Wow! Jeju Mama Was Amazing

Our host Elin (aka Jeju Mama) was one of the highlights of this trip. Our tour bus, driven by Mr Seong (any misspelling is my fault) and after pickups at five different Jeju City locations he took us all around the Eastern end of the island. We started at Hueree Natural Park. It is a botanical park famous for seasonal flowers, walking trails, and themed photo installations celebrating the natural beauty of the island. we got to pick tangerines here. Our second stop was at the Jeju Stone Park. It was a traditional stone fortress wall with an intricately decorated wooden gate. It showed the islander’s use of volcanic basalt. We ate lunch here. Our third stop was at the Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak). Leftover from a volcanic eruption over 5,000 years ago, the peak has a staircase between 500-600 steps up and the same on the way down. It takes 20-40 minutes to make the climb. The rest is easy because it is all downhill from there! LOL. We were supposed to see the Haenyeo women divers but wind and surf conditions kept them from their sea harvest. So we went to the Haenyeo Museum instead. Our final stop was at the Manjanggul Lava Tube. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring one of the finest and longest underground lava tunnel systems in the entire world. We have visited dozens of cave systems over our lifetime but this one was unique. From the platforms you walk on thru the cave to the explanatory kiosks that dot your trip thru the cave. Amazing. Our tour guide Elin was so helpful thru the entire day. She used WhatsApp like a professional, passing on information. Some as simple as “time to be back on the bus” to photos of the group. She was five stars in our book.

A Memorable Experience

I've been on more than a few ship sponsored tours and independent tours. When I can say that this one tour will stay in my memory for a long time, I mean it. I have never had a tour guide more hands on and informative, while also being hands off when the time called for it. Our ship was late getting cleared and the tour had to be adjusted. Instead of shortening the times at the sites we were all there to see, she cut the lunch out we were going to have to pay for anyway. THIS is the way to do it. I was really hoping it would go that way. LOTS of time at each stop. Just so enjoyable. I am also certain that if it had been anyone other than Elin, things would not have been nearly as wonderful as they were. I will be looking her up if I ever come to Jeju Island again, and Yeha Tours if they are available wherever I go.

Amazing One-Day Jeju Tour with John — Highly Recommend!

John did an amazing job showing us the highlights of Jeju Island in just one day! From picking us up at the airport right on time to taking us around the beautiful eastern side of the island, he made sure we experienced as much as possible. Our day started with a visit to the charming coastal village of Gimnyeong, where we enjoyed the beautiful turquoise waters and picturesque red lighthouse at Segial Beach. We then headed to Woljeongri Beach, where we stopped at a cute seaside café for drinks and delicious pastries while enjoying the ocean views. Next was the fascinating Manjanggul Lava Tube, a UNESCO World Heritage site. One of the highlights was lunch at Jonga Abalone Restaurant, where we enjoyed some of the best fish of our entire trip! The local seafood dishes were absolutely delicious and made for a memorable meal. Jon even managed to squeeze in a quick visit to a local market before taking us to Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), another UNESCO World Heritage site, where we hiked up to see the impressive volcanic crater and breathtaking views. What impressed us most was how much John managed to fit into our day. He was punctual, accommodating, and flexible throughout, making sure we got to experience everything we wanted without feeling rushed. He even dropped us off at the airport later than we had originally anticipated, going above and beyond to make our day special. If you’re visiting Jeju for just one day and want to make the most of your time, Jon is the tour guide for you! He truly did it all, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

He was funny and informative, and made the day flow easily which added to our enjoyment. We were lucky with great weather and the right day to see the Haenyeo performance which was a highlight. Beatiful Cave

Manjanggul Cave was truly a natural wonder. As I entered the cave, I was amazed by its mysterious atmosphere and the enormous lava tunnel stretching deep into the darkness. The unusual shapes of the rocks and the fascinating volcanic formations revealed the incredible power of nature. I was especially impressed by the lava stalactites and the massive lava column, which looked like magnificent sculptures created by nature over thousands of years. Inside the cave, the cool air and quiet surroundings made me feel as if I had entered another world. The darkness, combined with the beautiful rock formations, created a sense of wonder and peacefulness. I could hardly believe that such an extraordinary place had been formed naturally by flowing lava. It made me appreciate the beauty of nature and the remarkable geological history of Jeju Island. The other destinations were also beautiful and memorable. Seongeup Folk Village offered a glimpse into traditional Jeju life, Seopjikoji provided stunning coastal scenery, and Seongsan Ilchulbong impressed me with its magnificent volcanic landscape. Hamdeok Beach was another highlight, with its clear turquoise water and soft white sand. Overall, this tour was an unforgettable experience. Although every destination had something special to offer, Manjanggul Cave left the deepest impression on me. Its mysterious beauty, impressive scale, and unique volcanic formations reminded me that nature is the greatest artist of all. I will always cherish the wonderful memories of this trip to Jeju Island.

Peter went above and beyond - fantastic tour!

We were a group of 5 women and our guide for the day on the Jeju tour was Peter. He was so good at English and communication was very easy. We had an ambitious itinerary for the day - he not only guided us but stretched himself and made it happen for us! He told us so many stories about Jeju and its history and was always very patient and helpful when it came to recommendations on where to eat, spots for a quick scenic stop over etc … we came away with beautiful memories of Jeju island, thanks to Peter! Highly recommend this tour !!!!

Great way to enjoy Jeju’s nature

I went on the tour with Clara, the tour guide, and Mr. Kim, the driver. The tour was designed well to start with the 1100 Altitude Wetlands (a little walk but mostly chance to have a quick breakfast at the convenience store with the observation deck) and highlighted the southern Jeju spots and a little bit of eastern by the way of O’sulloc Museum. I specifically took this tour to be able to visit O’sulloc Museum, which is not easy to do as a solo traveler who doesn’t want to drive. It was nice to be able to see a lot of Seogwipo area as someone staying in Jeju city. The tour was paced well for me, I felt we had enough time at each stop. There were no weird sales stops along the way. Clara was very informative as a native Jeju dweller to highlight the reasons why we were making each stop. It is a bit of a hike involved in many stops, as Jeju is just a very hilly place with lots of steps and walking to see a good amount of these stops. Clara also took great photos, another plus for going on a group tour as a solo traveler. The tour is a bit longer than eight hours by the time you get to Jeju city area, so flights or other next itinerary should be planned accordingly.

Good Intro to Jeju

Lots of vertical hiking on this day trip from Jeju Port. Wear comfy shoes, bring water, and prepare to sweat! But the views were beautiful and worth the climb. Our guide Eun-sun was very friendly and knowledgeable! Pro Tip: when you get to the traditional village stay with the guide or else you may miss out on the actual experience!

Custom itinerary is the way to go!

We had some idea of what we wanted to see in Jeju (mostly nature and scenic viewpoints), so it wasn't a big deal that our driver didn't speak much English. He was waiting for us when we exited the cruise terminal and he had planned out our itinerary based on my requested sightseeing stops. At each stop, he walked us to the entrance and helped us purchase entry tickets and then waited in the car for us to finish. I loved that we were able to customize the itinerary timings to our needs. We included a black pork lunch in Seogwipo, and when we were ahead of schedule after lunch, our driver even took us to an additional attraction before driving us back to the cruise port.

Mr. Yong was waiting on...

Mr. Yong was waiting on us as we came off the cruise ship. He asked us to go over the days itinerary with him to add or subtract anything we didn’t want to see. He was always a gentleman and took a lot of pictures for us. He keep us informed how much time we had at the stop to see everything and making it back on the ship in time. I would definitely recommend Mr Yong as a driver and he does speak some English which helped!
