My wife and I went to Victoria for our anniversary. We had a great time drinking some beverages and having appetizers around the town. We got exactly what wewanted. A nice relaxing time visiting fun spots and trying local brews

Arrived and waited by a 'Please wait to be seated' sign at the front of the first restaurant (not really a pub) with 6 other people from the tour. We were there about 15 mins, nice other people but not a welcoming or professional start! The 'guide' who was nice enough was sat with his back to the door chatting to 4 other tours participants! A green waistcoat but no other indication of being the tour!
We then took forever to be served, paying individually for drinks takes time, the snacks provided were difficult to share (congealed nachos!) and we were then told we were running behind time!
The next stop is cute, we sat in full sun and no facilitation occurred to try to find a better table. 'Snacks' were piles of wedges only, not even good ones and we were expected to tip for going to a counter, ordering a drink in a plastic cup and collecting it from another counter! Not sure what the 'service' was but we all did anyway!
Next a hotel rather than a pub. Cocktail list presented. Cold sprouts as the 'snack'. The waitress added 18% tip on top of sales tax and came with the card machine which prompted a further request for a tip on top! (To each person individually again!)
At this point the idea of having drinks included came up. Basically you are paying for 2 short water taxi rides!
Last a noisy pub with screens all over on the corner of the tourist area, not exactly a 'hidden gem', nothing interesting drink wise and some white packet 'pittas' and 'hummus' was given.
That was the end. It was all rather lacklustre and we all commented that some information about the sights or the city would have been appreciated. Even local specialities as the snacks!
Might be just what you are looking for or not!
I've done some brilliant bar/pub tours, this wasn't one of them! It wasn't awful, the guide was on his University holidays, he was pleasant. It was just uninspiring and not thoughtfully arranged.

Fun activity but would have liked more of the boat and better appetizers. The appetizers were good but wish they were more substantial than chips or fries.

We enjoyed this little pub crawl. The walking was a little more than expected and the ride on the pickle boats a little less than expected. A few of the places don’t have GF options so plan to eat before or afterwards. We loved meeting our guide and the lovely people who were in our group. The stop to watch the air show for a little bit was a nice touch that made it extra special.

Only thing we would change is to extend the time at each place so we could spend more time with our tour guide and new friends. The afternoon went way too fast!

It was an all around great experience! Our guide Jack was phenomenal and connected with each of us as an individual as well as brought us together as a group! The appies provided were a great selection our fave being the Brussels🤤 they were SO tasty! We had the chance to sample a variety of beverages and the wait staff at each establishment were very welcoming. I highly recomend it, bonus we were able to walk back to our hotel in about 20 minutes so no need for a DD

The pub crawl by taxi ferries was great. Guide Dyson was great and alot of fun, and meeting nice people. Would have chose better restaurants. 2 out of 4 were good. Only 1 appetizer when expected 2. Last restaurant had disappointing appetizers. Minimalist nachos and bruschetta, I make much better at home.

We had a great group of people of all ages. Jack was a fun guide. The taxi rides were fun. 10 Commons was our favorite stop. As in most places in this town, many steps are involved but not bad.

Me and my friends were not in the group, we did not attend because of lack of guidance and instructions. I asked for refund then the company deny to do that. I will never recommend it to any of my friend.

We loved the experience! We had fun visiting with the other pub crawlers in the group. The water taxi rides were lovely and we experienced pubs we would have never found otherwise. The Fisherman’s wharf stop was our favorite. Jack was a great leader and super organized and efficient with the timing and coordinating!

This Victoria , BC tour was so disappointing!! The stops were not as indicated in the information provided at the time of booking. The information gave the impression that food and drink samples were included in this tour as part of this package for which we paid $130 for my husband and me. According to the information received, the second stop was supposed to be at Fisherman’s Wharf but it was not. The second stop was at Darcy‘s pub where the food sample was one dish of dry taco chips with a little bit of salsa for the five tourists in our group. (Waitress not very friendly). The third stop was supposed to be Songhees Walkway where we were to enjoy “a few small elegant bites and feel a little class…” Not sure where that was but it was not on our tour. Our third stop was at Fisherman’s Wharf but in order for our group to have enough pizza for the five tourists to sample we had to purchase eight drinks as a group. So my husband and I each bought two drinks so that we would (as a group) qualify for two small pizzas to share. The fourth stop supposed to be at Chinatown and the info provided said “let’s finish this tour off in the historical Chinatown walk-through narrow, alleyways past old brick Heritage buildings and see the beautiful Chinatown gate on our way to the last pub on the tour.“ None of this happened on the last leg of our tour as we went straight to another pub (Swan’s Pub) not even seeing anything in Chinatown There we were served a plate with 4 half pieces of dry bread with a small dish of bruschetta for five tourists. We had to ask for more and said there were five people in our group so they brought two more half pieces of bread. Really?! We felt as a group that the whole goal was to get tourists into bars to buy alcohol which at just about each stop staff were quick to get us all to buy. At each stop we had to order drinks which we found out at first stop that we had to pay for ourselves, drink them quickly so we could move onto the next stop. Jack, our tour guide was a nice enough fellow but we’re not really sure what his role was other than companionship. There wasn’t any type of presentation or tourism info provided or planned to present to the group. We spent $130 for a tour that gave us hardly anything to eat where we had to pay another $65 for drinks and tips. There was a couple from Australia in our group who we told that this all was not acceptable to us. They thanked us for saying that as they were thinking this was how things ere done in Canada. We are so disappointed and angry about the whole experience! I will be posting a review on TripAdvisor for people to avoid this tour at all costs!! We felt we were totally ripped off!

Hi Brigette, I'm very sorry you had such a bad experience on this tour. We have changed it slightly since April 1 when we started and the description needed to be updated. We have changed 1 restaurant as well as the order in which we do them so you get more time on the harbour ferries. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, it has now been fully updated
Our guide should have had provided information to share about Victoria, little drunk stories and the some of the history of Fisherman's wharf etc. I'm very disappointed if he told you nothing and I will be making sure that never happens going forward.
Looking at our description, it does say free snacks but it wasn't overly apparent that drinks aren't included. I've also updated this so it is very clear now. The harbour ferry is $15 a ride, so $45 of your ticket price is that, plus a guide, plus free food. We would have to price the tour much higher to provide free drinks.
You wrote me an email with all of this information and I offered to refund your tickets to rectify your experience or offer you a free Bites & Sights tour which seems much more up your alley. I am still very much hoping for you to reply to that email.

Such a fun time! This experience was the perfect thing to do on our first day in town. It was a great way to see different parts of the city and to help us figure out where we want to go and spend more time at later on! The venues were varied as well. We went to 4 very different bars/pubs- the first was business casual, the next was at the Fisherman’s Wharf and outdoors- it was super chill, the third was in a fancy hotel, and the last was pretty laid back and relaxed. The water taxi was fun and our guide Emily was super knowledgeable and had some fun trivia games for us to play! I 100% recommend this to everyone who wants to have fun, drink and meet new people, and see the city from a unique perspective!
