Our guide, Valentina, was quite knowledgeable and really engaging. Our interests were aligned and she exceeded our expectations. This was our first time to Trieste and the tour was a great start to our 3 days here. We followed her recommendations for other sites, cafes, and restaurants. We weren’t disappointed.

Strolling through Trieste’s major landmarks and neighborhoods this morning with our guide, Santiago, was a treat. It was like being led around by an old friend who happened to know a great deal about the history and culture of the city. We had an outstanding experience with Gioia as our tour guide in Trieste. From the very beginning, she was incredibly accommodating and flexible when we ran into unexpected travel delays getting into the city. Over the course of three hours, Gioia gave us a comprehensive and engaging tour of Trieste. Matteo is a very good tour guide. He is knowledgeable and is a good teacher, explaining Trieste history over the centuries. We learned history that we had never heard before. He was patient with our questions. His History college degree was put to good use.

Our guide, Valentina was so sweet and accommodating. We ran into problems storing our luggage before our tour (in the pouring rain) and she was very helpful and adjusted our location and timing. She made sure we experienced the best of Trieste in and out of the pouring rain! She understood our love of coffee and took us to the most enchanting place—no matter our struggles she made it enjoyable and we saw the sights we wouldn’t have found on our own.

If we could give this 6 stars we would. Ask for Matteo he was amazing!!!! We weren't sure what we wanted to see besides experiencing outside the tourist section. He had multiple ideas and took us on a walking tour up above Trieste to Prosecco village and down to Miramare Castle. It was breathtaking to say the least.
He brought us all the tickets we needed had it planned perfect, had water in case we need and multiple maps of all the things to see in the city. Throughout the day he provided amazing history and context. He also knew the best picture spots and even had a drone! Absolutely one of the best tours ever taken!

This viator experience or mini-excursion is for anyone who doesn't speak Italian, and needs help with travel navigation, necessities or communication with locals. I can see this being perfect for tourists wanting to go off the beaten path and find a couple of wonders not in the major tour guides. In our case, we need to find a drug store for some necessities and then needed a recommendation for happy hour drinks with a lovely view of the bay and a restaurant pick. Alice was perfectly helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. She also guided us from our hotel to the grand piazza and to the waterfront at "Eataly" for drinks and treats. Highly recommended and "far above value of money spent" for personal touch of help for 1-3 hours, as needed in Trieste.

We disembarked Majestic Princess and made our way to the Savoi Excelsior Hotel where our guide, Mateo met us. We had a lovely walk about and learned so much about the culture and history of Trieste and the surrounding area. Then our room was ready upon our return!

Our guide was on time and showed us lots of great spots throughout Trieste. We didn’t have any specific places we asked to see but had the guide show us what they thought we should. The church at the top of the hill was beautiful and worth the climb! He showed us where good restaurants and places to try for different types of food as well. Only suggestion was if he spoke a bit more English would’ve been nice just to answer historical questions. Definitely a good way to see the city!

Gioia was an amazing tour guide. She was very friendly and knew so much about the history and culture of Trieste. She explained everything clearly and even gave us great tips on where to eat.
She made the tour special by helping us practice our Italian, just like we asked. It felt like we were living as locals for a day.
Trieste is a beautiful and underrated city with lots of history and amazing architecture. If you’re visiting for the first time, I highly recommend Gioia. She made our experience unforgettable!

Our guide, Gioia, was marvelous. I requested her based on reviews I had read. She did not disappoint! Gioia was fluent in English and communicated all information with precision. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She set a comfortable pace and always took our comfort into consideration. (Trieste is hilly!) Gioia took us to have lunch in a spot that served typical local fare. Without her we would never have known to order the plum gnocchi or the goulash! What a treat! Our day in Trieste will be memorable not only for the sights we saw and the history we learned, but also for a lovely afternoon with a delightful lady. Thank you, Gioia!

Our guide Gioia was amazing and gave us an excellent 2 hour tour of Trieste. Her knowledge of the history and culture of the city was incredible and she conveyed it in excellent English. We learned about the early Roman era as well as insights into current city culture. We also visited several beautiful churches and got the inside scoop on the good restaurants and more. Totally made our 1 day in Trieste special and would heartily recommend her to anyone.

Two caveats: humidity and walking/hiking.
Humidity does not bother me, but I could see it being a limiting factor to some. Pick the right time of the year to visit.
I enjoy walking/hiking, and I came prepared. I recommend wearing appropriate sneakers and drinking plenty of water.

Our guide was lovely but knew very little about the history and art of Trieste. Our questions were answered courtesy of Wikipedia. The tour was expensive and a complete rip-off. This shouldn’t reflect on our young and inexperienced tour guide. Avoid this tour company.
