The trail is situated in the centre of Terceira island and along the way we will observe the endemic flora of the Azores, large pastures and even some of the island´s fauna. Today's main attraction is “Rocha de Chambre ", a vertical wall located at 708m above sea level with a splendid view over Azinhal valley, Pico Alto. After this climb, time to admire the view from the Pico das Caldeirinhas and Pico Vermelho volcanic caldera. The last part of the trail passes along a dry stone wall in an area dominated by Azorean heather, an endemic floral specie. After lunch, time to get amazed with Algar do Carvão, a volcanic chimney that is, without doubt, the best known volcanic cave in the Azores. The true spirit of sharing and friendship. High moment of your holidays. Unique experience for those who really enjoy savoring traditional food The food is made in a wood-fired oven made of lava stones, similar to our ancestors and that gives an unmistakable flavor that can not be found in the local restaurants. Besides the food, the drink is always present and I give tips of the best wines and we talk above all about what characterizes us as islanders in the middle of this immense ocean. Main ingredient is the passion that is dedicated to the preparation of the recipes (Can request the opening of some date to be agreed, depending on the number of people.) We speak English and Spanish and then the wine speaks for itself

Amazing trip around the island

Amazing day exploring the island with a kind and knowledgeable guide Andre. The route is well selected and the views are breathtaking. Unique experience and Alot of fun.

We were not sure what to expect on this half day tour but it wound up being so much fun and we highly recommend it. Andre was our guide and he was very personable and informative about all the stops. The two cave stops were very very different and totally unique experiences and so much fun. He gave us plenty of time to take photos and enjoy each place. Very much recommend this tour.

Fabulous Azorean tour

What a great experience. We traveled to Biscoitos and tasted an old wine. Then after a beautiful trip across the island to the north and east we arrived for a fabulous wine and food smorgasbord at Victor’s Home party central! More wine tastings , dessert and liquor tastings!! Everything was delicious including the cake his wife bakes for dessert. On the way back we were given info about the sights along the way. Don’t miss this! A great introduction to Azorean wines in a relaxed and delicious experience.. Victor is the best! Delicious food and wine along with a wealth of info!!

Terceira Island Highlights Tour - Azores

Caroline_P, Aug 2026

Seeing is believing

I chose this tour because of the consistently excellent reviews and beautiful photos, although I’ll admit I was a little skeptical and wondered if they might be too good to be true. After spending such a wonderful day with Emilia, I can happily say the experience lived up to—and even exceeded—our expectations. Emilia was an excellent driver, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Terceira. She shared so much with us about the island’s history, culture, traditions, and present-day life. Her genuine love and pride for her beautiful island made the experience even more special. The scenery throughout the day was absolutely breathtaking, and the lunch was delicious from beginning to end—a real highlight of the experience. I can confidently recommend this tour, especially as one of the first things you do when visiting Terceira. It’s a wonderful introduction to the island and gives you a true appreciation for everything that makes Terceira so special. Thank you, Emilia, for such a memorable day!

Private Caves Tour with a Geologist

He was full of...

He was full of information. We would have blundered through all of those attractions blind and missed out on soo much stuff had we tried to do that by ourselves. He was very friendly and answered every question we threw at him. This was a 10/10 experience. Favorite thing we've done in the Azores so far.

Cave Tour in Terceira

Bobbye_K, Jul 2026

Excellent Family Tour

This was a wonderful experience. We were picked up from the hotel by our guide Bernardo in a jeep. It was just me, my husband, and my 5 year old daughter. Bernardo was very personable and a wealth of information. We learned so much about the island, its history, and its culture. We never felt rushed and he was so good with our daughter. The caves are a must see if you are visiting the island. He also gave us several recommendations for restaurants and places to go with our daughter during our stay on the island. Strongly recommend booking!

It was a fantastic tour. We didn't have the best weather for part of the day, but our guide Bernardo did a really great job of adjusting the tour to give us a wonderful day. Lunch was incredible and we visited places you don't see on other tours. Bernardo was knowledgeable, professional, and also fun. We had a great time with him.

A private tour is the...

A private tour is the ONLY way to see this beautiful island. The weather is unpredictable and we switched seeing the sights on the fly to be able to get the most out of the tour. Our guide, Antonio S. Is professional, informative, kind and best of all funny. In fact, he is a wealth of knowledge. Great curated tour!
