Great experience! I had Andres as my guide and Jimmy as my driver. Both were very kind, prompt, informative.
Jimmy was an excellent driver, so glad I did the tour so I didnt have to drive those windy roads myself.
Andres provided ample knowledge during the drive and will at each of the stops.
Would highly recommend this tour
Note: I am an active hiker, the elevation really got to me. Was surprised by it but Andres was so kind and helpful along the way.

100% Helpful at every turn
Our guide was excellent. We had one get altitude sickness (we are from sea level) and they were great and stopped when we needed and helped get us what we needed. We didn’t get to do all the hiking that we wanted to but that was because of us, not the tour. Couldn’t have asked for more from the agency.

Amazing experience!...
Amazing experience! Carlos was a wonderful guide and very accommodating! I loved stopping at the craft shop and got to pick up a unique, locally made piece of art. The lagoon was absolutely stunning and he did a wonderful perimeter hike with us since nobody wanted to go to the bottom of the crater! Definitely the best day trip we did from Quito!

Great day trip to Quilotoa
Amazing day trip. Our tour guide Liz was great. Visited some small town and saw some indigenous homes. Quilotoa was pretty, love the small town vibe.

Not enough time
The tour started by visiting a local market. It sold veggies, fruits, rice, meats, cooking oils, etc. We spent 30 minutes there and the market was not interesting. Then we visited an indigenous family. This was more interesting. Then we only 2 hours at the Laguna. That was not enough time at all, if you wanted to go to the Laguna shores. Then we spent another hour at a lunch place. The food was ok.

Enjoyable, bit challenging tour.
I really appreciared that this tour took us to the real Ecuadorian parts of lifes even before reaching to Lake Quilatoa. Starting for breakfast at local restaurant and stopped by a local indeginous farm house to learn about how local people lived , what kind of equipment they used , farmed Gunea Pigs, Yamas. It is very interesting. And heading to the lake.
3900 meters, decending to 3500 meters mysterious lake is easy but a vending up is so tough.
Finally having a lunch at the local restaurant was a big highlight.
I will recommend everybody to join this tour who wants visit Ecuador

Great tour through the Ecuadorian Andes mountains
This is an active trip along the Ecuadorian Andes avenue of volcanoes. Visit Cotopaxi nationaal park, and Laguna Quilota. This is a steep climb down into the inactive volcano, but you can hire a mule to ascend.
Visit Banos, famous for it's waterfalls and Swing at the End of the world.
Climb to 5000m at Chimborazo.
Visit Ingapara archeological complex, a large Canari and Inca ruin.
I had an extra day, so we had an extended city tour to also see a couple of museums, including Museo Pumapungo and the old cathedral, and then a longer day hiking in Cajas National Park.
So many hightlights. You do need to be fit to get the most from the activities at high altitude.
The guide, Ed, was very accommodating and helpful to fill my extra day.
I had some issues with my Latam Airline booking, and all communication was in Spanish. Ed helped communicate with the airline to enable me to be sure that this was sorted.

When to visit

There is an entrance fee to access the lake viewpoints and walking trails.
The lake is located at high altitude, and if you’ve just arrived in Quito, it’s recommended to spend a couple of days acclimatizing before hiking or biking.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water if you plan on walking around the crater.
