The experience was...
The experience was wonderful! Ed was a great guide- very knowledgeable and friendly. He picked us up in front of our hotel and delivered us back there at the end of the day. With Ed in charge, it was so easy to sit back and relax and enjoy the time with family and beautiful scenery! Highly recommend this tour!

Unforgettable experience- worth every penny
We booked a this private van tour and it completely blew us away. Traveling in a smaller, premium minivan was the best decision we made. Unlike the massive tour buses that herded people around, our van is spacious and comfortable. Our guide was an absolute gem, sharing incredible history and personal insights about the places we passed by or visited. He were incredibly attentive and flexible, adapting the schedule changes we had due to the cruise ship leaving early than planned. If you want an intimate, stress-free, and deeply personal way to see Scotland, skip the big buses and book this van tour!

Great custom tour from Edinburgh
Ed is a very knowledgable and courteous guide. We enjoyed spending the day with him and seeing all the sights. Ed was great about customizing our tour so it fit our interests and activity level. We would look to book with him again if we go back to Edinburgh. We highly recommend a private tour with Ed Tours if you are in the Edinburgh area!

Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, Linlithgow
Had an awesome day touring Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, and Linlithgow with Ed! He showed up early, knew tons about Scottish history, and made the trip super fun and relaxed. Ed’s stories brought each place to life, and he was just great company all around. Would definitely recommend booking a tour with him if you want a memorable, hassle-free experience!

Super guide and super sights…
Our tour guide Ed Silinis was fabulous! He knew the castles inside and out, was engaging and even surprised us when my girls had a special request. I was so happy to see Scotland with his guidance. He also become fed things we needed prior to the trip such as the museum passes and gave helpful travel tips. Seemless and no stress.

Oriented in history
Ed knows his Scottish history. He tailored the tour to our desires by asking lots of questions about what we had seen on previous tours and what we wanted to see. His walking tour through Stirling Castle helped us integrate the castle’s history into the larger historical timeline. He was invaluable at Linlithgow castle. His descriptions brought the ruins to life. I would not have appreciated the former grandeur of this structure without his help.

Wonderful tour
Our tour guide Ed was awesome. His Mercedes vehicle was very comfortable. Before the trip, Ed customised the tour to fit our requirements of limited walking for which I was grateful. It was the perfect mix of a lovely travel via Ed's car, across the gorgeous Scottish lands and listening to history from Ed (His knowledge of the history of Scotland is amazing). Very much recommended.

When to visit

The photogenic ruins of Linlithgow Palace are a must-see for royal enthusiasts and history buffs.
Bring a camera to capture the views of Linlithgow Peel and Linlithgow Loch, both of which are visible from the top of Queen Margaret’s Bower.
Much of Linlithgow is roofless. Bring rain gear to keep the weather at bay.
The ticket office, shop, and courtyard (where the King’s Fountain is located), with level though somewhat uneven cobbled surfaces, are accessible to wheelchair users.
