Amazing experience with Volare. Everything was smooth and well organised from start to finish. Our pilot, Juan Manuel Diaz, was incredibly skilled and had such a great, positive attitude that made the whole flight even better. He got us impressively close to the pyramids, which made the views feel surreal. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

It was good i liked it, but the cost of refreshments at the shop near the spot for us to return after the pyramids tour is expensive

Great from beginning to end!
Beautiful views of the pyramid and everything went very smoothly.
Softest landing!

Pilot was so knowledgeable, we felt safe the whole time. Views are breathtaking. This is definitely an experience you don’t want to miss
Sophie_B, May 2026
Great tour and very good value however they were quite late for pick-up and didn't communicate. Besides the late pick-up I would give the tour 5 stars.

My boyfriend and I signed up for this excursion on the recommendation of a friend, and it lived up to the hype! This was my first time in a hot air balloon, and I was really nervous, but the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish! We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and brought to the main office to check-in. They gave us tea/coffee, fruit, and cookies while we watched the balloons get blown up. The ride itself was incredible. Our pilot, Fernando, was fun and friendly. The views were breathtaking. It was a beautiful, clear sky day and we had amazing views of Teotihuacan. After the ride, we were brought back to the office center for breakfast and live music, before departing for Teotihuacan to explore. After our Teotihuacan visit (we hired a local guide upon arrival for a tour), the shuttle drove us back to our hotel. There was a lot of traffic, and it took 2 hours until we were dropped off, so be prepared for a long, hot van ride back (which we had anticipated from the tour description). All in all, a very worthwhile experience that I would highly recommend!

Well organised, very punctional, info in the ads is the truth, kind people, clear communication. Know others didn't like breakfast but I liked it (fine for gluten free).
Photos are very expensive, but pretty cool. Didn't buy though.
Would recommend!

Beautiful way to see the pyramids! Felt very safe and well organized. Seamless pickup and drop off in the city. Overall great experience!

The staff at the location, the balloon captain (IDK if that’s what they’re called), the Mariachi band during breakfast, etc. were all great. I have disability issues. The staff were very considerate & accommodating throughout. They went above & beyond to help me out (e.g., they constantly made sure I had a place to sit if in pain & had communicated this need to different staff at different points of the trip, so everyone was very attentive in this regard. For this reason, they get 5 stars.
The breakfast, both the food & the set up, was mediocre, but it was fine enough to not affect the score.
What almost had me giving less stars was that the driver from CDMX to start of balloon ride was quite impatient (not the driver from end of balloon ride back to breakfast; he was great). I was a few mins behind schedule in the morning, & the first driver almost left me. My spouse insisted he wait a moment for me to come down. He literally waited less than 2 mins at the next stop where the people weren’t ready either. About 10 mins later, they called him on the radio & had him turn around to go pick them up, which wasted more time than if he gave a grace period to begin with. I’m Latino myself & have travelled to several Latin American countries, & have never experienced such impatience. That is not a normal part of Mexican culture, especially considering we weren’t late overall. In fact, the instructions note the pick up could happen between 4:35-4:50 am, but we should be ready by 4:35. I was in the car around 4:40, so not crazy behind schedule. If I were in Japan or Switzerland or some other country where time is treated differently than in most of Latin America, I’d understand the rush, but not here. That being said, the drivers from the end of the balloon ride back to the port for breakfast and then back to the temples and again back to the city were all great. They drove well and were very considerate of the passengers, including those of us that needed some accommodations.
The ride itself was really cool. It was awesome to be able to see the balloons being filled up & to see so many up in the air. The ride itself was really cool, sometimes super high & other times surprisingly low & close to the pyramids. It was nice that they rotate the balloon, so you get all views from whatever section you’re in.
This was a really cool experience that I strongly recommend.

The actual balloon ride is stunning, and Teotihuacan doesn’t disappoint on foot! I would definitely recommend this experience, but I’d make a few changes in the itinerary.
We were picked up around 5:00am and returned to our hotel around 2:30pm so it’s a full day out and you’ll be tired when you’re done.
There is a lot of upselling coming from every angle the entire day. You will be posed for photos throughout the whole balloon ride, and then they will offer you a comprehensive photo package at the end. A lot of the pictures they took were fantastic, and the additional drone footage is really cool, but the price doesn’t justify the sale when you have a cell phone with a decent camera.
Breakfast was decent, and it was nice having a mariachi band during, but it felt a little rushed due to the photo packages they were trying to sell you.
Once at Teotihuacan, there will be countless vendors selling their wares, and they are unafraid to engage with you and put things in your hands. You’ll be saying “No, Gracias” more than you’d like.
We had a pretty hot day and there was minimal shade anywhere at the site, so make sure to wear sunscreen!
Overall, this experience could benefit from small changes in the overall timing of activities.

Thank you for you feedback. It's good that you skipped the photo package and managed to get great photos on your phone.
As advertised, it is about 9 to 10 hours experience. It is a long experience for sure. Glad to hear you had a great flight.
Katie_H, May 2026
This was amazing. It’s an early start but so worth it for the sunrise. The pick-up was really smooth and easy from a hotel nearby - it does get cold though. Then check in was quick and simple with coffee and fruit. Our pilot fernando was so fun and his playlist was on point. The actual ride is breathtaking. We went right above the ruins with loads of chances to take pics plus the basket didn’t feel too cramped. Crew was ready to pick us up at the landing point and take us for breakfast - it’s quite basic but does the job.

Thank you for your review! We're really happy to hear you had such a wonderful flight experience, Fernando will love to read this. Hope we get to welcome you back again!

Such an amazing experience. Really enjoyed seeing the sun come up over the pyramids and all the vibrant balloons. Such an amazing experience of a lifetime. Super thankful. Thank you!!!

Did the hot air balloon experience over Teotihuacan during my solo birthday trip to CDMX and it was honestly one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had.
Seeing the sunrise over the pyramids from the air was unreal and the entire experience felt very organized, safe, and smooth from start to finish.
I added the photo/drone package and while I honestly preferred a lot of my own iPhone photos, the photographer herself was SO kind and made my solo birthday feel really special, so I’m still glad I did it.
Big tip: dress in layers. It’s pretty cold before takeoff, but once you’re up in the air and the sun comes out, it gets hot very fast.
Absolutely worth the early wake-up call and one of the highlights of my CDMX trip.

Reanna_T, May 2026
Great experience, felt the breakfast was rushed though. Getting back into the city was annoying. Told to be back at 12 in front of a cafe, when you arrived they encouraged you into the cafe and delayed leaving on purpose while they encouraged you to have something to eat or drink. Left at 1230.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for your feedback, it is hard to get everyone back at the van on time and it pushes back our departure. We actually encourage our guests to check and ask for prices and avoid the pushy sellers next to the archeological site. We have no business with anyone on that area.
steven_c, May 2026
It was truly amazing and would love to do it again although I didn’t wanna wake up early it was well worth it lol.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much! you're right it is worth the early start.
Sophie_D, May 2026
Got food poisoning of their breakfast. Another couple who did the tour as well, had it as well. AVOID THE BREAKFAST!
Response from Host, May 2026
We appreciate your feedback, we've sent your note to the team to make the proper investigation.
Christopher_M, May 2026
Great experience. We went for the basic option without pickup and their facility is very clean.
They provide coffee and light snacks on arrival and the check in process was smooth. Flight was amazing and our pilot was very professional. We flew over the pyramid at sunrise and views were spectacular
Breakfast at the end was ok but can be improved on in terms of variety. So don’t expect much.
Would recommend booking this in cdmx. A bucket list activity for sure
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you! Glad to hear we checked that bucket list and that you had fun. We appreciate your feedback, come back soon!
Tushar_B, May 2026
Amazing experience! You get to see the pyramids as the rises on a hot air balloon. Champagne and breakfast was included and it was great.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much, we're glad you had an amazing experience, come back soon!

From pickup to the hot air balloon and pyramids, the excursion was amazing! The checkin was smooth and the hot air balloon ride was amazing. I was afraid the clouds would cover the pyramids, but it cleared out and seeing everything was great. We did our own tour and explored the pyramids until the time they said to meet to return to the hotel. Would highly recommend!
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for your recommendation, glad to hear everything was smooth and that you had such fun, come back anytime soon!

The trip was very fun, I would definitely recommend it. A few things I wish I'd known:
1. Despite what the promotional photos show, you don't necessarily fly over the pyramids. It was still a great view of the valley, and all the other balloons flying at the same time looked really cool, but I was slightly disappointed we didn't get to fly closer to the ruins. On the plus side, everyone had a good view, no one got stuck behind someone else.
2. Breakfast was fairly disappointing - think average hotel breakfast
3. Three hours was a good amount of time at the pyramids. Less than that wouldn't have been enough. We didn't have time to go to the Queztalcoatl temple, but felt like we could see everything else in three hours
4. Traffic on the way back was rough, so there was less time for the activity I had planned in the afternoon than I had thought.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re glad to hear you had a great flight. Unfortunately we’re air bound and not a motorized aircraft. Balloons respond to the wind and as much as we will love to give everyone every time the opportunity to see the pyramids up close, not everyone has that same experience., we don’t warranty the pyramids. If you check our reviews most of the time we get there, so I guess this time the wind wasn’t cooperative. Next time you fly with us let us know this so we can make arrangements. Wishing you safe travels!
April_M, Apr 2026
Absolutely amazing experience. A lot
Of fun, and smoothly ran. Only issue was on the drop off, they placed us in a shuttle that was not going back to the area it had picked us up from. Had to Uber back a different location, which was a bit frustrating.
Response from Host, May 2026
Apologies for the mix up we will let the team know so this error won't happen again, good to know that you had a great experience after all. thank you!
Rebecca_H, Apr 2026
So magical! Highly recommended. As long as you are willing to wake up super early, this is a memorable experience worth every penny.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you! You’re absolutely right, it is worth every penny. Come back soon!

Worth waking up early. Its not scary just enjoy view its beautiful.
It was fun experience, the toast at the end and breakfast, depending which ticket you purchased. I recommend bring cash, lots of souvenir vendors, at the pyramids.

Great team. Super fun. Amazing experience!
Drone and photos around $100 which is crazy.
But they take you over the pyramids and show you the best angles.
Emily_S, Apr 2026
The experience was great! Beautiful view, very organized. I would recommend just scheduling an uber so that you don’t have to leave as early in the morning.
Donna_R, Apr 2026
This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life ! A bucket list item!! Floating over the Pyramids watching the other balloons with the sun coming up was breathtaking!
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Wow! that was amazing! thank you so much for your review, we're glad we got that list checked, come back soon!
Dominic_S, Apr 2026
Lovely balloon experience over the pyramids. We were very lucky with weather, but didn’t actually take off until after sunrise (while other companies did have their balloons in the sky for sunrise). Something to bear in mind/ ask about if you want that experience!
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your review, we based our liftoff based on weather. Hope to welcome you again.
AnnKatrin_B, Apr 2026
Everything was perfectly organized. Really nice experience as you fly over the pyramids. I would definitely recommend.
