This would have been a decent excursion if there had been opportunities to take photos and the driver had not been so rude. He told everyone to “stop talking” while he was tour guiding and even told some people he would let them off the bus if they needed to “fix” their phones. Excursion was tense and uncomfortable after that. Once we got off, we did not want to get back on, and just walked back to the cruise ship. No opportunity for photos unless you got off the bus or was at a stop light as driver barely slowed down at points of interest…really a waste of money.

The Hop On and Off ride was located in a nice location and easy to find. The ride was good and covered a lot of Victoria. The narration was a little confusing between the tape version and transition with the guide. But a nice way to see Victoria.

I frequently take hop on/hop off tours and enjoy them. This tour in Victoria was completely disorganized and the staff were rude and unhelpful. We arrived at the meeting point before anyone else and were 20 minutes early. By the time the bus arrived there was no semblance of a line. We spoke to one of the staff and said we were there early on purpose to get on the first bus and a seats together. They said everyone is getting on the bus. Bus came, we got on and then were advised we had to get off because the bus was full. Apparently there was another bus ready to go however it took 15 minutes to come. The bus driver was informative but we were all ordered off the bus at the Empress Hotel even though we had not seen all the stops. We were told we could walk around that area and wait for a bus in 30 or 60 minutes. We spent more time waiting for the bus than on the bus and it was a horrible experience. For the cost for the 5 of us we should have taken Ubers all day.

We provide guests with a map and schedule before boarding to help plan their day and explore the many stops along the route. With a Hop-On Hop-Off service, it can be challenging to predict exactly when guests will hop off and how long they’ll spend at each stop, but we do our very best to stay on schedule and maintain our advertised pickup times.

The description of this excursion was totally misleading. The bus only stopped at 4 places, not 15. And all of us who signed up for it (12) were under the impression that you can hop on/hop off whenever u wanted, not every 30 minutes. And no one thought it was important to mention that most of the restaurants and shops closed at 8 or earlier. Or that we had to fork out an additional $30 to get a ride from our ship to the meeting place. Seriously??? For the amount you overcharged for this, the least you can do is pick us up from the ship! Or, let us get on the bus at Ogden. Plus, we couldn’t understand a word the driver said b/c the sound system was AWFUL!
We used Viator for our other excursions and they were fantastic. This one was beyond disappointing and ruined our visit to Victoria.

Ogden Point Cruise ship terminal is one of our designated stops, and guests are welcome to board the bus directly from there.
Our regular Hop-On Hop-Off tour includes 15 stops, with the final departure at 5:30 PM and a return to the starting point at approximately 7:00 PM. According to our records, you checked in at approximately 6:50 PM, after the final departure of our regular Hop-On Hop-Off service.
After 5:30 PM, we operate a separate Evening Tour with a shorter route featuring 4 stops. We sincerely apologize that this distinction was not clearly explained to you at check-in. Our staff should have made sure you understood that you were joining the Evening Tour rather than the regular 15 stop Hop-On Hop-Off service.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We will be reviewing this with our team.

While you can get on at any stop, you still have to go to the Empress hotel to redeem your reservation.

I bought the 24 hours tour and right now is our second and last day, in Vicoria. Ogden Garden is soo beautiful and free! All the staff are very nice and helpful when asked.

I had seen poor reviews but opted to purchase the tour anyway because I have taken the hop on hop off many times in other cities and was satisfied. I should have listened! Our first driver, a former police officer, was rude and curt at times. Then buses did not show on routes, resulting in us not seeing a great deal. We were told it was because of a break down. In the end, just not worth it. Use an uber and see the places you want.

We do want to clarify that the service interruption was due to a mechanical issue, not a lack of buses intentionally being removed from the route. While breakdowns are uncommon and unavoidable at times, we understand that this significantly affected your ability to see Victoria during your visit.
As for your comments about the driver, we expect all members of our team to be courteous and professional with our guests, and we take this feedback seriously.
The Hop-On Hop-Off tour is a sightseeing service, not a private point-to-point transportation service. The route is designed to allow guests to explore Victoria’s key sights at their own pace. We regret that the mechanical issue prevented you from experiencing the tour as intended.

We booked this hop-on hop-off bus tour after researching and confirming that it was easy to board from the cruise terminal. Unfortunately, there were no signs or clear directions showing where to catch the bus. After walking around in circles for nearly an hour, we finally spotted the bus arriving at 2p.m. and had to run to catch it.
Once we boarded, we were told that many streets would be closing at 3p.m. for an air show, meaning the tour would end early and we wouldn’t be able to complete the full route. We received no advance notice about these closures, so we had no opportunity to change our plans or choose another activity. Despite only receiving about half of the tour, there was no offer of a partial refund or any other compensation.
To make matters worse, the driver repeatedly told passengers to stop talking because he needed to focus, which made the experience less enjoyable. Overall, we paid for a full hop-on hop-off tour but only received a portion of it. Based on our experience, I don’t feel the tour was worth the price.

The air show and resulting road closures were a significant citywide event that required changes to traffic and tour operations. We regret that you were not made aware of the early route closure before boarding. We understand that advance notice would have allowed you to make a different decision with your limited time in Victoria.
We also acknowledge your difficulty locating the boarding point at the cruise terminal. Clear and accessible boarding information is important, especially for cruise passengers working within a limited timeframe, and we will review how this information is communicated.
Regarding the driver’s comments, our drivers must prioritize safe vehicle operation, but we also expect them to communicate with guests in a professional and courteous manner.

The bus was clean, they provided us with lots of information about Victoria BC. I highly recommend riding it the whole 90 minutes first to decide where you want to get off. The biggest issue we had was having to wait 30 minutes for the next bus to come and pick you up. There is a lot of wasted time. Somethings don't take 5 minutes to go visit and then you just stand around and wait for the next bus to come around.

The beginning of the tour went well. I got on and off a few of the stops.
However, when I got off at stop 14 cook street village and spent some time there. I waited to get back on for over 40 mins from 5.40 pm until 6.20 pm expecting to get back on at 5.55. No bus came!
I ended walking back over an hour- so I was disappointed with this.

It was a nice tour, not like other tours who have buses running constantly. There are two buses and you must wait a while between them. The stops are not clearly marked so we ended up walking WAY longer than expected.

Told us to get in line to get on bus. The bus stops right where everyone is getting off the cruise ship. So we are in line and everyone walking off the ship just gets on so we have to wait another 30 minutes for a bus. We get on the bus and it takes us the wrong way we wanted to go. They dont tell you when you get on the bus where it is going. Couldn't find the bus stops so we ended up getting ubers. not a very organized hop on hop off.

If you are looking for an easy and affordable way to explore a new city, the Hop on and Off bus is the way to go! The drivers we had were informed and pretty funny, too. The tour gave us ideas of where we would want to spend more time when visiting in the future.

It actually was fun to do! A great way to see the beautiful city of Victoria and the surrounding areas, with an interesting history! What was most enjoyable was the pride, respect and knowledge that the drivers had, in telling about about their part of the world, totally personable!

We waited 60 minutes for the hop on hop off bus to get to the Victoria British Columbia port Ogden Point. Granted we didn't get to the port till 5 pm and buses stoped at 7pm, so by the time we got on the bus it was 6 pm only had an hour to see the route, we only seen half the stops it was expensive at $52 for 1 hour. Would of rather did a excursion we had till 9:30 pm to get back to the ship.
We've done hop on hop off buses many times and always loved them. Not this one.

Good drivers that also narrate city information. Would be better if they allowed you to hop on at any stop initially but after booking said I had to start from stop 1 to pick up physical ticket.
Buses only run every 30min or 1 hour, making stops tough to plan on a cruise schedule. Had they ran every 30 minutes consistently I would have given 5 star.

We usually operate on a 3-bus schedule and although it is it mostly 30 minutes in-between busses, there are a couple of times through out the day there is a 1-hour wait - which is just operationally how it has to work with that number of busses. This is why we give our schedules with exact times the busses are coming to each stop, so guests can plan their hop on hop off day around those times.
