Board your coach in Rome, and relax on the road to Montepulciano, a small wine town that shows off Tuscany at its best. You’ll explore its center on a walking tour, seeing the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and learning about the prestigious "vino nobile” of Montepulciano.
After a visit to Tempio di San Biagio, a Renaissance church backed by Val d’Orcia’s undulating hills, it’s time for lunch. Savor a 3-course meal of local fare, and sample the region’s wine including the Brunello di Montalcino.
In the afternoon, enjoy free time in Pienza. Its UNESCO-listed historic center was realized in Renaissance times by Pope Pius II, and it remains as impressive today as it was in pontiff’s days. Hear tips for architecture to see or shops to browse, and scout out Pienza’s prized pecorino cheese.
Regroup at the agreed time, and return to Rome by coach.

This tour was great. Our guide Chiara was excellent. The scenery was beautiful. The towns were so picturesque. Looks like a long tour but there is plenty of free time and rests on the coach. We learnt so much about Rome and Tuscany. The lunch was not bad. The spaghetti was great, and you get to try 7 local wines together with other local produce. I would highly recommend this one.

The whole experience was amazing. The tour guide (Viviana) was very knowledgeable and professional. Her engaging stories and historical insights made the experience very special. The scenery along the way is so beautiful. The wine tasting inside a historic cellar was one of the highlights of the day. And the lunch was equally unforgettable, with fresh pasta, local cheeses, olive oil and perfectly paired wines enjoyed in the heart of the countryside.

Our experience didn’t start out great. The meeting point was a little chaotic and the man handing out headsets and headphones was really rude to the people in our group and was even more disrespectful to our amazing tour guide, Ana. The only other mishap was our first stop— but it wasn’t really the tour guides fault, it was the tourists who didn’t listen to instruction. Took half hour to get everyone sync’d when we already got sync’d at our meeting point.
Aside from that, the experience was delightful. We saw a lot of the beautiful Tuscan side and ventured through some new towns we hadn’t seen or heard of before.
The two highlights of the trip were the lunch at the winery (lovely and welcoming family, delicious lunch and beautiful history/location.) The second would be Ana, our guide. She was so friendly and informative. She made the experience feel personal. She has way more knowledgeable than any other tour I’ve ever been on in Rome / surrounding areas.

Loved our tour guide Ana and our driver Francesco. Ana not only shared personal experiences but also made it a point to get to know everyone. Francesco offered a hand every time you got off the bus and kindly taught my husband and I italian the whole ride. This was an awesome tour, not too much driving as they break it up and the stops are all amazing. Highly recommend and I recommend with these two.

This was a marvelous and truly unique experience. From the breathtaking views and peaceful walks through Montepulciano and the Tuscan countryside, to the wine tasting and the privilege of meeting a real traditional Italian family, every moment felt special.
It was deeply moving to hear them speak with such pride, passion, and humility about their family history and their wine cave. You could truly feel the love, tradition, and generations of hard work behind every detail.

This tour was worth the travel time. It is a long ride but the stops help break the time up where it doesn’t seem as long. The vineyard restaurant was beautiful and authentic. This was a fabulous experience and our guide was very knowledgeable. She made us feel very comfortable.

The ride to Tuscany was comfortable and our driver was excellent! The stop is Montepulciano, Pienza and the winery in Montelchino were perfect. If you are in Rome and only have time for a day trip to Tuscany I would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent day trip to Tuscany from Rome. My travel agent tried to discourage us from having an all day tour because of so much time on a bus, but we stopped along the way for a bathroom/coffee break, so it wasn’t bad at all. The bus was comfortable, and our guide, Paula, was excellent. Paula was organized, professional, and knowledgeable. Montepulciano in Tuscany was super quaint, and we had time to go off and explore for a bit on our own. A lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. Lunch and the wine tasting was plentiful and good. It was an excellent value for an all day tour, and I’m glad we were able to see Tuscany while in Rome.

It was so organized and Pari our guide, Daniollo our driver were excellent. It was a long day but full of interesting history. The tour of Montepulciano was quite the hike but well worth every step.
Barbara was another guide that took over and she too gave a great amount of information about the wealthy families that resided there. The best was the three course meal at the Piciano family farm where the owners and staff presented everything made from their farm including numerous wines recreated with our lunch. Fun time in Tuscany!

A day full of rich experiences, ranging from the spectacular Tuscsny countryside to visiting an authentic medieval village. We had a delicious lunch and wine tasting .
