Jessica was amazing! ...
Jessica was amazing! Food was delicious! Highly recommend it! Even though it was during a heavy rain, Jessica was able to provide rain ponchos, and minimized our outside travel, and everyone truly had a great international food experience!

Delicious sampling to Toronto's food scene
Great sampling of Toronto cuisine. Damien did a great job showing us around Kensington, where we got to try some wonderful food: Borekas, coffee, Jamaican beef patties, Bao bun, taco, and churro. All was delicious except the Bao, which was a little cold.

Odeil is a wonderful host
Our host, Odeil was wonderful. The experience felt like being welcomed into her home. It’s a great way to meet people that you would not usually connect with and try new foods with a bit of history thrown in. If it’s a hot day, bring a portable fan!

World food tour in Toronto
Fun neighborhood. A lot to see. Odile our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive. She cares about food and the neighborhood. Great experience. Generous portions. It's like a world tour. Definitely recommend.

A Good Guide Means Everything
Expert tour guide Kieran was totally responsible for making this very average content tour enjoyable and interesting. The content: Kensington Market... actually a scruffy row of rundown shops and not any sort of actual "market" is eminently skippable -- especially if you've already been to the far better St. Lawrence Market. And Chinatown... a neighborhood that essentially covers the same territory, but with Chinese signage and a few murals is also a miss.
If you've traveled worldwide as much as I have and seen vibrant local markets and cultural enclaves, then you'll likely be underwhelmed by what Toronto has on offer. Both Kensington Market and Chinatown are meager, mostly decrepit and potentially threatening if wandering around alone. Fortunately, Kieran was there as my guide. He took some sorry scraps and wove them into a rich, embroidered fabric. Thank you, Kieran

Oh this was such a nice...
Oh this was such a nice tour! Odile was darling, answering our questions, taking us to cool hidden architecture spots we would have missed on our own, and showing us all the best spots to eat- plus six amazing tastes- these were not just small bites, it’s a whole Jamaican patty, whole taco, etc. Our only surprise was that Kensington is a neighborhood, not a “market” per se. Still super worth the trip!!

Kensington Market is a must for foodies, bargain-hunters, and people-watchers.
Bring cash. While many vendors accept credit cards, not all do, and there is often an extra charge for purchases under a certain amount.
Try your hand at haggling. Not all vendors’ prices are fixed.
