Our guide Simona was energetic, friendly and so informative about the history of Milan. She gave us suggestions where to eat, shop and go after the tour and before the tour even started asked us what we wanted to include on the tour. Highly recommend Simona!

We’ve had many wonderful tour guides thru Viator. The local Milan tour guide named Lisa was the worst ever!!! She spoke so quietly and robotically we tuned her out. Could not hear or understand 90% of what she said. She was so boring. There was definitely something “off” about her. Do not book a tour with Lisa. A HUGE waste of our time and money.

Reza: The worst guide I’ve ever experienced. More silent walks than stories. We’re coming by interesting places, and if we don’t ask about it, it won’t be mentioned. Answer in 2-3 sentences. He even did not know that square holes in the walls were used for scaffolding. Not worth 1/4 of the money we paid.

We had a great tour guide. Highly recommend unscripted tours. We had only one day in
Milan and our guide Massimo emailed us two weeks before to get information on things we would like to see. Told us how to prepurchase the Last Supper tickets. He made sure everything was seamless and the walking was at our pace. Informative and great company for the day!

This tour really helped me understand the city layout and become familiar with important locations. I went on a day and during a time of year when many things were closed, but I imagine the tour would be even more interesting during a better time of year and day of the week. It would have been nice to know what was open and closed further in advance, so my plans could be rearranged, but otherwise this as a nice tour.

We booked 4-hours tour with local and got a Pakistani student Usama who is living for 3 years in Milan. Usama is a nice person but it is clearly not enough to be a good guide for 4-hours tour - it requires more preparation and knowledge about history, culture and architecture of the city. These skills were almost absent.

I am sorry to hear that your recent City Unscripted experience was not what you were hoping for. Here at City Unscripted we offer private and personalised experiences. We are not a tour company with licensed tour guides but rather our local hosts are meant to share their favorite places and stories about their life in the city. Ousama, like all our hosts, is passionate about his city, Milan, and wants to share this passion with travellers. We do require a good base knowledge of history and culture and each of our hosts is tested on these. Nevertheless, our hosts are rarely licensed guides. What they aim to do is to show travellers the city through the eyes of a local. Even if our hosts were not born in their respective city, they have been there for several years and know all its corners and hidden gems.
I am sorry if there was any confusion about the format of the experience, and I hope you are willing to join another one of our locals in any of our 40+ destinations worldwide in the future.

Emily was a wonderful guide. We got to be taken around with no worries of getting lost or having any translation issues. She even helped us navigate the post office to get postcard stamps.
She planned a number of cultural stops just as we had asked and even took us to some places we would have passed by if not for her knowledge. She was warm and friendly.
After our tour, she even followed up with an email of more suggestions and helpful links for other things to do and see.
