Must Do! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re considering a cooking class in Antigua, stop searching and book this one!!
This experience was easily one of the highlights of our three-week trip through Guatemala and Belize. From the moment we met Milton, we knew we were in for something special. We unfortunately ran late due to transportation issues, but he was incredibly flexible, accommodating, and gracious, immediately putting us at ease.
The experience began with a fascinating walk through the local market, where Milton shared insights about Guatemalan culture, ingredients, and daily life that we never would have learned on our own. His knowledge was impressive, but what truly stood out was the way he shared it—with genuine passion, warmth, and humility.
The property where the class took place (his house) was absolutely stunning, providing the perfect setting for an unforgettable afternoon. Milton’s son Diego was the perfect sous chef, and Milton helped guide us through the preparation while keeping everything fun and relaxed.
Every dish we made was delicious, but the experience was about so much more than the food. Milton has a beautiful aura and one of the calmest, kindest personalities of anyone we’ve met while traveling. Conversation flowed naturally, and by the end of the class we felt like we had spent the day with a friend rather than a teacher.
From the market tour to the final meal, every detail was thoughtfully planned and expertly executed. We left with full stomachs, new skills, a deeper appreciation for Guatemala, and wonderful memories we’ll talk about for years.
Thank you, Milton and Diego, for such a stellar experience. If you’re visiting Antigua, this is an absolute must-do.
I’d give this experience 10 stars if I could. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Daryl was an amazing guide!
We did this ATV coffee tour the day after we did the ATV sunset tour in Antigua by the same tour agency - Simoon Rentals and Tours. We could not have asked for a better guide who was so knowledgeable and gave us a full rundown on the coffee making process at the coffee farm Finca La Azotea which was in a beautiful setting in Jocotenango, a town just north of Antigua. Initially after visiting the historic coffee farm we were supposed to go to Cerro de La Cruz but we had already covered that during the sunset tour the previous day, so Daryl was kind enough to instead take us to a busy plaza in San Pedro Las Huertas where we could see a cool communal washing station where people would gather to wash clothes together and trade gossip and we also got to understand the process of mining, refining, and designing jade at a nearby family-run jade shop that is 3 generations strong. The pieces were so beautiful and learning about the jade-making process was so informative that we were happy to support them by buying a few pieces from them and their prices are more than fair and don’t overpriced! The shop is named king brothers jades Munro Maya. If you decide to take this your will not regret your time and money spent and I would highly recommend asking for Daryl to be your tour guide as he’s very kind, informative and speaks English very well :)

Just BOOK it!
This was such a good time! This was my last day in Antigua and this was such a great way to spend it. We learned about some history, culture and then cooking. It was only 3 of us in the class and I think that added to everything. If you are on the fence about this, DO IT. You won’t be disappointed. And Dario was just a pleasure to to have as a guide.

Fun, informative, and...
Fun, informative, and tasty experience in Antigua! The chocolate maker was fun and engaging with the whole audience. Making the chocolate was also fun! You can stay after and read more about the history of chocolate on their posters throughout the building.

All in One
Oscar is a well of knowledge about the area, the topography, and the history of Guatemala. The tour was great and we traveled far on the ATVs through the streets of Antigua. Definitely go with a buddy if you have any aches, pains, or get tired quickly. Once you start, there’s no quitting.

The class was fun and the food was delicious! The conversation with the chef and participants was engaging and interesting. Some of the stuff we learned from the class can be applied outside just the dishes we were taught to make as well!!
Money and time well spent! :)

Delicious food and wonderful tour guide!
We had a wonderful time and ate great food! It was really nice exploring some nearby towns to get a true taste of local cuisine. Our tour guide Nelly was fantastic and made the experience unforgettable. She was super knowledgeable about the food and was even able to tell the group about some Guatemalan history. Highly recommend!

Great Private Shuttle
I was extremely satisfied with my experience. We booked a private shuttle for 3 people from Antigua to Guatemala City. The car was clean, spacious and had AC which was much appreciated. The driver was very friendly and helpful, and arrived on time for our scheduled booking. I would highly recommend booking this service.

Jose is the best!
Jose did an amazing job with our walking tour. We learned so much interesting history about Antigua! He also took one of my favorite photos of my entire trip for me at the Santa Catrina arch. Much as Gracias Jose!!
PS Be aware, part of the tour is a sales pitch for jade, that was the only thing we didn’t like, we did enjoy learning about the jade and its significance to the Mayan people, but we didn’t enjoy the sales side of things—I’ve never paid for a sales pitch before. Just something we didn’t realize when we booked.

This chocolate-making experience in Antigua Guatemala was honestly one of the highlights of my trip! 🍫
The hosts were AMAZING—super friendly, funny, and you can tell they really love what they do. They made the whole experience feel fun and relaxed, not like a typical “tour.”
You actually get hands-on with everything, from learning about the cacao to making your own chocolate, which made it way more memorable. I learned a lot without it ever feeling like a lesson.
By the end, I had a whole new appreciation for chocolate (and yes, got to enjoy some too 😄).
If you’re in Antigua, don’t even think twice—just book it. Totally worth it!

Do not miss this opportunity!!
Absolutely fantastic. Delicious food, beautiful location, lovely hosts/instructors. 4 of us were in Antigua for Semana Santa, and booked a cooking class at Cuscun school in Jocotenango. Our chef was Dario, assisted by Melany, and we had a phenomenal experience learning about the guatemalan ingredients, flavors, and history behind the meal we helped to prepare. Dario was not only a great host, providing guidance and commentary in both English and Spanish, but was also a really fun companion for the evening. The weather cooperated so we spent the full several hours on the rooftop, with wonderful views of the skyline and volcanoes. I cannot recommend this experience enough. And Cuscun school is incredibly fortunate to have chef Dario.

Fun Cultural Tour
This was a great tour that took us to smaller towns outside of Antigua. We visited family-run businesses, including a chocolate factory, coffee plantation and textile weaving business; and a village market where we tried local foods. Riding the ATVs added an element of fun to the cultural excursion. Highly recommend!
