We had a pretty good...

We had a pretty good experience overall. There's a ton of similar experiences on Viator and I was skeptical about all the five star reviews. I picked this tour based on pick up at the hotel and the itinerary clearly listed. A day or two before the tour, the agency sent us a text to let us know the approximate window to be ready for the pickup. We were the second group out of 5-6 groups to be picked up from the hotel at 4:15am. After the last group was picked up, it took maybe 30-40 minutes to reach the tour agency. Our awesome guide Barbara met us for check in and walk us through the itinerary, and we had some simple coffee and snacks before setting off on a quick drive to the balloon boarding area. The photographer took some photos for us and let us know that there would be a drone taking videos when we were on the balloon. Once all the groups took their photos and we boarded and took off, just in time to see the beautiful sunrise. We cruised around for what feels like 30 minutes or so but it was more than enough to take in the sights. I've always wondered how the balloon gets navigated back to base. Turns out it doesn't. The pilot finds a patch to land and the crew meets us there to pack up the balloon and take the passengers to the next stop. After a quick champagne toast the van took us back to the agency to retrieve our belongings from the locker and purchase any photos that we wanted. Next stop was La Cueva for breakfast and a cultural performance. Breakfast was pretty tasty and they got us out in around 30 minutes. We spent another hour or less at the alcohol tasting and gift shop with a separate guide. The last stop was the pyramids. Our guide had helped purchased tickets for us in advance so we didn't waste any time there. We had around an hour and 15 minutes and they got us back to our hotels by around 1, 1:30 in the afternoon. I gave it 5 stars for the following reasons: The itinerary was clearly listed on the descriptions and we knew what to expect. Everything ran on time and promptly. This was advertised as no-tip and it's completely optional if you want to tip any of the guides or service crew and they provide the same level of great service regardless. The only thing they ask for is a good review if we are happy with the experience. The restaurant is separate from this so do carry some cash to tip the servers and the cultural performers. Even though we were taken to an alcohol tasting and gift shop they don't pressure you to buy anything you don't need. The guide there was very knowledgeable and nice so even though we didn't end up buying anything we still tipped the guide for providing a good experience. Shoutout again to our guide Barbara for providing a great experience!

My guide, Mar, was absolutely excellent - she was professional, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience seamless. Very enjoyable full day tour of sites around CDMX including highlights in Coyoacan, Xochimilco ride, and access to Frida Kahlo Blue House. The guides were awesome. Tour was provided in English and Spanish. As a full day tour, nothing felt rushed. Bring cash for Xochimilco ride entertainment and drinks. Highly recommend this tour!

Best experience ever! Tour guide was very friendly and sweet, and I felt safe during the entire experience. Wear layers to keep warm while in the air, but have something light on underneath for the pyramids. The breakfast was a great addition and a good way for solo travelers to get to know others in their tour group.

We only did the balloon...

We only did the balloon flight and I recommend everybody do this activity!! It was an amazing experience, and our pilot Fernando was very friendly and did an amazing job. The basket felt very safe and the pictures turned out amazing!! Very happy to have experienced this. It can be a bit cold in the morning so do bring a jacket but it wasn't that cold while we were up in the air!

Full tour - Do not miss out on this experience. Incredible.

Amazing experience, cannot recommend this enough. Every step of the way was professional. Our guide spoke perfect english and our driver, while he didn’t speak english, provided a very safe, comfortable, and accommodating ride. Our hot air balloon captain too was safe and very precise through the flight and landing. There was not a moment in the experience that my partner or I felt anything but excited and very comfortable. We did bot fly directly over the pyramids but were expecting that could be the case. It is a ballon so it’s flight path is in part subject to the wind. There are also many other flights that take place at the same time, so the airspace can get crowded. Any negative reviews for not going over the pyramids lack sense imo. We still had a wonderful flight and great views of the pyramids btw!!

Amazing experience, highly recommend

This was by far the best experience I had in Mexico City. The tour was well-timed and well organized. The balloon ride was a great. I got some amazing photos, despite the fog. The breakfast in the cave was memorable. The staff put on a great show, which I wasn’t expecting. The tequila/mezcal tasting was fun, although I’m not a fan of liquor. There was one taste I enjoyed: it was mezcal mixed with a pine nut cream, which was delicious. I loved the pyramids. A guided tour was offered for an extra cost. Overall, I had so much fun; it was like having 5 different experiences in one package. Definitely book this trip. It’s worthwhile. You’ll have wonderful memories and pictures. Tip: don’t bring a purse or backpack unless you absolutely have to. You can’t bring anything on the balloon. They weigh you before you can get on.

This was a great experience. Picked us up right at our hotel. Everything felt very safe. Ruby was our point guide and she was GREAT! Not only was the hot air balloon an awesome experience but we learned a lot of new things and was transported everywhere we needed to go. Also, for all of my animal lovers… this company looks out for a few of the stray dogs in the neighborhood <3 That went a long way for me. 10/10 would recommend and will recommend to anyone I know who will be traveling to Mexico City!

Up, up, & UP!

This was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Pickup was seamless, and our driver Miguel was professional, safe, and made the early morning easy. Coffee and tea were offered before the ride—while mine could have been hotter, the gesture was appreciated. The hot air balloon ride itself was absolutely breathtaking. Floating over the pyramids alongside dozens of other balloons was surreal. Huge credit to the entire crew—our captain and especially the ground team, who were incredible (definitely tip them!). Breakfast in the cave was the only low point. The setting was nice, but the food was limited and underwhelming. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. By the time we reached the pyramids, we were exhausted from the early start, but our guide Susana M. completely turned things around. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate—making the tour fly by and leaving us wanting more. A special shoutout to Paul, the photographer/videographer, whose energy made capturing the day fun. I didn’t plan to buy photos, but they turned out fantastic and were worth it. Overall, every part of the experience was handled with care and professionalism. Don’t let the price stop you—this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Do not miss this

Absolutely incredible. Be sure to dress warm but with layers. You can leave your jackets in the van as it gets warmer in the day. I wish I had known that before. My favorite part of the tour was with our guide. He was funny and gave the history in such a clear way that was educational (which I loved) but entertaining for people who may not love history as much. Be SURE to wear a hat. Breakfast was bland, but the cave was really nice. The gift shop has some fun things, but you can get it all much cheaper inside the actual park. 10/10 recommendation. I plan to bring my son back and do this same tour.
