What are people saying about Salzburg

I’m a believer…glad I booked it!
Considering I booked this as a gift to my wife, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and seeing the rest of the group enjoy it as well. Josh ranks I. The top two of my global tour guides. He’s knowledgable, funny, and professional. The entire bus sang a long and participated. His personal passion and interest in the Sound of Music story was a value add. My wife who is a big fan smiled the entire time and was the first to every site like a kid in a candy store.
The lunch added a nice twist. It took a little long, they apologized and comped our drinks. Glad we chose that option too. The food was great….considering it wasn’t Louisiana cooking.

Wonderful tour to Hallstatt
Amazing day out to Hallstatt. The weather was not on our side, but our fantastic tour guide had contingencies in place, kept a close eye on the changing weather and even had jackets and umbrellas ready to go. He was incredibly knowledgeable and the entire day was efficient, organised, interesting and fun. Thank you so much. We highly recommend.

Great half day tour!
This half day tour to Eagle's Nest was very informative and interesting. Our guide, Michael, did a great job explaining everything and made the experience entertaining. Even our teenage son was paying attention :) I would highly recommend this private tour.

Would give 100 stars.
The person who directs these classes is not only obviously a fantastic chef, but a wonderful teacher. Everyone, no matter what skill, succeeded. We got to eat both our apple strudel and our Salzburger knockel with a delicious goulash they provided for us. They have the directions online and they cookbook that you could buy so you could repeat the process at home. They even sold for a very reasonable price the cloth that is useful in making apple strudel. The price was very reasonable and I suggest everyone start booking in advance because it’s going to be a well spread by mouth wished for activity.

Great tour!
Connor was a great tour guide for both parts of the tour (sound of music and Halstatt). Bus was clean and comfortable and had great views of the countryside. Just enough time in Halstatt without being too much time. Information provided on Sound of Music sites was good and quite interesting. A great way to survey Salzburg and the surrounding area in a short amount of time.

A Musical Experience of Mozart in Salzburg
The concert hall itself is beautiful, as are the entrance, staircase, and corridors. The experience also gives visitors access to parts of the building that are not normally open to the public, which makes it even more special.
Listening to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the city of Mozart certainly feels meaningful and authentic. The clarinetist was particularly impressive, especially during the excerpts from The Magic Flute.
The program is mainly focused on works and themes that connect Mozart with Salzburg, which creates a nice atmosphere for visitors. Although it is somewhat tourist-oriented, it is still genuinely worth attending, even for people who are not experts or regular listeners of classical music.

Sound of Music Tour -A must do in Salzburg!
Jose and Galinda were our tour guides and they were great! The Sound of Music tour stopped at several places, and we were able to see so many of the places where it was filmed. We also learned more details about the Von Trapp family. We also did the salt mine tour which is a lot to do in a day, but we like to paxl ot in. I'd highly recommend both tours!

Johannes, our guide, was...
Johannes, our guide, was really knowledgeable. He took the time to bring us around and shared the history of the area, as well as lives of the people living there now. He brought us to a beautiful viewpoint for a photo, as well as recommended a cosy local shop for some schnapps. It was a nice surprise, considering I was only expecting to be brought to the salt mine. My husband and I really enjoyed the trip and will definitely love to bring our children for the trip in the future!

Were vast even given it was the busy weekend before Christmas. I do wish we would have e stopped at the look out in the Lake District for photos, before heading to the wedding church. Mondsee has its weekend market so that was a special highlight!

Elvis was the best tour...
Elvis was the best tour guide. He flexed our itinerary with the weather conditions, was so knowledgeable and interesting to listen to, gave us plenty of free time to explore while getting us to all the pertinent sights on time. This was by far one of the highlights of our two week European vacation. Highly recommend!

Worth the money but guidance would have been appreciated.
Overall it was a great opportunity to see Salzburg from the river, eat some good food and enjoy some Mozart. What I didn’t understand is why they couldn’t have had a guide because it was at times confusing going from 1 part of the city to another. I certainly don’t think a guide was necessary for the entire trip but perhaps this company could provide at least as t a YouTube video explaining everything so to make this a more cohesive experience. Amazing Salt Mines and Hallstatt
Fabulous experience, our guide Fritz was very informative. I remember waking up and asking my friend, why are we doing a Salt mine excursion? It was so fun, learned so much. When our guide mentioned something about slides, I wondered what he meant! Absolutely loved the slides. Hallstatt is a constant Kodak moment. Unfortunately we had a cloudy rainy day but it was still spectacular.
There was a misunderstanding about pick up. It clearly stated on Viator that we would be picked up in our hotel reception area and to be there 15 minutes before the scheduled pick up time. We were concerned because by pick up time no one had arrived to pick us up. And because I had an eSIM (European) in my phone I was concerned first of all because for some reason I was no longer receiving emails and wondered if my phone would work as my personal number was turned off. But 15 minutes after our pick up time I received a phone call and we were picked up shortly thereafter. Apparently there is a disconnect between the information given to us on Viator and the local guide. I had filled in our hotel name and address. But after that all went well.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
While Salzburg has plenty to offer visitors, it's also a great base for exploring the natural features and castles of the Austrian and Bavarian Alps. Organized Salzburg day trips make it easy to see spots inaccessible by public transportation. You can head out to the Salzkammergut lake district to see sites made famous by The Sound of Music, deepen your understanding of World War II history with a trip to the Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest), which was initially a Nazi meeting spot, or even check out Eisriesenwelt, the world’s largest ice cave.
