Worth the money for the...

Worth the money for the experience. The food was ok but the location and the music were absolutely fabulous. Did not do the VIP packages, I don’t think that would add much to the evening. Would recommend getting there earlier than 30 minutes in order To spend time roaming the castle grounds, it is stunning.

Fascinating historical day, in a beautiful location with amazing guide

Incredible experience. Such a shame to hear it was destroyed hours after our trip. I thoroughly enjoyed the history that our guide shared with us along the way, seeing areas cut off and heavily guarded during the war. Driving up the winding road admiring the view. Everything was well organised. We left on time, got on buses promptly near the eagles nest, our guide was attentive and made us all laugh on occasion and loved the recommendation for the Schnitzel in the village of Berchtesgaden. The beauty of the autumn colours and snow topped mountains is something I'll never forget and I feel privileged to have seen it in its original condition.

This private group tour of Hallstatt and the Alps (with a number of agreed photo stops) was a wonderful way to see more of the region and learn more about Austria from our fantastic guide, Fritz. He was friendly and amusing and made every effort to tailor the trip for all members of the group. My favourite aspect was how unhurried the trip was, allowing for a long, leisurely time in Hallstatt to explore, eat and enjoy the spectacular views. In comparison to other trips I have been on this was very relaxed and flexible. Hallstatt is busy with tourists and can feel quite chaotic; having additional time allows you to avoid some of the rush and find quieter spots for enjoying the scenery or to eat in relative peace. I cannot praise Fritz enough for his wealth of knowledge and his personalised recommendations, he was a genuine gentleman. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed his company.

Very Enjoyable

This was a great day trip from Salzburg. We learned a lot about the are and saw some beautiful scenery. The salt mines were a little touristy, but I would still recommend doing it. It was really neat to see the history of Hallstatt while also learning where salt actually comes from. Our tour guide, Shiva, was wonderful!

Entertaining tour of Sound of Music film sites

It’s been years since I watched Sound of Music, but I truly enjoyed this entertaining tour of sites in Salzburg that were featured in the musical. The guide was a very knowledgeable, and queued up music from the movie and even engaged the group on the bus. He explained some of the challenges involved in filming as well. Highly recommended.

The guide was exceptional. He gave us a great talk on the way out with lots of historical and environmental facts. Who knew ‘salary’ originates from the first salt trading? Brilliant advice on how to get the most of our time there with a great walking route. We had time to take a boat on the lake for the best view of Hallstatt thanks to his guidance. Mozart magic! Chamber music at the top of the Hohensalzburg Fortress!

Incredible experience. Easy to take the funicular train to the Fortress. Go a bit early so you can walk around. Wear flat shoes for stairs, cobblestones and sandy pathways. The concert is at the very top of the Fortress in a gorgeous room with amazing acoustics for chamber music. The artists are so very talented. We purchased a sparkling white wine to enjoy during the concert.

Salt Mine Tour

The Salt Mine Tour was not only fun, but extremely interesting. We got to dress up as miners and ride deep into the mine, we slid down two slides and even used a boat to get across one stretch of water! It was a really unique experience, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Had a lovely time with Johan and his team as we learned how to make struedel and traditional crescent cookies, and also enjoyed a very nice lunch of ghoulash. The cooking school is built into the cliff, which was an interesting aspect of the experience.
