Great Tour of Dynjandi and West Fjords!
I booked this tour with my girlfriend during our stay in Ísafjörður, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. Gummi was an outstanding guide. He was born and raised in Ísafjörður, so his knowledge of the area, its history, and local culture added to the experience. His expertise driving the Super Jeep on the rugged roads made us feel safe while still being on an exciting adventure. Dynjandi was great. It was a busy day with lots of tourists, but Gummi timed our visit so we got there ahead of most of the crowds on the hike up, which made a big difference. We also stopped at Hrafnseyri, where we were lucky enough to watch whales while enjoying a coffee. That was such an unexpected bonus! The real highlight, though, was the drive to the top of Sandafell. The views were breathtaking and it felt like we were standing at the edge of the world. The Super Jeep gives you access to parts of the Westfjords that most visitors never get to experience because the large coach buses aren’t equipped for those roads. Another thing we appreciated was the small group. With a maximum of 12 people, the tour feels personal, unlike the crowded buses carrying 40 to 50 passengers. Gummi shared local stories throughout the day, had a great sense of humor, and made everyone feel welcome If you’re visiting Ísafjörður, we can’t recommend this tour enough. It’s worth every penny and offers an experience you can’t get on a standard bus tour.

Waterfall
Beautiful waterfall! The climb to get close to the waterfall was treacherous. Steep trail with uneven stones to walk on. No handrails. I would not recommend the climb unless you’re fit with no balance issues. Our guide, Annalise, was terrific! She was very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful overview of Iceland.

Fun experience!
The tour guide was his first day guiding in 15ish years. He was a hoot! He knew the area so well and his stories along the way were great. The scenery was beautiful and the entire experience was well worth it. The tunnel we went through was scary to me, but was very safe. Definitely recommend.

Great day
Fun way to see Iceland. We traveled through a 7 km tunnel—amazing engineering. The waterfall was lovely ( though crowded). I loved seeing how the fishermen dressed and lived 100+ years ago. And the drive to the overlook at the top of the mountain was amazing. The walkway extended over the chasm with great views.
