Overview
Step into a tropical jungle just outside Victoria. The Victoria Butterfly Gardens is located close to Butchart Gardens and is a great way to extend your garden time. The Butterfly Garden houses approximately 70 species of butterfly, in addition to poison dart frogs, tortoises, large iguanas, flamingos, tropical ducks, free flying tropical birds and more. Don’t miss the creepy crawlies in the Insectarium.

Though the Butterfly Garden is a ways out of Victoria city, it’s well worth a visit. The jungle area is enchanting with butterflies flitting around and many animals and plants to see. Magical.

The butterflies are most active on sunny days. Wear bright coloured clothing. Wear something cool, very hot and humid inside

The feel of the gardens was tranquil and I loved the butterflies all around us. I was impressed with the diverse quantity of different animals. Although, a little concerned with the small confines of such animals.

Great experience to see all the animals in the same atea… exotic birds from big to Little turtles Koi fish. The surroundings were very natural and I love it. We had a great time. Got some great pictures.

Went this last weekend with my partner and some friends. We were in town for just a day from Washington state. The butterfly garden was beautiful, and we loved looking at all the insects as well. Beautifully maintained! Heads up, they keep the garden itself warm for the butterflies so don't go inside with a jacket on! You'll be sweating!

It was very informative and fun. It was a nice experience and the staff was kind. They had a place to hang your jackets because it was warm and humid inside.

This was a fun experience. Was with the price. My only suggestion would be to sell the cups of nectar like other ones done e can have them land in us for a move closer and up personal experience. Maybe only offer to adults if worried about children.

This was my first time in a garden like this where the butterflies are flying around you in an unrestricted environment. The conservatory does feel warm and humid reflecting the tropical climate. There are macaws, a flamingo, turtles, and insect displays so it’s not only butterflies. Highly recommend especially as a side stop to or from Butchart Gardens!

Fun space for little ones of all ages! Our kids (1.5 and 5.5) loved exploring it as much as did and roamed for well over an hour in the space. Do come in t-shirts because the space is very hot and humid.

It was garbage, you didn’t give times for getting in and we were on a cruise ship that was going in at later times. When our group tried to communicate and cancel within your timeframe we were met with chaos and misinformation and wound up completely missing the event. But you kept the money.

A neat little place to visit if you've got kids or are really into butterflies. There are a few parrots and some little finches (or maybe sparrows?) also, as well as a flamingo, turtles, lots of koi, and a big iguana.
Facilities were clean. Overall it was very relaxing and good use of time.
