What are people saying about San Miguel de Allende

It was a nice...
It was a nice introduction to the history of San Miguel de Allende, and also good for recommendations for restaurants. It was a little difficult to follow the stories of the families that founded the town, but we saw some hidden spots that we would not have seen on our own. Overall a very good tour

Horseback riding, lunch, warm springs soak. This experience has it all!
This combo horseback riding - warm springs trip was terrific! We rode with escorts, including two Mexican cowboys, through the countryside outside of San Miguel de Allende, for 2 1/2 hours. The scenery was beautiful and the horses were easy to ride. My husband is an experienced rider and was able to ride faster and take small detours. I’m not experienced and very much enjoyed the easy pace. After the ride we had a home-cooked Mexican meal which was among the best food I ate while in San Miguel de Allende. Homemade tortillas, fresh veggies, agua fresca, chicken Milanese. It was so good! We then rode down to a warm springs location for a nice long soak. It was a great experience from beginning to end! Do it!

Excellent value, people and wine.
This proved to be an excellent adventure. Leo, our driver was both charming and informative.
The winery itself was an idyllic location in both landscapes and buildings.
This was paired perfectly (wine terminology) with the knowledgeable tour hosted by S Stephanie. She brought the story to life and added so much to our enjoyment.
Now throw in several very enjoyable tasting options and you have an experience that exceeded our expectations.

Jesus was Exceptional!
The drive from San Miquel de Allende to Guanajuato was delightful as Jesus filled us in on the tour itinerary and gave us a historical and cultural framework that perfectly set up our time on the ground in Guanajuato. Once there he led us through the very dense urban core of the city and we were able to enjoy the many architectural gems and the wonderful plazas and public space. Highly recommend this tour in general and Jesus in particular!

Great food drinks and company.
Omar was great and his commentary often bent the history discussion towards the history of food in Mexico which was a really interesting angle. Great mix of foods and drinks including beer tequila and mescal. Felt like we went to more places than advertised. Your fun may depend on your group (ours was great) but who signs up for tacos and tequila if they aren't down for fun? Definitely recommended.

Locations, food, and guide were amazing
Pasquale, the tour guide, was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible.
The food was excellent, especially the dessert flan. The 5 stops were more than enough for a hearty appetite. Consider it dinner, it was more than enough.
We were fine, but some folks with mobility issues need to know there are lots of stairs. Pasquale patiently waited and double-checked to ensure every person was ok.
This was my first food tour. Do it, the venues and food were great.

Exceptional Chef, Exceptional Class
This was the most exceptional cooking. class I have ever attended. (And I have attended many.) Chef David was such a great teacher. I can't believe how much he improved my knife game after a single session! He was warm and friendly, knowledgeable and kind, the food we made together was delicious and I can't wait to repeat the recipes now that I'm back home!

Great unique experience especially if you get Diego
Our guide was fabulous. We ended up with a private tour (lucky) and spent the day in a Kia Sedona which was very comfortable. Diego did an amazing job spoiling us, telling us about Mexico as well as explaining the locations we stopped. We loved the day because the experience was so unique. I was surprised though by how commercialized the area was. Based on photos, it appeared to be more restricted on number of guests. It actually is like the local water park but was still worth the time and money. Also of note, the water is not hot like a normal sulfur hot springs, nor does it smell. Its really like bath water. Lunch was good. Breakfast was okay. Buffet is at a local hotel and was pretty cold but lots of variety.

Best tour in Mexico!
We had an absolutely wonderful walking tour in San Miguel de Allende. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely flexible, which made all the difference for our group with both kids and adults. He told engaging stories that brought the city to life, adjusted the pace seamlessly, and made thoughtful stops along the way so everyone stayed interested and happy.
The kids were entertained and included (no small feat!), while the adults felt like we were learning something meaningful rather than just ticking off landmarks. It never felt rushed or rigid — instead, it felt personal, warm, and tailored to the group.
This was exactly the kind of tour you hope for when traveling as a family: insightful, relaxed, and fun for everyone. We’d recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting San Miguel de Allende, especially those traveling with children or anyone who values flexibility and great storytelling.

A must do!!
The most fantastic horseback ride!! Loved every moment! A family run business, wherein a nephew picked us up from our hotel and took us out to the family ranch. There we experienced ranch living and cheese making which later we ate at dinner. The family was very accommodating to my wife’s hip limitation and fear of heights and provided her own guide to make sure she felt safe. Due to rain the previous day, the guides went ahead to ensure the safety of the trails... once we got off and walked for our safety. They also took our phones and made photos/videos so we could relive the experience later. Afterward, we enjoyed an authentic mexican meal made by the family. We would highly recommend this excursion if you are in the area. It is a must do!!

Querétaro - San Miguel de Allende
Incredibly easy - Luis was my driver and was waiting for me as soon as I left baggage claim. Helped me load my bags and off we went! Luis was AMAZING - told me about local markets and some of the history of the area and he had bottles of water waiting for me in the van. He’s an incredible employee!

Amazing winery
Driver (Angel?) showed up on time and professional. Winery was beautiful. After a comprehensive tour, we sat for our wine tastings. Marco at the winery had been out of university for a year and had studied in the industry. He provided detailed information about the area, property, winemaking and answered our questions. We had generous pours and repeats when finished. We each had our own charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, grapes, olives, breadstick, and raw honey. We chose not to do the extra walking around on our own or to sit for lunch, so he called the driver who came to pick us up within 15 minutes. We purchased a few bottles of wine from the store and also ordered a cocktail to enjoy on the patio. We started the experience at exactly 12:30 PM and got back to our hotel by 3:30 PM. We were picked up at the location, which was a 6 minute walk from our hotel. And on the way back, we asked the driver if he could drop us to directly to the hotel and he was happy to do so.

In the Mexican state of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende has long been a haven for artists, expats, and retirees drawn to the colorful and quaint Pueblo Magico (Magic Town). Fly over the beautiful center in a hot-air balloon or learn to make salsas, moles, and other regional specialties during a cooking class. And if you get tired of the easy life, other San Miguel de Allende tours amp up the energy by taking you hiking in the Sierra Gorda Queretana mountains.
