What are people saying about Puerto Plata

This is a Must Do!
This was a great experience. The hike up the mountain wasn't too bad, but thank goodness for the few breaks they gave us. The one drawback was that this is a Very popular tour, so there were several operators with concurrent tours making it quite crowded. The natural slides were fun, but the best part was jumping off the cliff. The tour guide that drive us there (sorry I didn't get his name), was Great! He was patient and courteous. The lunch was wonderful. I'll definitely be doing this tour again in 2027.

Incredibly organized and so much fun!
I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone (with average or better fitness levels).
Communication was clear and reassuring. I had questions after booking and used the messaging system through viator. The company replied within minutes. The night before, we were also texted instructions for the next day. We got off the cruise ship and walked exactly where he told us to meet him (about a 10 min. brisk walk - not a lot of shade). We met our guide and driver and were off in a private, clean van. We were given tons of information about the area on the way to the falls and what to expect once we arrived. It was all very reassuring as I was a little stressed about the unknown. We were able to leave everything in the van which was kept locked and watched by the driver. We were added to another group - given helmets, life jackets, and a bottle of water and we were off. The hike had a lot of stairs and uneven ground. We wore harder soled water shoes and still could feel all the pebbles and rocks, but once we got to the water they were nice because they had drainage holes. They do stop and provide a couple breaks along the way. I'd like to think I'm in pretty good shape, but my cardio is lacking and that was very evident on this hike. But I'd still 100% recommend it. Once you get to the water, it is so refreshing and unlike anything I've ever had the opportunity to do. We only got to slide/jump into 7 falls. Most of them you have to slide into, but for the last 2 you have the option to jump (it's super high) or slide, or go down a ladder. I wear glasses (I'm pretty lind without them), so i wore them for the hike, but once I started sliding and jumping, iur guide said I had to give him my glasses for safety. He stored them in a water safe bag along with peoples' phones/watches, etc. We didn't get the picture package, but another group did and they stopped for a lot of pictures and videos at each stage. Afterwards lunch was included and it's right at the gate of the falls - a little buffet. Food was got and good and there was a good variety. Afterwards we went to a little place to learn about all the things they grow, how they make coffee and chocolate from plant to product. We saw a cigar making demonstration and tasted the manajuana drink. From there we were taken right back to where we were picked up and made the 10 min walk back to the ship (with way more shade). This tour was highly organized, informative, so much fun, and a great mini introduction to Puerto Plata. I will 100% book with this company again.

This is a must book
What a fantastic experience. The tour guides baby monkey fish and kailen were very knowledgeable and hilarious! Transportation was great. The food and other parts were out of this world. The photographer aka (chocolatte) not his real name was hands down the funniest most entertaining one there. Treated my kids like they were his own family. I can give this excursion enough praise. Best one I've been on yet

It rained during our excursion unfortunately but our guide Edward was such a fun and knowledgeable tour guide. We had a great time and appreciate getting to see so much of Puerto Plata that we would have never been able to see otherwise. Also, we felt very safe and cared for! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic
The whole experience was wonderful, the guides were all very helpful & friendly & the views were fantastic. We had a group of 6 and we had a blast. The zip lines were fun & the 6th zip had the best views. The trip down the creek bed on ATVs was a blast & the stop we made in town on the to try the local coffee, cocoa beans, mamawana & local fresh fruit was a great experience! Finally the horses were well behaved, though that ride didn't come with to much views and was rather short. It was fun to watch my kids light up with joy over the horses.
The lunch provided was also delicious. I highly recommend doing this trip if you visit Dominican we arrived by cruise ship at Amber cove & they got us back with a little time to spare.

First Time Snorkeler Review
This was SO much fun. I had never been snorkeling before, but the crew helped me learn and made me feel safe the entire time! They provided the snorkeling gear (and life vests for everyone) and you just had to bring a towel, sun block, and any additional snacks you wanted.
We sailed to two different snorkeling spots, and after snorkeling lunch was provided. Afterward we sailed for about 2 hours back to Puerto Plata. It was such a fun time, I would definitely do it again.

From Someone With No Experience of Either (Ziplining or Playing with Monkeys)
This experience was an absolute blast. One of us had been ziplining before and the other hadn’t - and we both absolutely LOVED it. The tour guides that were with us did an amazing job at making sure we had fun and felt safe. The views were breathtaking and there was a photographer with the group taking pictures that you could purchase afterward. It was such a fun way to experience the country.
One of us was really excited for the monkeys and one of us was not HOWEVER it was SUCH an enjoyable time. The monkeys are little, friendly, and soft. Note, that during this portion they may be in your hands, on your lap, on your shoulder, and even on your head. The guide did a GREAT job in making everyone feel comfortable and informing everyone of what to do / what not to do. I absolutely would recommend this!

Paradise Island and Bomb Ass Chicken
This one was super relaxing, depending on where you are staying it could be up to a 2hr ride but when you arrive to the beach you are then taken on a boat to a sand bar (Paradise Island) in the middle of the ocean, takes 2 min to walk around the whole "island", they give you tasty fruits and snorkeling gear, really cool fish and some big ones too. You can also just relax on the beach. After you are taken through a mangrove where it's a maze to get to a pretty central point but the way out was the fun part, top speed motorboat whipping through the maze that is the mangrove till you make it put into the open ocean. Then they take you to a Dominican restaurant where I had the best fried chicken probably ever. They stop a cigar spot that makes the cigars and they talk you through the process. If you get the guide named Mendy you are in for an educational and fun experience my guy speaks 4 languages fluently.

Look no more! Highly recommend for island and mangrove tour
Extremely responsive in updating us with a pick up
Time from our hotel. Bus was pleasant with AC and not overcrowded. We traveled in a Monday not sure if this had something to do with that. Crew was fun and accommodating. Lunch had great options for all types of palettes. We had our own personal attentive videographer and photographer Matis during the trip and he even dropped off our finished edited memory chip at our hotel the next day! Overall memorable experience and would highly recommend with our tour guide Izzy!

Great experience
Very good experience. Started with 7 waterfalls. Worth every penny. The views, the water and the fun slides. Ziplies were entertaining. Food was delicious and horse rides were calming. Also got to taste some hot chocolate and local organic coffee. I would recommend taking the tour with Daniel and Rosie.

Worth every penny
The entire trip was great, started with Damagajua falls, then lunch, followed by the ziplines, horseback and then ATVs.. nothing was rushed, especially the ATVs, we drove around the backwoods, rivers , and town.. literally the longest and best ATV excursion I've ever been on.. 100% worth every penny..

Absolutely do it!!
I can’t recommend this excursion enough! Our driver was EXCELLENT, smooth ride to the destination of the tour. The owner of the company explained everything to us to a T, what to expect what cost extra etc! Our ATV guide and photographer were amazing- great speed and combination of dirt, muddy, concrete and rocky roads. There’s also a stop at a local shop that is totally optional to you but we opted in and they were so lovely! They educated us on how their chocolate was made, allowed us to sample and gave us insight on the best purchases. Locally owned, too!! Then we got back and paid for our photos and headed into the garden of animals (also optional but we opted in to visit) and we got amazing photos with some of the birds/animals there! Amazing, excellent experience! Highly recommend!!
