What are people saying about Port Arthur

We booked this journey...
We booked this journey during winter. Our driver (Shaun) is a pretty friendly guy. Having a good safety concern about driving as well as helping everyone during the whole trip. Not only sharing us the historical background but also willing to answer our questions.
Port Arthur is a beautiful historical attraction. Good spot for learning about history and walking around for relaxing.

This is my first tour in...
This is my first tour in Hobart and I can say, it is incredible. Of course, as a solo traveller, safety is a must and so far they always make sure all of us are taken care of. The guide give us a lot of time to enjoy every stop , especially the port arthur tour. Very friendly staff as well and theres nothing more I could ask for. I highly recommend this tour.

Stunning views!
The rugged shoreline of Port Arthur is absolutely stunning! The entire staff was friendly and professional, from the receptionist at check-in to the driver to the boat captain - all superb. The travel van was clean and comfortable and our boat driver passed by the cliffs from both directions and circled around so that everyone in the boat could get a fantastic views. My only recommendation would be to have a Guide at the Port Arthur Penitentiary to give us a live guided tour.

Tour too long.
The day was very, very long. Started at 7:45am, finished at 6:45pm. This tour catered mainly for people who wanted to hike in Tasman National Park, as Port Arthur is a drop off and pick up point. We spent 5 hours walking around the site and going on a brief harbour cruise, we then had to sit and wait 1 and a half hours till 4:30 for the bus. For people like myself, who only want to visit Port Arthur this tour probably isn’t for you.

Delightful Port Arthur
This tour was a delightful and informative experience, largely thanks to our excellent driver and guide, Mark. Mark's extensive knowledge kept everyone on the bus thoroughly engaged throughout the day. The small group of nine people also contributed to a very relaxed atmosphere. The Port Arthur area and its surroundings were serene and beautiful. I wish to extend a sincere thank you to Mark for making this such a memorable trip.

Day well spent
It was all well worth it. Ben was amazing in showing us around and giving us information about history. Loved Pirate bay, Port Arthur, rich history there and vast grounds. Enjoyed lavender ice cream from Richmond to end the day.

Exceptional day.
Extremely well organised. Was kept well informed leading up, and on the day. Bus driver so nice and knowledgeable.
Pt Arthur, all brilliant, I am a little restricted with my hip, well we were treated like royalty, apparently not busy, thus they could do this. For 6 1/2 hrs we were dropped off, picked up, educated by Mick, the driver. He knew absolutely everything, was an amazing, learning experience, thanks to Mick.
Thanks to the tour organisers.
Recommend. You betcha!!

This tour was...
This tour was exceptional, getting to see some really important history of Australia mixed with spectacular views such as the tessellated tiles which we were taking to because the tasman arch was closed. Our guide Matt was absolutely incredible his knowledge of the area was amazing and he was able to explain a lot of detail about the history of the area. Would highly recommend to anyone to do this tour
