El Valle is a town inside a dead crater of a volcano where locals and expats have their "mountain" homes because of the nice weather and only two hours from the city. Tour to Embera Community & waterfall on Rio Chagres

We had an absolutely amazing day with the beautiful Embera Pararapuru community on the Rio Chagres. Our tour guide and driver Orlando clearly has a great relationship with them which made for a great trip and experience. We went sailing to the remote waterfall where some of us took a dip and then spending time with the community in their traditional village to see something of their way of life. We were pleasantly surprised by the plentiful hot buffet lunch. The tilapia fried fish was the best we've ever tasted and some had second helping. There was also an abundance of fresh fruit and a refreshing simple lemonade drink which brought back memories of growing up in Jamaica. We also enjoyed the interactive dancing and were lucky enough to be there at the end of the school day when the primary aged children came home. And we met one of their two very dedicated teachers which was nice too. Our prayer is that the Embera tribe will be allowed to continue their traditions in their own space on the Chagres islands despite challenges and surviving alongside modern day Panama. Thank you Pararapuru community we had a wonderful time. Meeting you was the icing on the cake for our wonderful week and first visit to Panama. The trip was very well organized. Everything was on time. We felt very safe. Thank you Orlando!! Thank you Panama!! We'll be back!!

The actual trip was a great experience. The problem i'm starting to notice is, they are adding fees on top of the initial cost. For example: the cost of the boat ride is an additional twenty dollars per person. Another example is the indian village. They charge an additional thirty five dollars per person. As a customer I would prefer everything being included in the initial price. The tour guide that I had her name was Jenny. She was amazing! Very knowledgeable of all the monkeys and the different parts of the panama canal. My overall experience was amazing. I really enjoyed the trip.

This tour was fun and it was a great value. Four parts: driving tour, boating around the islands looking for animals, stopping for a snack, and then a jungle walk. Enrique was informative and entertaining and we saw LOTs of animals even a sloth. Good for all ages.

One of the best excursions we did on our Panama Canal Cruise. Ruben was the BEST. We really enjoyed his knowledge of Panama City. I would love to come back and just spend a few days here. I highly recommend this tour and it is a great cruise ship excursion without going through all the nonsense of a cruise line excursion.

Partial crossing: my bucket list journey

Our partial transit from Miraflores to Pedro Miguel was a spectacular; entering from the Pacific side, we watched the historic Miraflores Locks lift the massive ship in front of our boat into the canal system. Navigating the narrow channels with mere inches to spare was an absolute engineering marvel. Cruising through the canal offered beautiful views complemented by good onboard breakfast & lunch. The onboard narration about the operation of the lock system and the canal’s history was excellent while we watched the massive gates and the electric mules operate at the same time. It was the perfect blend of history & engineering. (Even though we only did the partial crossing, we hired a car to drive to Colón to the Agua Clara locks and Gatun locks, the drive through the National forest was beautiful and seeing the ships enter the Caribbean Sea on the other end made the trip worthwhile)

The Red Cat Crew are the best!! All the crew do the best they can to make everyone as comfortable as they can and they communicate very well. Was a full cruise and well driven by the captain and rigged by the rest of the crew. Is a great boat and a very steady voyage with music, drinks, swimming, dancing and so much fun!! The island is nice too!!

A memorable experience

I had an amazing time! The crew members were so friendly and very interactive. The games were fun and educational. The line dancing was fun and hilarious. The food was good. The drinks were endless. The other travelers were all very nice! Everyone was just having a grand time. I would absolutely recommend this! Lastly, I forgot my sunglasses and one of the crew members searched for some and let me borrow them! I was so appreciative!

Still the best; you won’t regret

Be prepared for 4 hours of fun. The DJs did replay songs (unknowingly) at different spots which was a little annoying but this is the perfect way to experience old city nightlife without waiting in line for ages for entrance and drinks. The team is well coordinated and helpful each step of the way. Bring your energy and have the best time.
