served us wine and food pairings. Their daughter Barbara assisted them. This wonderful family made us feel at home with them and my friends and I rank this as one of our favorite experiences of our trip to Porto. The cooking class we took with Portugal at the Table was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like part of their family. Tomas, Tania, Barbara, and Mateo were gracious hosts. You could tell they loved cooking and sharing it with others. All of the food was portioned and prepped before we got there. Each cooking station had its own burner and all utensils that were needed. As soon as we finished, items were taken from the station and cleaned for us. Tania would guide us through cooking each item and Tomas would explain wine as well. The food was absolutely delicious as well as the wine. We are so thankful for this opportunity to spend time with this lovely family. It is one we will always remember!
